  1. Yes, we remember enjoyed it. I remember well, there was a small staircase on the starboard side before the Caronia Bar. We had Captain Warwick as our Captain and we received a Cunard Award for Days at Sea from him. Other side of the ship, port side, Princess Grill...
  2. They did not repeat two years ago celebration style last year...
  3. Hi Maria & Marshall, We have taken numerous Independence Day Cruises on the QE2 & QM2 when taking a break from larger sailings. To answer your questions simple ..... NO, not from the ship and due to the timing of the ship in port they do not take passengers close to the fireworks. The for fireworks are blocked by the skyscrapers of Boston and only see from a distance, the local fireworks in the neighboring communities. They are held in the Charles River quite a distance from the pier the ship docks. Also the traffic would be the biggest challenge to fireworks. We took the trip last year. Instead they show on the LED Screen in the Royal Court Theater, the broadcast of the Boston Channel's Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular Concert (8PM) with the Fireworks around 1030. There are also a Queens Room Dance Party and once a On Deck Party by the Terrace Bar.
  4. ....lol.... You're second person to use that term this week I've heard......
  5. Others with Qx Grill experience needs to response..
  6. We enjoyed the Princess Grill Suite and Princess Grill Dining Room. The Suite not cabin had plenty room for all our needs. Bathroom, extra Closet space, outside extra closet space, area for food and dining services ( two coffee makers, refrig, crystal wear for liquor/wine use. More leisure space with a couch and bench. Spacious bed. Also for extra storage Bookshelves for our personal needs. We also appreciate the more balcony and balcony furniture. We appreciated also the Princess Grill restaurant and their dedicated staff from M'd, waiters and Wine Steward. We enjoyed the variety of menu selections and A'la Carte additions. Also the items which we could order earlier on for the evening for two. And the wonderful Flambe's dishes and desserts. We hope to return to the PG Class in the future. We really don't care to upgrade to Queens Grill Class.
  7. Spark: The Universe in Us is about our deep connection not just to Earth, but to stars millions of light years away—and billions of years in the past. Start your journey by soaring over a stunning Sierra Nevada waterfall, and then blast off across space and time to discover the celestial origins of the elements we all have in common. Along the way, you’ll enter the core of a giant star just before it implodes, experience the quiet demise of a star like the Sun, and see how colliding stars seed the Universe with the building blocks of life. 8. Hi irvington, How are you? Unfortunately it sounds like it is not like the traditional shows once shown that were from NASA. Sounds like a Light & Sound Show. Disappointed from what was once.
  9. We did the NYC - NYC portion and love it. It's a sailing we will remember. We truly enjoyed the Days at Sea transiting the Saint Lawrence Seaway. Memorable Sailing.
  10. FAQ section of the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal What time can I arrive? Check-in times are dependent on the vessel's arrival but baggage processing begins no earlier than 9:30 am.
  11. We normally experience the whales slowdown coming down from Boston along Cape Cod from New England to the Big Apple in July. We also run 9.9 knots for most of the day.
  12. What I thought was happening 13 hours with the Speed Change did happening now with a Med Vac.. Interesting crossing.....
  13. Queen Mary 2 is now still 10 knts and wavering to 9.9...... Not sure if anyone else is monitoring this. Readings off of Marine Traffic and Vessel Finder...
  14. We saw the QM2 left NYC today and wished it God Speed. But before going to bed happen to want see where she was... Starting to Head out to Sea past Long Island - Montauk. But noticed she dropped to 10 knts from a previous 19.5. Hope all is well on board with engineering and passengers. Will monitor it for a while longer.
  15. Lisa & Paul When on board when we sail, we sometime go to the later show again if we liked it. We do not see it very crowded like the first since many passengers head to the Queen Room that is in progress. Very rarely do they change the times unless there maybe another activity that may conflict with both times.
  16. Peaches Flambe Pear Flambe Steak Diane Pawn Scampi w Pernod Lobster l'americaine
  17. Lisa & Paul You will enjoy the shows in the RCT. It is one of the special events on board we enjoy attending on our sailings. They are held at 8PM and 10PM. We suggest you arrive earlier to the time to get a good seat. Towards showtime, the theater fills up very fast.
  18. Never experienced a problem with smells or odors in our clothing or (hair) while sailing on especially the QM2 from dining in the BC or PG Dining Rooms. From food preparations table side at a table nearby or even close proximity at our table. Wouldn't even know this happens if it wasn't mentioned in this thread. And I really don't think there is an over use of the liquor used at the Flambe Table for those dishes which is it used. Will be sailing in about 200+ days and will be seeing if this occurrence does exist since our last two trip.
