  1. Since wheat is widely available and relatively inexpensive in the United States, Jewish rye bread has evolved to have very little rye in it at all. Most often the rye is found only in the sour, which is then added to the dough of wheat flour, water, salt, and commercial yeast.
  2. We didn't not experience any of this on last sailing. Straight forward charges as we purchased and posted. Has it been something particular to some people or particular cards?
  3. Sorry, personal opinion, my likes are original productions of plays and movies that them what they are. They would not be remakes if original ones weren't first made. I also don't care for when originals can not be produced as original have to have words and songs removed and/or altered. To each is own....I don't mine "you would miss a ton of great theater"...
  4. Unfortunately I like Original Productions and not remakes...
  5. On of the best souvenir are rocks or stones from various Port of Calls that reflected the ground and surface of the area ex. volcanic stone.
  6. They get it from New Rochelle bakery. Got a loaf and they kept the plastic bag on it.
  7. I picked up in Sept Iles Ca Mountain Cranberry Jam. Very different from the Cranberry you get from bogs of the Eastern Sea Coast.
  8. We enjoyed the Room Service feature on disembarkation day. It did help since we departed from the cabin instead of waiting outside the room.
  9. 1776 not getting that backing many thought it would get with the change of concept. Should stay with the original.
  10. It helps when you have someone that worked in Cunard Services. Just lucky.
  11. Victoria you are right! I remember at breakfast on disembarkation day the fellows were picking up the tables and changing them around for those coming on board at 12 Noon. Table of 2's were changed to Table for 4 and another one to Table of 6. Tables by the windows were remaining the same. They were very busy changing the Table Layout.
  12. If you are talking about Roaring 20's, our sailings had a lot of fun with it. The ship had a lot of people in various forms of dress that really added to the fun. The guys really fitted into the period. But the women really did the right dress. People were coming into the Princess Grill already dressed and ready to go directly to the Queens Room.
  13. Verandah Steakhouse has more space in it over the other restaurants. Every night when we cut thru the Britannia restaurant from Princess, we were so glad that we upgraded from Britannia to Britannia Club to Princess. We now know which one we really like now. No really impressed with QG and the menus. So PG looks good from then on. If we UG to QG then we will see if we like it.
  14. Cunard emailed the ship. We placed our request a day or two after booking. I heard the earlier you book they go by that date with consideration. Being in Princess we had a good foot space btw tables. And we felt very comfortable eating without masks. Reviewing the photo of the QG I took on walking around, I was not comfortable seeing that. Looks pretty close doesn't it.
  15. I Remember a Dinner on the QM2 with the Captain and CEO of Cunard at that time Carol Marlow on a Caribbean Sailing the year the Queen Victoria was being introduced. There was a Powerpoint presentation in Illuminations about the Victoria. We had a wonderful talk after the presentation. Later that afternoon we found an Invitation in our Cabin for Dinner at the Captain's Table that evening. There was about 12 of us seated. I remember each course was served with a choice of wines to compliment the course. It was a delightful meal and conversation with the other passengers. Later that night delivered to our Cabin was the CD used by Carol Marlow of the Queen Victoria presentation. A wonderful keepsake of the voyage and the experience.
  16. This past sailing on the QM2 we were in PG and the table assignment card did not show a table number till we entered the restaurant and were seated. But they did get our request we mailed for a specific table area and number. We were surprised not to see a table number. But all worked out with our contact.
  17. Sailing on the QM2 Cunard Line we had two features. The My Voyage did work if you got the WiFi connection to stay. The Cunard WiFi was good in various parts of the ship. We made Dining Room Reservations, Lecture reserved, Speciality Restaurant booking and we even saw the Daily Programme in mini version.
  18. We did this exact sailing in September and had the same problem of clothing choice. We had Sweaters, Felt Vests, Light Parker etc.. to choose from. We had some rough weather at sea and needed rain gear to walk the deck. Also the weather ranged from low 40's to low 30's. Once or twice we had high 20's. Some of the afternoons was Sunny but brisk. Of course nights were challenging walking the streets of Quebec. What we did was month before we watched all the Port of Calls weather and average the activities we would expect to experience. It really worked. We did have to change items in the luggage even up to 3-4 days before we had to change..
  19. To us it's a one stop deal. Photos stop. It is also not pleasant if the weather doesn't cooperate and be very rough. We only stopped in two shop. One in the restaurant and one on top of the hill. Pls make your own choice and do your own research.
  20. This was exactly what we did this past sailing except we ate in our favorite restaurant instead of outside vendors.
  21. You are welcome to try the Cunard Line with those features. Lectures on average 2 sessions to each speaker and Q&A afterwards. I don't think Cunard would ever drop this activity. This last sailing in September the theater was 3/4 or more full.
