  1. With the number of passengers on board, the number of passengers without masks, not knowing their health status especially and respectfully international passengers, we just wanted to monitor ourselves for our safety. Severe crowded tour buses, productive coughs and sneezes in that enclosed location for an average of 2 to 3 1/2 hours there are chances. Also remember those that are asymptomatic and sailing with you. Our voyage had a assigned corridor closed for quarantine purpose. Better to be safe than sorry.....Retired from Medical Professional I saw and experienced those that didn't follow the suggested guideline for your betterment. Our Medical Center had too many Refrig trucks in the background with once healthy people.....
  2. Unfortunately we did have stories from passengers we knew on past sailings post-pan that certain evidence was questioned by the ships staff. Yes it did happen for the good of the state of the ship health status. And we would not have minded it as we would share our health status for the good of our fellow passengers. But testing products are personal for testing and should be disposed of but share results with medical staff. Being a retired medical professional, after a certain amount of time after the test results are to be read, the test results/cube will not be accurate to read anymore.
  3. Sailing since 1971 and experience over half a dozen lines and have never been called to Muster. We have experienced Medical Emergencies on board and On Board Engineering Emergencies that did not need to call us to Muster. One time we were during an unsettled time in the world on a Caribbean cruise on the QE2 and three different times, we were escorted by Frigates a longside without incidents. All the times we were confident and assured we were safe on board.
  4. So glad we are free to make our own choices with what Alternate Choice we may get as a gratitis. But we enjoyed the Alternates we are treated to, Our Grill Seated Restaurant, Our Free Choice Golden Loin Lunch Treat etc... We are open to do what we want without thinking what is behind it.... Even a open choice Kings Court has choices we will not find in any of the other locations...... Choices Free as the Wind.
  5. We were on your portion and did not experience any of that.
  6. We found with our visits at BH, always all the placed serve you a decent Lobster Dish. We also enjoyed the overwhelming blueberry products of all kind.
  7. Sorry but I didn't want a leave a positive results in a waste basket if one did happen. I would think anyone with a positive result would want to leave it in the same cabin and would remove it to another location. Those in my group that did get feeling did with responsibility reported to the Medical Center.
  8. Yes, we had were in it during a sea day. We felt more laverish treatment then in the Princess Grill. And the food was very well prepared. We should have had another meal there. Next we will.
  9. As Diamond Member we enjoyed the Lunch they offered us. A very nice experience for a Lunch.
  10. Maybe we were lucky to be in Princess Grill, I didn't remember richer and heavier dishes in our restaurant. You do have to remember that there a the Lunch Menu and the Alternate A La Carte Menu on the other flap of the Menu Binder.
  11. We enjoy walking the town and have a lobster lunch with that sweet water lobster.
  12. Ours was a visit to the Public Garden, Walk thru Town, Lunch at Salty's and walk back to Pier
  13. We were their around Oct 5th and docked at Pier 21. There were only about 2 cabs waiting outside of the pier. Halifax to Fairview Lawn Cemetery is to taxi which costs $14 - $18 and takes 5 min They take Canadian Money...
  14. We take the non-prescribed and prescriptions medications that our doctors suggests. Also we found on some sailings it is hard to find a Drug Store to buy items we needed. We had this problems in Quebec where we had from the ship a 45 minutes walk to the New Town to a decent drug store. Nothing was anywhere close to the ship's dock. Not even close to any of the hotels. We learned for the future.
  15. You can stay in the Brooklyn Marriott on Adams Street we refer all to stay. Close to the pier with a short drive along the East River. Also many restaurants long Court St, Smith Street and Montague Street. After you can take a walk along area called DUMBO by the Brooklyn Bridge (even walk across). Also the Famous Promenade look at Lower Manhattan Financial Center and South Street Seaport.
  16. We have a place that has close to 50+ types of bagels.
  17. To hear the difficulties people have getting good quality item went in NYC we have everything at our hands and maybe don't appreciate it. And the creativity is thru the roof.
  18. On the recent QM2 sailing the Poached Eggs were Perfect. They really know their stuff. I have a picture but stored already. Will be time before I can post. But their method was Excellent.
  19. Each person needs to do what will make them comfortable for the entire voyage. Personal choice. Some voyages have the typical times set but like our recent sailing, our times changed due to operational reasons. But there can be security reasons. So we also go with the flow. The tours or excursions are altered to the changes. We never got shorted. We personally for over 40+ years have enjoyed sailing and really look forward when we moved to Cunard. We are not impressed with these Mega Ships. We even for three years before we moved to the QM2 were not impressed with HAL. You need to be open to Gala Evenings to enjoy them as they are applied. Maybe not for everyone but there are a lot of people that really enjoy and look forward to Gala Evening. And also after 6PM attire that set a really nice feeling for the evenings. Even though we sailed the QE2, we did a trail short sailing on the QM2 to see if we would like her and our decision was made. And have sailed her on many longer trips. So to each is own. We know people in their early 70's that still sail Disney and it's amazes us. So good luck on your choices and enjoy what style you pick and like. Bon Voyage..
  20. Hope you enjoy a pleasant sailing. But we will never book again guarantee after a disappointing experience. Regular bookings even get us upgrade experiences. We alway search the internet to find the arrival and departure times for Ports of Call. "Early Morning" gives us an idea around the time. Our selection of cabin cat. is always Grill so we know right off the set times of 8-930 12-130 630-9 which we are accustomed to. When availability to book alt. dining we also use the capability even thru the Cunard Landline to assure a booking. Being Diamond & Grill also assures us of concierge bookings. And this last sailing all our tours were booked online and assured us of a spot that sometimes turn limited or close out by the time we step foot on board. Our tickets are awaiting in the Cabin on arrival. Yes Cunard can do better but we don't let it bother us and look forward to the primary reason and it is to sail on board with all the work behind us.
  21. I am use to the traditional poaching method the French uses
  22. We were recently on board and could not find the speakers assigned to our sailing. But we waited and were pleasantly surprised with the outcoming and enjoyed their presentations. So we really did not mine not finding out till on board and went with the flow. We do not book cruises because of the speakers so not important with us.
  23. I don't think it's proper that test equipment be visible on a vessel where people are out to enjoy themselves. Like not disposing syringes for medical reason to be improperly disposed of. Consideration to your fellow passengers. Also items can not be disposed down the toilets without clogging the system.
