  1. Perhaps complaining on board is NOT the best option as they may only talk to this individual sommelier. This is something that should be part of all serving crew training and brought to the Exec Office's attention
  2. If you're using Chrome, right-click on the picture and select the "search image with Google" for a reverse image search. Says it's the Beyond pulled from a drone video
  3. Is there another "private beach" tour that isn't considered a private journey? If yes, wouldn't be surprised if it's just a roped-off section with more frequent service
  4. Pickleball balls should ideally bounce; the sport was born on a badminton court but is often played on converted tennis courts. How many hours was it open? There are reports of lots of noise and therefore they limit the hours
  5. Totally agree. Another thing we hear on these boards from time to time is customers tell the TA they want a traditional balcony/CC/AQ on an E-class ship, and the TA seemingly unknowingly books them into an IV
  6. In the TA's defense, unless X sent out a memo to TAs, the TAs would have to hear traditional was gone from other passengers and then pass on hearsay info not confirmed by X. My WAG (Wild A$$ Guess) as to why you have the option to pick traditional on E-Class is they have the option to go back to the old way of both traditional or anytime if for whatever reason X wants to. The only other reason I can of as to why X would leave traditional as an option on E-Class ships is at the moment, X doesn't want to spend the money to update their dining reservation system
  7. https://www.bluechipcluboffers.com/ You'll need your Capts Club number
  8. Nice! I don't know, I'm not sure if the casino allotted rooms are allotted per sailing which ignores the room type (for example, 100 staterooms) or by room type (25 insides, 25 OVs, and 25 balconies, 25 AQ)
  9. The good sailings run out of casino-allotted rooms quickly, therefore, it's best to check your offers once a day. It only takes seconds. When I called about an Apex sailing minutes after receiving the offer email, it already run out of casino-allotted rooms. The Rep told me if I want an E-Class sailing then I need to check the offer website every day and if I see one I like, I need to call ASAP. Every sailing can have a different amount of casino-allotted rooms 1) There doesn't seem to be any sort of schedule and it's somewhat based on your play 2) Call as it's the only way to pick the exact sailing and a room, they are open on the weekend 3) Again just call, get immediately booked before they potentially run out of good sailings and you can choose your cabin number
  10. If you've ever felt seasick on a cruise ship, you should book mid. Closer to the front or rear will simply have more motion than the mid
  11. Please apply your expertise on the subject, when a cruise ship's faucet water comes out brown, is it 100% because of rust and cannot be for any other reason?
  12. I do agree they were unnecessarily pushy and this same situation can happen at any land bar/restaurant. The two words "I'm sober", are powerful, there isn't a comeback
  13. The Port of L.A. (San Pedro) won't let the porters use blank tags, rather there's a desk where a one-port worker checks your name against your room number and then gives you tags. In December '22, that was a surprisingly long line that had zero protection from the weather. I was told this is because these sailings were rarely full, there were a lot of room changes from MoveUp and surprise upgrades and a lot of passengers used their old room numbers or old luggage tags
  14. Regardless of what the website app says, there is no early/late traditional dining on the E-Class ships like the Apex. There are 4 MDRs, you can go to any of them; some may have longer waits than others. Disclaimer, this is how it's been for the past couple of years, and currently, things can change but I doubt they would. It was previously a complicated process, mixing some with traditional and some with select/anytime. Most other cruise lines including X have two separate dining rooms if they offer both anytime and traditional
  15. Often, this has something to do with what they call in the industry "deadheads" who are aircrew/pilots on non-revenue tickets that the airline deems essential to get them to a different airport. This was what happened in 2017 when a doctor was dragged off a plane and ultimately concussed, the crew needed to get four passengers to give up their seats for the four deadheads. This was the first time something like this happened, yet it went viral because it was the perfect storm (he was a doctor, the video showed he was not physically resisting and it shows his head was bloodied) and that ultimately got all the US carriers to up the $$$ they can offer to get passengers to voluntary give up their seat
  16. It varies by airline and depends on how they handle TA bookings like FBC. One needs to ensure their FBC/TA flight is appearing on the airline's website because if your airline loyalty number isn't properly linked, not a chance of an upgrade. Generally speaking, booking through a TA like FBC results in a lower (most often referred to as "discounted") fare class than booking directly with the airline and therefore slightly moves you down a rung on the upgrade list
  17. Since X goes to foreign ports, the bigger threat is being arrested in another country where you don't have these rights
  18. There's an extremely good chance you'd get them on the ship but that isn't guaranteed. Also, too many people shoot themselves in the foot by saying something along the lines: of "I heard from ABC I could bring this XYZ onto the ship, is this true?" Be sure not to bring up alcohol to anyone working in the terminal
  19. Email both dive companies separately, and say something along the lines of (you're welcome to copy and paste and update the info): "We're two adult certified divers with recent dives arriving by the Celebrity Summit cruise ship on Oct 26 at 8 am. They are NOT offering diving tours through the ship: 1) With the ship's 8am arrival time, are we able to dive with you? 2) If yes we can dive with you, do you offer transportation, and if not, recommend we take a taxi? 3) If no we cannot dive with you, would you be able to recommend any other diving operators?"
  20. During the restart, it was the "good old days", put $1000 into a slot machine, play it through a total loss, can basically receive any sailing you want comped, excluding the ships without casinos (Galapagos) for just fees and taxes. They even had a $20/night upgrade to go from a balcony to AQ. The Greenland cruises in AQ were like $13K all-in when I booked them
  21. That's shipboard/daytime. It does mention shorts in the nighttime under Smart Casual
  22. Sounds like you want a more "traditional" standard, as "modernize" would mean more casual. The dress code always trends toward more casual, 20-25 years ago it was rare for offices to allow jeans other than casual days. Many companies that now want their remote workers to return to the office have relaxed the dress code to eliminate one pain point. You now have X more aligning itself with RCI, there's now Coco Cay, more short cruises, cruises out of Port Canaveral which attracts young families to Disney World, etc, all these new things are going to attract more casual and often younger cruisers. There's a dress code violation every dinner, if one doesn't see it, they're not looking hard enough. Perhaps X is intentionally not enforcing the dress code to not tick off the younger generation. Maybe they want to compete with Virgin. Just some food for thought
  23. At the moment, no, X does not have a program like RCI where they list free cruise QR codes by tier point levels
  24. No credit check enroll/play. The credit check is only if you want a "marker" or a line of credit with the casino which eliminates the need for bringing large quantities of cash.
