  1. Any chain is fine with me as they can't be any worse than what's currently offered. With any chain X would need to adhere to a certain recipe and food quality that is immune from the bean counters
  2. Porters will fight for their tip opportunities by claiming its too time consuming, waste of paper, printers could go down, etc
  3. The other thing is to get a credit card that gives you back 3% on travel purchases; the costco citi card has no annual fee and gives back 3% on travel but there are better cards with travel perks (assuming you would utilize them) with annual fees
  4. Good burgers all start with the beef, there's only so much Gordon Ramsey could do with a low quality beef patty. Simply using fresh beef, put them on the grill or pan, dash onto the raw beef a heavy dash of Worchester sauce (adds Unami) and garlic powder and you're good to go. If you want to get more fancy, you can mix in other ingredients into the burgers with many using a package of hidden valley ranch
  5. This should be a wake up call to others to be proactive by: 1) Buying airtags/tile device 2) Double check your credit cards to see if they offer any kind of travel insurance 3) If NO to #2, considering opening a credit card with travel insurance. I have no problem with cards that offer an annual fee assuming you receive the value from the perks but if one is searching for a no annual fee card with good rewards, I have (and personally own) the Chase Freedom Unlimited which gives you 1.5% back on everything. Do not consider the Celebrity credit card, it's far below 1.5% back
  6. Could you please do an internet speed test and if it isn't too much trouble take a pic of the buffet station (not pizza/pasta or salad) during dinner?
  7. Blu cheese souffle and the filet which is typically offered on both chic nights
  8. It's most likely gone forever. You can carry on two bottles per person
  9. Without a doubt making them at home is the way to go. I occasionally enjoy an In and Out burger (hate their starchy fries) and don't really like McDonalds but would be much happier if they replaced the Mast grill with Mcdonalds...lol
  10. I do not understand your style of humor most of the time...lol
  11. Carnival's brand ambassador, John H, often fits this description but I can't think of any big youtubers doing this as they mostly publish 2+ weekly videos about cruise news and when on board have ship tours. We have to remember X's Capt Kate is an influencer and posts some quite entertaining X content sometimes "behind the scenes"
  12. I challenged myself to find the worst thing to eat on an X ship and its the mast grill hot dogs, they are impressively awful. Like X's complimentary desserts, the mast grill/MDR/buffet bland burgers aren't worth the calories; many have to load them with toppings to get them down. Either way, when you walk by the Mast Grill tables you'll see lots of partially eaten burgers and/or hot dogs left on plates. The fries are descent, though
  13. Pre-pandemic a CCer stated United gives priority tags for those with status American's FAQ states you DO receive them with participating cruise lines without giving any further info Many state they are not charged for overweight bags
  14. There are the porthole balconies which tend to be far cheaper than SVs. While I’d prefer a “regular” balcony, portholes are better than IVs IMO
  15. Pickpocketer are going to pickpocket, always recommended you take precautions
  16. Key West required an ID to get back on the ship. I saw a passenger ahead of us not have their ID but did have a ship key card, the Key West employee radioed the ship security, they sent a security person who scanned their card and they both walked onto the ship; all in all would guess that only cost the passenger a few extra minutes. By no means am I suggested someone should intentionally leave an ID behind, just pointed out its not a super big deal
  17. I oversimplified, IV hater = those who prefer a traditional balcony
  18. Good datapoint for those who are diamond going from RCI to another ship but the OP is wanting to go from an X ship to another X ship; it would appears their best course of action would be to ask guest services
  19. Thanks for sharing. How did you let Royal know, did you speak to guest services? Personally if I had to wait a half hour for a shuttle I'd walk (SE FL usually isn't that hot/humid until late in the morning)
  20. Take a picture of your passport and email it to yourself. Passport is the safest in a safe on the ship, while the following is incredibly rare, odds are highly that you would encounter a pickpocket or robbery while in port over cruise ship crew breaking into your safe and stealing a passport
  21. An "insider" tip is to have an al la carte lunch at Sushi/Raw, they do serve non-seafood dishes as well. We aren't huge fans of most of X's food and enjoy eating as many meals as possible on land restaurants including on embarkation day Besides Zeniths and B2Bs, someone correct me if I'm wrong, AQ is excluded and while suite guests have the option to dine there, like any other meal, you'd be better off going to Luminae over the MDR
  22. Yup. I'm Elite+ and twice their initial quote was for only the regular elite discount of 30%; made a mental note from now on to specifically validate with them it's 35% before they start to price it out. They probably should change the name of the Elite+ tier to make it easier for the employees to identify
  23. The answer is in the post just above your post
  24. No, you should have the option to use your 90mins once you log in. Yes, you pay the prorated amount per night
