  1. On the QM2 we had it in the PG Cabin....
  2. Hi LibertyBella, Are you trying to tell me something earlier.....ha ha ha ? ? ? (Our 4th July sailing) We don't let it totally ruin our total sailing. Only know it's really in the Qx Rm more than the G32 Disco. I don't think they even do this during Tea in the Queens because most of the ship attack that area early on and Tea dance is only once a sailing. It a shame that other rooms on board aren't avail to dance. Pub and Chart is really only leisure listening.
  3. ballroom-cruisers, To go off topic for a bit, this subject also reminds me of the Sundeck and Pool Deck "chair cheaters" when on a warm weather and Caribbean cruise. Seeing passengers putting books, towels and personal goods on the lounges and going to breakfast or lunch and leaving stuff behind. And then coming back. Other passengers could have used those loungers for that time. I know some other lines will after certain amount of time remove the items and storage them for the owners to return to pick them up. Can't do that in the Qx Rm dancers. The plain matter is courtesy to fellow passengers. But during the day I just thought the to subjects were close to each other in a matter of speaking.
  4. Dear Ball-Cruiser, First Respectfully, you do have my sympathy of what you experienced and it is not right. Sounds like My DW and I would be interested in watching you with you partner dance and even speak with you. As I am a traditional normal dancer enjoying slow dancing with my DW of 46 years, it's important to get away on a trip especially on the QM2 have that personal time to enjoy. I really don't understand why the staff don't address this. How many other passengers feel like this. Sailing with Cunard since 1987, we never experienced this on our love, Queen Elizabeth's 2 Ball Room either in the Queen Room or Theater before the Evening Show. What times we enjoyed. Can the staff set rules over the evenings for fairness for all passengers use. I forgot what year we first noticed this. Think is was around 2017. I don't think it was in 2013 when on board. I do hope this problem can be corrected in the future. I will try to remember to see if I can address this with the Entertainment Director in July just to see what he/she would say. Till then enjoy you talent. I was once a Professional Ethnic Folk Dancer and know how rewarding dancing can be.
  5. Dear ballroom-cruisers and Queenvee, You have my sympathy as I too have joined the group of those who have experienced this on several past sailings that agree with "Having these group(s) on board ruins the dance experience for me".. I think you agree that they make themselves known with lapel labels on themselves and mostly sit on the right side - lower area of the Qx Rm. On this last sailing this past September on the QM2 this first part of the cruise - 7 days NYC-Quebec it was evident they were on board. Same group, same location, same ID on themselves. They must eat very early as they were there when the canned music was being played. The group was about 20-30. Continuous on the dance floor with all different moves and areas of the floor preventing regular passengers of all ages to dance traditional music. When the bands played they seem to have played music related to those on the floor (them). No slow dances were played at all....yes at all. I could see people leaving the Qx Rm or just sat and watched. So several times we went into the G32 to listened to the DJ or the visiting group with pleasure. Well several times when the music break occurred outside they came inside and took over the floor with wide use of area. Yes it was them. Music outside started....out they went... They don't seem to sit. No disrespect to dancers on board which real skillful ones it a pleasure to see and wish we can do but these others are intimidating. My DW and I were unable to dance the entire cruise and threatened to dance with her in our cabin. We are booked in July for 7 days and unfortunately expect them to be there.... So we have to figure this out. But sorry you too experienced this same thing.
  6. We were entirely happy and satisfied with our Princess Grill experience two months ago. We are thinking of rebooking it again in future. We did share trying the KC & GLP when on the run and needed to leave.
  7. Since our sailing was for R&R we were happy with Concierge Lounge. I get a kick with the Queens Room Tea when they open the doors, it looks like the Kentucky Derby when the horses gates open up. Granted one locations is brewed tea, one you brew it in the cup and the other in the kitchen. Two served White Gloves and the other self service. As said, we were R&R and happy with quiet CL on Deck 9. We unfortunately didn't get a chance with the crowds to have a drink in GL before dinner.
  8. We found some of the sandwiches were close to the Champagne Tea and some of the Sweets were interesting and different. Don't know if the same as September. But we were always appreciative of Scones, Clot Cream and array of Jam.
  9. Yes it's are bar open early in the day till late. Also avail for Pre and Post Meal Drinks. And also Afternoon Tea for Grill Passengers. The menus are same as around the ship.
  10. We seem not to have any problems with all the meals. In the PG, we were offered the Danish basket and would take it if we thought it wouldn't interfer with the further order. No Danish if asking for toast. We really had no problem with lunches. We just selected what we felt we were the right choice. No problem with a treat afterwards. Or we would pass thru the KC to see what desserts they had. Tea time was mostly in the Concierge Lounge and once in the Grill Lounge. Next time back in Queens Grill. Tea was modified with a short treat unless the sandwich was interesting. Dinner was always App/Soup to Nuts...pardon me, dessert or Cheese Boards. Lost 15-16 lbs before the trip and only gained 3 - 3.5 on return home from a 14 day voyage. Lots of walking from one end of the ship to the other end. QM2's restaurants are positioned in the rear while our Cabin for Grill was Forward. So quite a hike to and from the cabin. We never worried about the meals and enjoyed what we felt what was interesting at the time. BTW...in PG... those more senior passengers we noticed possibly or no app. Consumed their Entree and left after a hot drink ex. Tea... In and Out...
  11. On the QM2 we had my DW shoe fixed. Our stewardess sent to the machine engineer shop to have fixed. Good job
  12. The Concierge Lounge on the QM2 was very helpful to us several times. She assisted us several times with reservations and bookings. Its on Deck 9 BTW Evelator B & C. Yes it does not have windows but doesn't stop passengers from using it. It has coffee and tea service with breakfast Danish. Around noon they add sandwiches to the display. And at 3-4 Tea sandwiches and sweets including scones and clotted cream. Passengers sit in there reading and there is a router for wireless. Found it better than reading in the library where it's crowded and can interfere others. Grill Lounge we were once in for tea disappointing with the crowds and not enough space for all to sit. We preferred Concierge Lounge or Queens Room. They even ran out of items in the Grill Lounge before the end of time. Disappointed us. We really never used it for before or after drinks..
  13. Wish you continued Success with your sailing. Knew u would love the experience. Any other needs you can go to the Concerige helped us
  14. Corner brook... Highlight Syndey.. Bell Museum Halifax... Historical Halifax and Titanic if also includes Titanic Cemetery and Public Garden. If time, don't forget to enjoy a fresh seafood meal. We like Salty's along boardwalk
  15. This year on September Canadian sailing QM2 all the meals were very good except and the staff agreed in PG the meat could have been better quality.
  16. For the Majority of our Sailing History we have and enjoyed the Cunard Line. Our favorite is the QM2. We believe their meals and alternate dining options are very good otherwise we would be have sailed with them since 1982. On board activities like others ex. ball room dancing lessons, lectures, casino, movies, planetarium, mid day concerts, Themed Gala Evening, evening shows, G32 Disco and Ball Room dancing in the Queen Room. The other ships in Cunard have the same activities... You may need to think of changing Lines.
  17. As shared before, always got the time slot, location and table we have requested in the past during booking and followup calls with Cunard.. Just like we have always had a wonderful and delightful Meet & Greets on our past sailings.
  18. Barbados is another Port we to enter and leave especially at Midnight like in the past. Beautiful a night all lite up. We too love to look at the Port Cams and see all the activity. Especially when the ships leave Fort Lauderdale and all the activity and noise on the shore. And how close the cameras come to the ship. You can see the faces of the people on board..
  19. On this last sailing in September, we liked the new vers. of the DP since it did give information to refer to. The older vers. was ok in the past but very crowded. This one we knew the title, time and location and we took it from there.
