  1. Don't E Class ships have a modern "Gateway" for boarding its own plush tenders in certain ports? Regular tender boarding often involves steep ramps down to the tender & alot of "bobbing" in water while folks board. Have seen folks injured getting on..Quality of tendets vary..ship vs port supplied. We try to avoid tenders.
  2. We were offered an AQ 1 cabin at the lower AQ 2 price, which we accepted. But when I checked the location it was under a noisy area... I called back and got an A2 in a quieter spot. Thus my warning to check the location..
  3. thank you.. we looked at her future itins but will have to wait til sge sails from our side of the Atlantic... sticking closer to home these days! Great sunset photos..outstanding!
  4. Ps.. we also had a big balc on our Sky Suite on Beyond..but have no idea abt a lounger....never went on the balc...The.Retreat outdoor area had plenty of loungers.
  5. Over the years on X , we always had loungers when we booked oversized balcony angled (hump) cabins, C M & S class ships. Also had one or two on the aft balc of of Sunset Veranda cabin... The move to remove is recent!
  6. the upgrade to A1 is not always a good move.. check location before you jump on that!
  7. floors in the inf balc are not carpeted...hard surface not sure of the area size with the bi fold doors closed this might be an interesting question for the forum with the X pres
  8. On the ship's tour ..we saw the huge washing machines and were advised water used is HOT HOT HOT. We get one bag each at E Plus & send: 1 bag of all whites..cotton undies, tees and mens socks. For the 2nd load, we send old travel tee shirts/ shorts...with no big expectations! They do a great job and fold, but it is not a Concierge type service . We rec'd that once after an oily fuel blow back on Silho.. everyone and everything at Sunset Bar was covered in black soot, including my new white shorts. They were specially handled & came back just like new! But don't expect that!
  9. looking forward to more..thanks for sharing ..Based on your pics of Infinity..we may give it another look.. How is the AC and water pressure?
  10. which ship..which itin,,?
  11. great review and photos...I loved the pics of the hot air ballooons, something un-expected in a cruise review.. Very nice adventure I am looking forward to more about the ports ( been to most but a fresh look!) , & Infinity..not very changed looking! For how long will you be away?
  12. earplugs or sound machine for the disturbed. and CPAP or chin strap for the disturbor! or find other cruise partners
  13. very frequentkly asked suggest OP try search feature for recent threads about the IV.. pros and cons, personal taste & depends on itin
  14. can't recall when, but it did forever change the demographics of X.. many "big drinkers" flocked to X because of them, and they began to try and change X to be like the lines they left.. still trying to re make X Royal sub 2.. It was much better when folks paid for drinks. They had wine packages and that was really enough ! The packages brought higher prices for everyone..even moderate users. "Big, better, best" was ok and reflected more reasonable pricing! Now its all hooked up with grats, wifi, alcohol, etc.. We are def subsidizing the alcohol consumption of others!
  15. We bring easy to hand wash items and do a few at a time..drip dry in the shower . We save laundry expenditure for undies. Glad we are E + and each get a free bag.. never send anything that can shrink in very hot water, or get ruined/ lost
  16. We generally book far ahead.. and would not be willing or possibly able to change! Last yr, they made our 5 day Reflection (?) cruise into a longer itin..but it conflicted with a family event..We had to regroup but were given adequate notice. Hope they can do these re-sets with Volunteers!
  17. Great deal but also scary.. what if not enough folks take the offer,.? Will they bump booked cruisers?
  18. There have been recent threads about moving beds apart but I never saw one like this. The room is look and narrow, and other than moving a chair, the space is not conducive to moving furniture. Bringing tools to unbolt furniture would no doubt be frowned upon . Maybe not a good cabin for OP if more space is needed!
  19. thanks for posting this. glad to see our Jan 25 to Feb 1, 2025 cruise is still listed!
  20. There's nothing lowly about AQ Class.. we enjoy BLU and the Thermal suites.. Right now AQ class is priced high.. we are booking it when we can but also trying Concierge Class on Silho & back to Sunset Ver on APEX... On Beyond, BLU was much nicer than Luminae..better menu, food itself, service and a much brighter location. Enjoy!
  21. Most all of my requests for 'no wine' with meals are respected. When my husb places his wine order, my wine glass is removed. I usually get club soda with lime with dinner. (I am diabetic type 2 and alc clashes with my meds) I splurge a few times for a Baileys after dinner, but never had alc pushed on me! Very bad, behavior, esp if person was a credentialed sommelier. OP thanks for the heads up.
  22. very nice photos..and great format for a review! loved the hot glass art hope we get back to Bermuda some day..
