  1. We were on the Silhouette with another couple last November having cruised Celebrity with them several times. We had a couple of misses here and there in the DR but there were always other choices. Then our friends went on the Oceania Regatta this past April and when I asked them how the food was, they said they "thought the food was better" on Celebrity! Obviously, they did enjoy their cruise tho as they've booked another one on Oceania in October and we are all booked again on the Reflection in November. They did not try to convert us to Oceania. 😁 Just thought it was interesting as I've always heard how far superior Oceania is to Celebrity.
  2. We booked with a large online travel agency for first time. I would like to get a copy of the actual Celebrity booking as well as the travel agent's booking document. I emailed travel agent but no response yet. Is there a problem for travel agent to give me the actual Celebrity booking confirmation? Thanks.
  3. We did this cruise several years ago on our one and only HAL (Westerdam) cruise and loved it! They had a bridge director who gave lessons in the mornings and we played bridge in the afternoons so kept busy on sea days. Envy you!!
  4. For us, itinerary and quality of food is important, quantity not so much....you can always order extras.
  5. For what it's worth. On the Silhouette last month, our younger family members took the ship's "D" waterfalls tour and were disappointed. They only got to 2 falls. There were a couple other ships in port and it was so crowded they moved at a snail's pace. They did the swimming with the turtles, the stingrays in Antigua and something else. Very pleased with the other tours.
  6. I doubt you'll notice any areas you can't go on the Silhouette. Higher level cabins have a special dining area and lounge/pool area, but you'll probably not even notice them. There are several bars/lounges, pools and the Sky Lounge that are open to all. We love the Silhouette and the specialty restaurants....Lawn Club Grill and Murano's. Hope you do too.
  7. Really excellent review without every single detail of your day and numerous pictures of Food! Very helpful regarding some of the ports and you're absolutely right, Woodwind snorkeling is great. We've enjoyed it several times over 30+ years of cruising. Unfortunately I can only live "vicariously" now and we've reached the age where it's too difficult anymore. Mostly stay on board and just enjoy the ocean views. Again, great review. Thanks. Happy cruising! 🚢
  8. I doubt I would have been able to tell the difference in the vodka. It was smooth tho. I think it had a little champagne in it too.
  9. I asked for one at the Martini Bar on the Silhouette (Alpr 10-20) and they told me they don't make it anymore. So disappointed. Had to settle for the Lemon Drop....😂
  10. We just returned yesterday from the Silhouette. Had a 6 night dining package, including Le Petit. Would be fine with young children, but I felt like the food was a big let down. The main course was about what I cook at home....chuck roast in my crock pot! They used to have lobster and filet..... Murano's and Lawn Club excellent as usual. Guess I just thought since it was a specialty restaurant it would be special. Restaurant Mgt told me they're "working" on 3 alternatives for the future.
  11. Appreciate everyone's info on this particular snorkel tour. Our family members had booked this tour but after reading your comments, it doesn't seem to be a good choice for inexperienced snorkelers and they have now selected another tour in St. Croix for our cruise next week. Thank You!
  12. I contacted him by email and unfortunately it seems he'll be on the Millenium, not the Silhouette during our cruise in April. 🥲
  13. THANK YOU. Love Neil Diamond! Will definitely watch for this show. First live concert I ever went to was Neil's back in the 60's when we were vacationing in Miami. Needless to say it was great.
  14. Really looking forward to your review. Our group of six will board the Silhouette on April 10th. Some have booked the Buck Island Snorkel tour, so anxious to hear how it went for you and any other tours you take. Have a great time.....and anyone who hasn't been to the Norwegian fjords definitely need to book it!
  15. Exactly the same thing here.....total waste of time!
  16. Thank You chengkp75 for explaining and clarifying so many things accurately about ships, etc. I am sure many others value your contributions as much as I have over the years. And....you always do it in a calm, pleasant manner. Just wanted to say how much I appreciate your input.
  17. I should know this, but can't remember........ where do I find the move-up offers. I seem to remember I got something from Celebrity but can't find it now.
  18. We prefer the middle hump balconies (not slanted) so we can see both ends of the ship. Balcony size isn't important to us, since we rarely sit out there. The slanted balconies are great if you spend a lot of time on your balcony.
  19. So good to hear! We have a couple in our group that have never cruised before and I am hoping that our April cruise on the Silhouette hooks them. Thanks for the review.
  20. This should be a good one to book.....I'll bet the food will be excellent on this cruise. Wait....will she even eat in the MDR?
  21. We are booked here for April cruise. Did you try any of the restaurants near this hotel?
  22. Based on all the negative comments regarding food options lately, perhaps Ms. Perloff and staff might consider going "undercover"on a few different cruises to find out for themselves exactly what the complaints are all about. Altho the CEO would most likely be recognized and it's hard to believe she could be treated like any regular passenger, I'm thinking there are other responsible people who could travel freely without being known.....no special treatment.....just be regular guests. It's time for Celebrity to "go to the border, oops.... the scene of the crime" and find out for themselves what they can do to stem the bad publicity they're getting. Maybe it can be "fixed" economically with a few changes in restaurant menus. Obviously you can't please all the people all the time, but since Celebrity is one of my favorites, I sure hope they'll get back to being my go-to first cruise line. Celebrity Management......Get Out There!! 🥸
  23. I got a call from the head office within just a few hours of my email expressing my concerns re our upcoming cruise. Did not include my phone number or any other identification, so they obviously cared enough to find it and call me. However, all they're doing right now is making note of our complaints, so who knows what will fall out in the weeks to come. We have a couple of new cruisers going with us in April and of course they're quite excited about it. I just hope they aren't underwhelmed with the food choices that I've been hearing about. We have some great restaurants here in the Dallas area and although we wouldn't expect the MDR to match them, we've been pretty pleased over the years. When we moved over to Celebrity about 16 cruises ago, we "strayed" only once on Princess last year and were very disappointed with the food and service in the DR; however, the ship itself was lovely. With the new planned changes in quality of the food, they will be very similar except their prices are better! Happy cruising! 🍷
