  1. According to TAs, some who post on here, they have no problem selling their most expensive product, the Retreat. Due to this high demand they're probably trying to further separate the Retreat experience for everyone else. They could have filed to for BK during the pandemic where they were receiving very little revenue and didn't. Also, while I doubt they'll be filing for BK any time soon, if they did it doesn't mean they cease operations
  2. Unfortunately it's inevitable it'll eventually go away for insides-reg balconies and perhaps later to CC and AQ...Its not a question of "if" but "when", I believe whenever they make their next round of cut backs or if Princess gets rid of it, X will follow. I could also see them greatly reduce turndown service to closing the drapes, leaving the dailies, pillow chocolate and be done
  3. For 2023, the Summit visits the Akureyri inbound on Aug 16th and outbound Aug 20th Rental car pricing: Aug 16th and 20th is $300/day with Eurocar Aug 16th and 20th is $182/day for an automatic or save $10-$20 if you okay with a manual https://akureyrirentacar.is/ I I haven't dove super deep into this but would imagine you're on the hook for expensive gas for sure, potential mileage, potential parking and potential attraction entrance fees putting you over $200/day and possibly $250+. Some may still value renting a car for the freedom however on Aug 20th, the office doesn't open until an hour after the Summit arrives (Aug 16th is fine). There are both ship and private tours cheaper depending what you're trying to do/see Remember rates (both the rental agency and exchange rate) fluctuate yet you have to have the right expectations as it's highly unlikely it's going to drop $50+
  4. Perhaps try it again and enter a later flight departure? May need to find a later flight number
  5. A CC regular said a month ago that he spoke to the Retreat manager about his dissatisfaction of the steak and they said there's a different and presumable cheaper beef supplier for all restaurants expect for specialties
  6. Absolutely as current discounted/comped offers are solely based on your PREVIOUS sailings play
  7. No, that offer was on board only and based on your previous sailings play. You can call the BCC and ask if you have any offers but now they the review your play from your most recent sailing, the Solstice
  8. https://www.mylivelobster.com/seafood-university/maine-lobster/maine-vs-canadian-lobsters-difference#:~:text=Canadian lobster is much less, all over the world crave.
  9. Sounds like the best course of action is to simply ask your waitstaff for the 4oz kids filet. This is because... It could be available but not on the menu It could be on the menu but they won't allow adults to order it
  10. Went a month earlier so odds are it should be a tad warmer…I believe it hardly went over 70f and can get quite cold at night although you don’t need to leave the interior of the ship at night. At a minimum I would recommend a sweater, hoodie or a light insulated jacket. I always recommend a cheap air freshener for the room, spare phone charging cable and cheap pair of backup sunglasses. I’m also a big fan of a backpack for tours to be hands free. If you snorkel they’ll be wetsuits. Age average was 55 (my guess)
  11. Yes, menu is in the app. I believe all ships have resumed allowing you to order off the MDR. During the summer they started to claim staff shortages but since the fall they have been able to get anything off the MDR
  12. When it comes to investments there's only two things that matter, when you BUY and when you SELL. With that being said, one of the smartest investors, Buffet, recommends low-fee index funds like the S&P 500. Additionally, if investing causes you stress, you'll probably live longer if you buy index funds and never check on them
  13. Biggest different IMO is the M-Class's indoor solarium pool is like a giant whirlpool while the S-Class is a regular pool. At the spa the S-Class has individual thermal loungers and the M-Class's loungers are a giant bench
  14. It was on the Solstice (twice) which has starlink but for whatever reason seems to be greatly throttled down. On the Solstice, during business hours with Premium the up and down mbps was about 2 (before star link it was about .5). I've seen speed tests of 25mbps on the Beyond. Therefore it does appear that it can vary by ship
  15. For some of us, we do not want to openly advertise where on vacation, whether that's a cruise, a Mexican AI resort or even a strip hotel in Vegas, sharing your vacation details causes more harm than good for most. If you're outrighted asked you should answer truthfully however, you can be vague while still being truthful...One example of this: "I've been having wifi issues all day today <or all week>"
  16. 100%. I tell people this, if in the middle of your video call, the internet goes down and you cannot get back on for an hour, will you suffer any consequences? Generally speaking, if you need an hour long video call to share your screen/present to close a big deal, reschedule it. If you just need to listen to someone else present you should be okay assuming you have a plan if the wifi goes down I do MS Teams calls all the time, even with Starlink it's never been perfect and will do the "reconnect" thing a few times
  17. Future Cruise apparently can book anyone with an on board balcony comp into AQ class while the BCC AQ upgrade is based on play and many don't qualify
  18. Yes, generally the list is given to the Future Cruise the day after embarkation; I have visiting them twice on the Embarkation evening and they both told me to come back LATE tomorrow
  19. And it's only open for 90mins although even if you show up 5mins before they close they'll still let you dine
  20. You do receive an Elite 30% off discount but you have to call the capt club to receive both status and pre-sail stacked discount and not reg X at 1 (800) 760-0654. However, I don’t know if you can buy it yourself or if your TA has to. I’d recommend just calling yourself
  21. If you’re working remote and are actually working from home, you’re not maximizing your full potential
  22. New England native here. In case the following ever comes up in trivia. The lobster roll originated in Connecticut which is Maine lobster served hot with butter; this is often called "Connecticut style". Later came the "Maine lobster roll" (northern New England) or "Lobster salad roll" (southern New England), which serves the Maine lobster cold in mayo and some restaurants elect to bulk it up by adding "fillers" like celery
