  1. Good advice. We had a near incident on the subway with a guy dressed as a Priest!
  2. Seems like the overhead space will be difficult for the aisle seats .....
  3. This is Good News! 👏 We're on the Reflection Nov 2nd and sure hope Andy is right! The ship is sold out and I can only imagine the complaints they'll get if the menu is as poor as it's been lately. May have to cancel our Princess cruise early next year if the MDR menus have truly improved! I'm glad to hear some of the big shots are cruising now on the Equinox and if they get around and talk to passengers they'll learn a lot.
  4. Now I'm a little confused. We're on a Princess cruise in April and we booked the Crowne Plaza. Two years ago, we walked to the Majestic Princess from the hotel easily. I see there are 3 ships in port this time - Princess, Carnival and Europa. Any reason to think the Princess ship may dock further away from the Crowne Plaza than last time and we should change our hotel? Thank you.
  5. Thank you for the info and suggestions. Sounds like we'd have to go over to Long Beach to fill some time on turn-around day. If you think of something else I'm open for ideas.
  6. In April, on our turn-around day in San Pedro, anyone have any recommendations what to do there?
  7. What if partner wants the drink pkg and I only want the non-alcoholic pkg, can we do this?
  8. Thanks. Hadn't thought of that! There are a couple of good restaurants in Tiberon we know of. Easy to get to Tiberon from our son's house too. I don't know how old you guys are, but I truly envy you all the traveling you do. We are into our 80's and just can't take those overseas flights anymore. We're wiped out for Days afterwards, even flying business class. Only go as far as the coasts in the US. Luckily we did as many far-away destinations as possible over the past 30+ years so are content with 4 hours or less flights. Especially fun to read your write-ups on the different cruises you're on, so keep 'em coming! Have a wonderful cruise. Will be looking forward to your postings.
  9. We're traveling with two other couples and we've all been to the ports before, but two weeks with good friends/wine/food (?), it will be great. Our son & family live in Mill Valley, so we usually ferry over to Sausalito, have lunch and go up to their home for a little while. Hopefully the weather will be nice in April. We were on the Majestic Princess a year or so ago and the ship is lovely. The food was nothing to rave about, so this time, we'll just enjoy some nice restaurants ashore in Mexico and California. If anyone knows of some really good (not necessarily expensive) restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, Cabo, San Diego, or Monterey, please let us know. We're not doing any specialty restaurants on this cruise and will just enjoy the ports. Jim, followed your posts for several years. If you take the April 12th cruise, be sure to let us know. We'd love to meet you.
  10. We are loyal Celebrity fans, but recently booked a b2b in April from LA-Mex-LA-Pacific Coast on Discovery Princess, one of their newer ships.
  11. Our cruise on the Reflection in November will be our 56th cruise and we're elite on RC, Princess and Celebrity. To be honest, we are not wealthy and most of the time we were in Inside/OV cabins and we got to visit so many wonderful countries. Since the pandemic we choose a balcony. For the past 10 years or so we're pretty exclusive to Celebrity (prefer the S class ships). Price, food, entertainment and of course service has been great! I will find out for myself in November re the MDR food, etc. However, based on price and itinerary, we have booked a Princess b2b next Spring out of LA along the Mexican coast and then the Pacific coast. We generally travel with two other couples, and they enjoy Viking and Oceania, but have been quite happy going with us on Celebrity. Hoping we'll be pleased as usual with our cruise in November. Now in our 80's, we don't care much about the ports. The ship is our destination and good food/wine with friends is what we enjoy. Hope Celebrity is listening........
  12. It wasn't too long ago they changed the evening Buffet menu right? Everyone was complaining. Now the Buffet is "crowded" and the food is better than the MDR? What is going on? Our group just booked the Discovery Princess, a new ship for a B2B LA next April. Altho we're elite on Princess, we have only sailed on them one time in the past 10 years. There were things we liked but still prefer Celebrity (and food was always top of the list). Dining with friends and enjoying good food (not necessarily "gourmet") is a very important part of cruising for some of us. Even if the menu is slimmed down, what they offer should be GOOD. The ports are incidental as we don't make those long overseas flights anymore. Happy cruising to all!
  13. As a veteran Celebrity cruiser, this is so sad to hear. The Silhouette & the Reflection have always been our favorites (size, restaurants, etc.). We'll be on the Reflection again in early November and will see for ourselves, but I am so sorry to hear what's going on with Celebrity.
  14. Hi all, What's our best bet? - we could split up into 2 Uber SUV's but thought perhaps we could get some advice here in order to stay together. Thanks in advance. 😁
  15. I'd like to know answer to this question too. Is the insurance actually valid if you add it to your reservation at time of initial deposit? Travel agent has advised me to wait until final payment to add Insurance on Princess cruise but I am concerned there could be a change in medical treatments or something like that and then they wouldn't pay because we didn't take it on Day l. Hopefully there is someone out there who has knowledge of this situation. Thanks all.
  16. If I have the "plus" pkg and want a higher price wine or two, can I just pay the difference or do they charge the whole drink price?
  17. It's been awhile since we've been on Princess. We're looking at the Discovery Princess..... What are the "traditional" dining times and the "any time" dining hours?? Thank you.
  18. So, can I start a cruise in Vancouver that ends in Seattle and then stay on B2B from Seattle to Seattle? It's confusing.... Thanks.
  19. If you just want a bottle of water, will they use one of the vouchers?
  20. Funny you mention the Butter.....We definitely noticed the difference in quality on the Silhouette last November. Celebrity had been using a brand called "Presidente." It's now like you said, some kind of margarine and not very good. More cost-cutting I guess. Most people probably won't even notice. 😄
  21. I know this is very unusual; but here it happened to you too. Thanks for the warning.
  22. Hi, we've dealt with many TA's over the years, including this one that starts with a V. Paid our Final payment to the TA 2 days ago but it still hasn't been charged to our credit card. The actual "Celebrity" Final date isn't until Aug 4. Don't think this has ever happened to us. Usually everyone takes their money as fast as you charge it, even if ahead of Final payment date. The TA told me he has sent our payment to Celebrity. There are two other couples in our group and same thing with them. No charge yet. I will call on Monday but just wonder if anyone has experienced this before. Thanks.
  23. Our TA marked our reservations for Early Dining (group of 14). Do we need to do anything else? I'm assuming we should probably go to the DR on embarkation and check to be sure we have reservations?
