  1. Yep, the boot will be on for a month longer than expected as well as being non weight bearing. We felt the cruise could still work but getting around otherwise and not being able to walk was too restricted.
  2. Hi Kathy, We have not as of yet tried the typical ones on the Mary 2. Most likely would the Italian. See what others will be. Not interested in the Mid East or Asian cuisine ones. And may try Verandah evening if we think it's worth it as a surcharge. Normally we use the voucher for Lunch. I know the evening is a larger menu. We'll see....... I fortunately have a special direct contact I can't share but at the beginning I used (below) that very much worked as a beginning. I don't know if I have a DM to give you to help you more. It does take time for communication btw you, cunard and the ship. Good Luck and hope you have a group like we had... Cunard Onboard Services CUNARDONBOARDSERVICES@CUNARD.COM
  3. We always see with cruises and different travels even on land how different locations, sources of food and preparations. Even we've seen it in change of water. Once home, all should be ok unless a bug came home from the travel. We do take certain pharm's with us for use if we experience it.
  4. Those cabins are only available on Deck 11,10, 9, 8, 6, 5, 4 and 3
  5. UP elevators DOWN stairs Unless BC, Down Elevators 12 - 2 Decks....... Lateral walking before and after meals.....Prefer Prom Deck for Digestive FRESH AIR.... During bad weather and rain....... Several walks on Deck 4, front/back several times like Promenade....Stewards get a kick and say "Hello" on returns each time.....
  6. We have experience Clear Aqua water at most Caribbean Islands.. Beaches that are away from the Cruise Ports maybe influenced by the harbor traffic and ships.
  7. Kathy, Hello! Never still tried the evenings alternate dining yet. Have to try it on the upcoming 14 day. Should have plenty time to try one. Good Cruising..
  8. There are some ship we have seen or were on that there was sort of a slope effect you were able to view the balconies below. Don't remember the name but yes could view down.. Happy Marriage and Honeymoon....
  9. Cheers........... with you drinks and toasts.......Bon Voyage.... BTW...... Marinara with Seafood and pasta is known as Zuppa Di Pesce
  10. With the Britannia Club Restaurant, having cabins on Deck 13 and Forward 12, you will get the walk in definitely. You build the appetite to eat and walk the meals off. Full crossing the ship to the aft and about 10 decks down. Of course going and coming we do use the elevator.
  11. I do agree with you with the cuisine of the PG and Pub and BC when booked. Also with Carinthia which we are introducing ourselves too! But I don't see the debate with Verandah which we have been happy and satisfy with on past visits. Sometimes with reviews and comments I wonder if I have been on the same Ship.
  12. One time on one of the first voyages on the QE2's in the bookstore my DW bought a cute book with common British - English counterparts of words and phases. How interesting.....
  13. Whippe - Hamburger.....
  14. Victoria, Coming From Brooklyn NY, Bensonhurst neighborhood, GRAVY. - SAUCE subject causes ongoing comedy exchanges between friends of who believe which term is right.. Say the right term you believe and right away you're hear another opinion.....lol....lol.....
  15. Sorry but true "gravy - beef" on wide pasta for pot roast or beef stroganoff example is my greatest love. Even without the meat....Yummy
  16. Sauce is meatless and also called Marinara (tomato only) Sauce...
  17. Gravy is the technical term for a Tomato Meat Sauce cooked typical on and for Sunday Dinner in Italian households. Not the typical Gravy being Brown for Meats.
  18. As bluemarble mentioned, yes they are on the in cabin tvs and repeated several times a day. We've catched up with all them in the afternoon and when dressing for Dinner to see what we may have missed. If the speaker is someone we missed and liked the first transmission, we will make our way to the next session they may present during the voyage.
  19. The sailing before the last sailing we had ladies coming from a bar with drinks in their hands from visiting a bar before the dining room and sat near us. No question asked.
  20. The only one we experienced with guaranteed cabin was the one on Deck 13 months after the 2016 refit. So nice to have seen the new cabin, shower door instead of curtain and the balcony door was sliding not the typical swing open type. Again a stretch of the legs to the dining room in the aft portion of the ship.
  21. So happy with your decision. May I suggest Deck 12 since Deck 13 does block the forward view with the Bridge blocking the view. We like Deck 12 away from the B Elevators and Pavillon Pool since some of those cabins have a overhang from the Sun Deck. Just a thought if you look at the Port Side photo of the ship and Deck area. We too enjoy the Britannia Club Restaurant and it's intimacy. And the Ala Carte Menu gives you alternate selection. Don't give a second thought that it is at the other end of the ship and 10 deck below. Good reason to walk off the meals....lol
  22. Unfortunately I must disagree with this complete statement. One voyage we were assigned to the Britannia Club Cabin on Deck 13 Forward and on a July sailing we did not feel any movement transiting from NYC, Halifax and Boston. We were pleasantly surprise of the experience and we have sailed in many parts of the ship over close to 20 years. Not all sailings will cause the sense of movement in that area. So sometimes it depends on the location you will be sailing that you will feel it more than other locations. Actually we felt more around Deck 12 near the Pavilion Pool on one particular voyage. We may have just been lucky!
