  1. agree. this was a Royal C thing.. but now seeing it on X.. Any towels used like that go right to the laundry pile! Sometimes they use your belongings...like hats or expensive sunglasses for these towel things!
  2. CONGRATS! why not get civilly married where u live? makes it easier with the legalities ..then invite friends on board to a pvt dinner where u exchange personal vows.. dress up, hire ship photographer to do pics & or a video I recall vaguely that one of the ships had a great pvt rm where they held paired wine dinner...very plush
  3. we had a very positive experience this a.m. with a Celeb Cruise Rep based in Miami. After we made our final payment online (no issues) we wanted a new Confirmation page showing zero due. We called the usual ph #. The new automated answer message kept asking us to engage with the automated Q and A . We kept saying "agent" and got through with only a short wait. The live agent confirmed zero was due, went over all the details, and added my missing Cap Club Number to the res. Sent immed e mail Confirmaton to our e mail. I asked where he was located..said he was in Miami. So maybe not all reps are outsourced...worked well for us!
  4. thanks. possibly that's where it will be held on ASCENT.. The Bistro has nice sea views and atmosphere..smaller area than TUSCAN dining rm
  5. enjoyed BEYOND..better than EDGE..booked on ASCENT!
  6. We usually sail in AQ Class..limit is two per stateroom.. quiet corridors..limits BLU numbers.Children there well dressed and well behaved Last cruise was BEYOND, Sky Suite..so no idea of capacity. Very few children observed. We had a nice large closet.. compared to much less storage space for 2 in other cabins.. We sailed once yrs ago on a holiday week on Jewel..Royal C.. many children.. .unsupervised..damaging property, playing in elevators causing havoc.. Never again! Jamming them in not desireable !
  7. We have sailed X recently ..and our last Royal cruise was on Oasis a few yrs ago. It is a large ship which was overcrowded in many areas indoors and outdoors.. with lines to get into even pre booked events. etc. Just not our style! Seems good for families with children and teens with zip lines, ice shows, carousel etc The point made is that by encouraging 4 and 5 into a cabin it will crowd the ship..and quite possibly change the demographics. Most reg X cabins work well for 2 in terms of space and storage..maybe a plus one but tight! Packing them in is not a plus!
  8. and movies and music up at the Rooftop Garden.
  9. We always referred to our AQ Class bookings as the " poor man's suites!" When we tried suite class, we did not feel we missed much being in AQ Class other than a larger room, & priority on and off the ship. See what happens to your pricing and perks if you try to drop down!
  10. that's great.. seems you lucked out! wonder if we ask ahead they would tell about special buffet menus.. for dinner, lunch or brunch!
  11. as someone mentioned.. there are daytime activitles in the Club.. behind the scenes theater tour might be fun..nightime deck party with the DJ Have to look at the dailies and the app if you can access that..
  12. We have found the recent X surveys to be much less useful for cruiser feedback, compared to past surveys . Those were very detailed by discreet areas of services, dining, experiences, entertainment, condition of ship. etc. Now the surveys are more of a PR tool. No room for extended feedback. OP started a nice discussion..but it may have run its course!
  13. We are not big drinkers but visit some of the bars if not overcrowded or loud. We have enjoyed the lite bkfst more on E Class in Tuscan..one of the 4 mdrs, but have been to it on other ships in their Tuscan Restaurant. Nice and well attended Heard it may now be held in the Bistro? Does anyone know re E Class ???
  14. Sorry to hear that! Who is the Activity Director for this stuff? Some are really loud and in your face. Pool band and dj at the pool in the afternoon are all we need..not a bozo with a mic! I will bring ear plugs just in case! On days that we use the outdoor pool, we get out there early, find a nice spot in the shade. Husb does his puzzles and I take my swim . We leave as soon as the loud music, and Royal C / Carnival style fun and games begin Some folks need constant party time..not interested in chilling out. Other calm times are port days if we stay on the ship, .and early afternoon before everyone comes back from the port. Hope you get some nice pool time on your cruise!
  15. We enjoyed Summit over the years to Hawaii roundtrip , the Carib and Bermuda. Last time we were on, it was getting a bit " seedy and needy", esp the upstairs lounge.. but I believe she has been refurbed. We cruised on EDGE twice in her first year in AQ Class and SV for a longer itin. Hard to believe it could get run down in just a few years. Our most recent cruise ( post Covid pause) was on BEYOND; in perfect shape. After we try Ascent which will be the newest, we will return to Silhouette for a short cruise...one of our fav ships. She is older but has gotten some good reviews..Missed trying Apex( Covid pause) so we have that booked as well . From this thread and others, it seems that aside from food and dining issues, X will need to focus on gen maint, upkeep and appearance of the fleet. It would be a shame for X to fall into a lower tier cruise line..esp so high priced
  16. Perhaps, but not all go for the included drinks. On E Class in Tuscsn it was a very nice atmosphere even if just for a second coffee and danish. It usually has some of the best coffee on board
  17. A "snapshot" .. just another chance to critque X and vent !
  18. looks great..hope our excursion includes a meal like that
  19. wow.... maybe cramped conditions. two in a reg stateroom is sometimes rough when getting ready for dinner!
  20. guess we will ask for more details when we order rather than just select something that sounds good.. blew our budget at the meat store today...fortunately we limit beef and my husb is a great chef!
