  1. I have a braided rubber tubing line with loops on each end. Much easier since you don't have to have clothes pins to use it. You just poke the edge of the garment between the braided part. Also stops clothes just slipping off when drying. Like this
  2. In addition to what I already said. Once you download the passport/photos it may say "pending review". Don't worry about it. Just keep on completing the checkin. The "pending review" just means they MIGHT need to confirm the passports when you actually check in at the terminal, and/or take new photos. Also, the "pending" status MAY or MAY NOT clear before your cruise (usually about 3 days out).
  3. They do ask you to download a photo of your passport (two pages - the one with the info and the other with the signature) when doing your online check in. Also need head shot photos of each person.
  4. OK, for those Princess experts - I can see where Princess offered two long (19 and 29 night) Ireland cruise/tours this year. For next year they're only showing a couple of 2 week cruise/tours. Is it likely they will be showing the longer cruises later?
  5. Disney ships don't have a particularly large roll call following on this site. You could start the roll call yourself by starting a similar thread on the Roll Call forum. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/349-disney-roll-calls/
  6. If the cruise is a round trip Seattle cruise, getting off in Victoria could be an issue. Time was there was no problem doing this, as long as you gave the cruise line a head's up that you wanted to do so. Lately (like the last few years), getting off in a foreign port on a US port round trip cruise (Seattle round trip, but getting off in Vancouver,, for example) has been denied. The issue is even one person getting off in the foreign port instead of back in the US port, changes the cruise from a round trip to a foreign destination cruise for everyone onboard. The customs/immigration paperwork for the latter is more involved than the paperwork for the former. Many cruise lines have opted to stop doing this and will deny early disembarkation for this reason. If the cruise is a Vancouver round trip, and someone wants to disembark at Victoria (last port) I don't know how this is handled.
  7. OP doesn't specify where the cruise they are contemplating starts. Generally, if the cruise is a Seattle round trip, the cruise lines don't allow disembarking early (in a foreign port). And the PVSA wouldn't allow early disembarking if it's a US port.
  8. Yes, it can happen. You have to be pretty diligent about checking the website to catch them.
  9. There's really no specific time that a temporary passport is good for. It depends on the situation it's issued under. It can be for as short a time as necessary to get someone back to the US (weeks or months), or up to a year.
  10. I can only report my brother-in-law was refused entry (for dinner) wearing shorts. He knew this would happen, but he tried anyway. Made him mad enough to not join us for dinner for the rest of the cruise.
  11. Just going to add - temporary passports are not full passports (only valid for a limited time - usually a year). But it costs the same as a full passport.
  12. Just remember, you're only a first timer once.
  13. Sorry, don't have pictures, but we've gotten several coasters and a foam "I'm #1" finger (Princess). Also got a nice windbreaker on DCL.
  14. We once booked a cruise on a Thursday night, departing on Sunday. Generally, you can book a cruise up until the day before, but usually you'll have to call if it's within 3 days. We looked it up on line, but had to call to make the reservation.
  15. A smart decision. It's always best to ask for such decisions in writing. An email would work. Maybe try calling that special services number and asking them for confirmation of what you've been told.
  16. I find Elemis shampoo makes my hair super dry and kinky. The conditioner works, though.
  17. We've done 4 river cruises with Vantage and a trip to China (that had a short river trip included). We currently have a Norway trip booked. Yes, we like Vantage.
  18. IMO, of course, you won't have a bored 3 year old on your hands. There's lots to do onboard and in ports that don't require signing up for or reservations. Yes, the more popular activities get swept up by the higher loyalty cruisers, but don't give up hope. Keep checking online every couple of days at random times. Since DCL activities are not paid for when booked (unlike on other cruiselines) sometimes people will book an activity "just in case" and cancel and they firm up their plans. You can also check once onboard for a wait list for activities. Royal Tea isn't really a good measure of whether you'll be able to book anything, as the spaces for it are pretty limited. Also, there are Open House times in the kid's clubs where the child can attend with a parent.
  19. Correct. But, by boarding in a non-US port, it changes the type of cruise (for everyone) from a closed-loop one to a foreign one. The clearance procedures for a foreign cruise vs a closed loop one are different, and more involved. Cruise lines have opted in the past to no incur those changes and denied boarding down line.
  20. No knowing what cruise you're taking the best answer is maybe yes, maybe no. My best GUESS - probably won't be able to do it.
  21. Some do. Some don't. Wear what makes you comfortable.
  22. https://www.us-passport-service-guide.com/nicaragua-entry-requirements.html Foreigners must carry a document with proof of identity with them at all times while in Nicaragua, and face risk of detention if they cannot produce a document when asked. This document may be in the form of a permanent residency card, a temporary residency card, a passport, or a travel document with an entry stamp.
