  1. I believe you're wanting to see menus for those with dietary restrictions such as gluten free, you could start a travel blog listing this very info
  2. 100% agree they'll never do that to the existing E-Class; just stating doing so would be far cheaper than the engineering required to convert IVs into traditional balconies. Hoping the next class has traditional balconies
  3. Nowadays anyone is welcome to identify as whatever they want
  4. The other dynamic is you can purchase specialty dining which is at most $64.90/person (includes the 18%) and it gets cheaper if you purchase the package. To expand on that concept you could book a RCL/Carnival sailing and have the MDR steakhouse selection of the petite Filet and Maine lobster tail for around $25/person and not worry about reservations
  5. Well, that was your first mistake as X customer service seems very uninformed with the actual onboard experience. @DaKahuna nailed it and I'll expand... 1) Prices for devices are in your cruise planner, it does get slightly cheaper (per device) with the more devices and is not a fixed amount 2) If you buy the 4 device plan, you can use up to 4 devices at the same time 3) Your actual devices do not matter, you can bring 8 devices and log them all in at different times BONUS, some devices (PC laptops, Pixels, etc) have a hotspot feature that will turn an incoming wifi signal into a hotspot allows you to connect multiple devices. Unfortunately the iPhone's hotspot doesn't work that way and requires cell phone reception
  6. Yes and also airline baggage fees are free for those with airline status and/or have certain airline credit cards
  7. Ditto but have never been in a suite, did the deluxe porthole. I strongly disagree that equal amounts love and hate the IVs, there are more IV haters than there are IV lovers both on CC and in real life. If you don't spend much time on a traditional balcony, you'll probably enjoy the more space an IV provides. I have stated several times if they wanted to evolve, they should find a creative way to make the bi-fold doors weather tight and when closed allow the AC to run. That would solve the top complaints about them
  8. So will tipping and rule enforcement
  9. Instead of all the cutbacks such as removing the beef wellington, think of all the money X would save if they only hired women? (Just a recycled joke/punchline)
  10. Thanks for being the FIRST one to share this information...April Fools!
  11. Yes, you should be worried about that TikTok star, Capt Kate, taking over the ship! (I'm a huge fan of her)
  12. 25% bonus on Flying Blue transfer right now. It's the Air France/KLM program which is in the SkyTeam Alliance which includes Delta. Generally speaking, you'd want to find award travel you want before making the transfer
  13. If this is an April Fools day joke, simply brilliant
  14. I used the luggage valet in Seattle on X and for whatever reason my bag never left the ship the day I did. I got it back on turn around day coincidently the same day I learned about and reached out to the X Exec Team. I'll share some details. 1) Use a tracking device like AirTags/Tile 2) If you want travel insurance to cover luggage valet, you need to tell the insurance company it is a 3rd party as they could wrongly assume luggage valet is part of X or the airline. The luggage valet company is a 3rd party contractor/vendor called Bags inc; therefore most travel insurances do not cover luggage lost by them. Furthermore, X wasn't particularly helpful when I tried to file an insurance claim because in my case they were silent just that basically "don't call us, we'll call you if it shows up" which was why I reached out to the exec team
  15. Carnival, RCI and X all starting to charge for additional MDR lobster tails; Carnival and RCI threw us a bone by upgrading the tail from Spiny to Maine...X still serves us Spiny
  16. X seemed to have removed the Ribeye, prime rib and wellington this year but has brought back the first two
  17. This isn't exclusive to X but open food venues are only only for 90mins during breakfast and lunch, let's go with they do this to assist those with intermittent fasting...ha ha
  18. I believe the exact statement I heard during the Q&A of an Edge sailing was that they were "more fuel-efficient". We cannot dispute the more aerodynamic the more fuel can be saved yet we would need an expert to determine how much more aerodynamic an IV would be compared to traditional balconies. You are correct there are ships other than E-class ships that have a simular concept to the IV as X was not the first to install them. The "OG" was the "French balcony concept" where two manually sliding doors slide in opposite directions which opens to the outside. When these were open they did not add depth beyond perhaps a few inches and had a railing for safety. The first IV version I can find which has an motorized upper and lower section was on Avalon Waterways in 2014. Also a few other river/expedition ships installed them prior to X
  19. Thanks for sharing and ditto when I was on the Edge but from the Q&A session
  20. To piggy back, even if you don’t plan on gambling much you can and should pull the max of $5k/day at least once for the credit card points. Also the Citi Costco card has no annual fee and offers 3% back on travel and dining
