  1. To add, in many cases these third-world countries don't always have STRONG air conditioning. When it's 100f out, their A/C may only get it down to 85f which is better than nothing but not the 70f you were expecting
  2. You rarely have a sailing where everyone shows up, there's usually a few who have an unexpected emergency, missed flight, flight delay, etc
  3. I can't speak on the other two's behalf, but I want to point out that you can continue to comment on Stickys or "pinned" posts. I didn't see anyone "complaining" and I also didn't see anyone being directly rude toward you. If you somehow found my post offensive, that was not my intention...Cheers!
  4. Here's an April 2024 article about RCG's Q1 earnings call, a little bit more RCG-specific info, yet it still bundles RCI, X and SS https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2024/04/26/royal-caribbean-executives-talk-amazing-demand-beach-club-ordering-new-ships-and-more Some Cliff notes... 80% of RCG cruisers were from North America New cruisers that try a RCG cruise are seeing return rates over 30% higher compared to 2019 Millennials and younger generations have gained 11 percentage points share compared to 2019,
  5. Would be fantastic if there were no new tipping or dress code posts that have been asked for decades. Other forums have an user-editable "wiki"
  6. I reached out to X/Celebrity on X/Twitter that their FAQ is outdated as it only states "one or two". I was told it's 3 when it's 12 nights or longer but perhaps the # of sea days is part of the equation
  7. Here are more data points. X has won this award for years along with other cruise lines. For 2024, W.S. awarded X, VV, and NCL. I just googled Wine Speculator Princess and they won 18 in 2023 but it doesn't appear Princess won any for 2024 despite W.S. naming the other cruise lines that did win This award may be meaningless so it made me wonder how many awards, some will surely be meaningless, both X and Princess have. Neither cruise line lists 2024 awards yet, the best guess as to why is because the year isn't over; so I did this for 2023: Princess: 56 awards X: 41 Awards I had to add the 14+11+16 below as when you click on the "view all 2023 awards" button (I highlighted it in yellow), you get the "bad request" dead page. If X sees this post, I'd imagine they'd fix it quickly
  8. We got back from the Maldives about two months ago and saw a small cove and I'd guess there were 5K pieces of debris most of which were bottles. I mentioned it to the guide who victim-shamed me (lol) and said it's the tourist's fault they need fancy bottled water and refuse to drink their perfectly clean tap water. I just explained to him, including the 2.5-hour layover, that it was a 24-hour flight, only here for a week, which means we don't want to spend any extra on the toilet if we can avoid it
  9. This isn't directed at @miched, I'm quoting their content to expand on these duck events. In most cases, cities don't buy 1000s of ducks from Amazon, they hire a company to run the event. The "duck rental" company handles everything including launching, recovering, and cleaning the ducks. Generally, if a city has a closed waterway, they have the event there, and if not the company takes great care to prevent them from "escaping". Cruising is currently very dirty, the primary reason is they use Heavy Fuel Oil which can produce a layer of soot on E-Class SV balconies. Passenger behavior such as not leaving food on the plate and re-using towels is a drop in the bucket. Same with the ducks, I just say everything in moderation, reuse found ducks and maybe don't buy hundreds per sailing. These ducks can find their way into open water and harm marine life
  10. X not having any typos is far more impressive than actually winning the wine award 🙃
  11. I quoted you as you stated the Connie and Infinity may leave, stick those in Norway for the Baltic sailings. Have the X ships with shore power sail the Med
  12. The program is very complex, Poland is suing over it. Therefore, don't be surprised if deadlines are extended and/or temporary waivers issued. Also, when things like this happen, European non-EU ports make it known they're open for business without the EU requirements
  13. I'm not telling anyone how to enjoy your vacation so if staying on the ship brings you more joy than getting off, stay on. I think even spending 15 minutes off the ship is just a nice change of scenery, browse a gift shop for a few minutes even if you don't plan on buying anything
  14. I've seen people take pictures of name tags, yet for most, that probably means they didn't ask for their last name. Then who knows what they actually said in the survey "Gabby was the best, promote her immediately!". Worst case scenario, another girl named Gabby gets promoted...lol
  15. Celebrity/X's social media team on X/Twitter has been awesome as they seem to have POCs on every ship and corporate. Answers may take a week but have always received a satisfactory answer About a year ago I asked about the revolutionary schedule, and their response:
  16. We can take it a step further as she said "CONTINUOUSLY making improvements" which is the exact opposite of a single-stop dry dock "revolution"
  17. It was advertised correctly, we write the questions and she (and/or her team) writes the answers. They even stated it's possible she might not even answer I do agree that the older questions should have appeared first Edit to add: It seems like people believed it was presented as "What actions can we take to improve your experience on X?"
  18. If she answered, it would be a safe bet she would have replied with something like this, obviously replacing the beverages with specialty dining pricing
  19. Seems like their original revolution plans were created around 2017, a lot has changed including X's leadership. Entirely possible a Revolutionized Eclipse in 2025 doesn't look like the Millie or Sillie
  20. I've always wondered about this. For the crew, it's all about luck. In a perfect world, the passenger writes "John Doe, our waiter from Blu, was the best", yet how often does that happen (rhetorical)? More realistically... -No last name, name tags only list first names -If no last name, hopefully, no one else with the same first name The passenger doesn't mention the job/section -Passenger can't even remember how to spell the name well enough for X to identify
  21. To buy in, you either need to pay at the cashier cage or the option should be in your cruise planner and is usually discounted when there are flash sales. You can also buy it now and cancel it by going to the cashier so if it's part of the flash sale going on now, you should buy it
  22. #RememberCookieGate would be quite the conversation starter...lol
  23. I really want one that says "Preview" lol
