  1. This morning was mostly cloudy but I did spot a bit of orange sky between the trees on my morning walk. Roy
  2. NA not showing up on Marine Traffic but I THINK satellite has it near Grand Island. Roy
  3. My birthday is tomorrow. "Attaining an age" is a quirk that goes back to English Common Law, and for purposes of Social Security are based on "Attaining" a certain age, and to start benefits it's the first day of eligibility for benefits. For benefits to begin, one must be eligible for the entire month and the best day to be born is the second of the month because one Attains retirement age the first of the month and is eligible while one born the 3rd or later must wait another month. Just thinking. That might not be quite correct. There may have been relatively recent amendments to prorate the first month of benefit but I'm not sure. Today is my last full day as a 78-year old. Roy
  4. Thank you for the Hump Day Report, Rich. HVAC tech are certainly in high demand right now, although there seem to be lots of places with temperatures either higher or lower than normal so demand will be unevenly spread through the country. Rain forests are both essential and threatened. I'll pass on the onion rings. I like the quote. Been to San Francisco many times both on Crystal and land trips but never on a BHB. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Chilled Apple Vichyssoise, Fruit Cup au Natural, and Linguini with Prosciutto and Gorgonzola as served on MS Prinsendam May 24, 2015. Today is my last day as a 78-year old. Today, in Social Security terms, I attain age 79. 10. Thank you for the Solstice Daily, Rich. I'll pass on both Yoga and skateboarding. Love the Shakespeare quote. I've been to Paris by train but not to Rouen. The meal sounds like a nice calorie and carb splurge. My alternative is Pineapple Boat, Rack of Lamb with with Tomato Couscous, and Garlic Pearls, and Black Forest Cake as served on MS Prinsendam May 24, 2015. 11. @StLouisCruisers so sorry to hear that but good that you're definitely out Thursday. And summer just began here, 5:13AM. I think it varies by latitude, earlier further north and a bit later to the south. Roy
  12. It won't go on the list but I have a bit of a celebration. Luggage Forward picks up the big bag for my QM2 cruise July 1 Wednesday, and today I basically finished getting it packed. There may be an adjustment or 3 but I could easily send it just as it is. Roy
  13. I almost never turn away from a thread unless I lose interest in the topic. I have found CC's "Ignore User" function has had very beneficial effects on my blood pressure. Fortunately, I have never had to ignore any dailyites and our preferences are different but I highly recommend that function. Roy
  14. Today's sunrise photo was taken just outside my neighborhood Middle School. I hadn't noticed when I took the picture the reflection off the basketball backboard. Roy

  17. I'll pass on taking a cat to work since I don't have a cat and I don't think it would be appreciated at the fire station, the closest I have come to work in the last 15+ years. My pharmacy when I was growing up made very tasty ice cream sodas. Dutch Harbor Alaska is my favorite place for viewing Eagles, especially one WW2-era shipyard. I have not been to Souda. Love the quote from the Alchemist. The menu selection is great and I think I take it rather than giving an alternative. 19. So sorry to hear this. Is it one day at a time from now on? Roy
  20. Tubs in those family oceanview cabins are so short as to be little more than glorified showers. Probably about 3 feet long. Roy
