  1. Did you mean "...adding to the Blue Lagoon.."

Since the Blue Lagoon is already on Deck 8, I think the plan is to expand the Blue Lagoon by taking over the space where Moderno's was and convert the entire area into O'Sheehans.

    That makes more sense....

  2. I received a phone call from a young lady at NCL, extension 5500, yesterday afternoon. She thanked me for cruising with NCL and asked if there was anything I needed on my upcoming cruises aboard the Getaway and Epic at the end of the month. I said something to the effect, make the days go faster, and told her my PCC and the folks at the Pre-Cruise Concierge Department had everything covered. She again wished me a bon voyage, and thanked be for choosing NCL, and said goodbye. :) I've never had that happen before.

I thought to myself, that was a classy thing for NCL to do. Anyone here had a similar experience????

I have never had that happen!! That is pretty cool!!

  3. I love eating my breakfast on the balcony and I love eating breakfast in Cagneys....What a dilemma, decisions, decisions.....On our last cruise we came upon breakfast being served in Moderno, that was nice too.....Small buffet, but no crowd. Funny thing happened, my boyfriend put his bread in the toaster...it never came out, so one of the servers came over to check it out, put in another piece of bread, that never came out either, the bread was falling out of the back on the toaster behind the table.....

  4. I just did the same. Flew home late Monday night and I just now booked the Dawn out of Boston to Bermuda for July 2016. For booking a suite we got $300 OBC, UDP, and UBP. Pretty good deal if you ask me.

That is an awesome deal!! I was already past final payment for my January cruise so I wasnt able to take advantage of that one!! I keep checking the Boston to Bermuda prices for this summer...I think I am a cruise addict!!

  5. Good then you should have a lot of fun and I hope it treats you well. Just be cautious to those around you that may be thrown into a seizure from the lights. ;) Oh...and make sure you turn up the volume all the way for the full effect of winning .50, but yet it will sound like you just wiped the machine out! :D

My boyfriend was on one of the machines near me, I think it was a Gold Miner or something, the machine went wild, he was so excited, till he realized he won 9 bucks!! LOL, I always turn the sound DOWN......or just enough for me to hear, LOL!!

  6. Ouchie, that hurts. (I did this at our breakfast at the hotel just before heading to our cruise for the Sun and it was THE.WORSE.THING.EVER! It was a fountain). :p

We are going May 1st...IF I can talk myself into keeping it. I'm really doubting myself on booking this as much as I want to go to Bermuda, the potential cold water is giving my mind second thoughts.

We were in Bermuda Mid May 2013 and 2014 and the water was pretty chilly!! We did go in after, but it definately wasnt the 80 degree water I was hoping for.

  7. Thanks for the review. We have a courtesy hold on a suite until 3pm today, but just noticed it doesn't have a balcony! As it's the only thing available, we're trying to decide whether to go for it or not. Haven't not had a balcony for so long, I wonder how much it would affect our trip.

We'd be in cabin 12010, so my questions are how far is it from the outside (or at least a smoking area)? How close to coffee? Is it worth it without the privacy of a balcony?

I am not sure where the new smoking areas are on the Dawn, but I there must be one somewhere around the pool. My boyfriend just quit smoking (but i bet he starts up again while driving from Boston to New Orleans). Suite 12010 is pretty close to the pool, so you wont have to go too far.

  8. There are machines down the wall of course, but when you start to walk down that isle, the first machine to your right is the machine. (All the machines on that isle to the right are in the round circles and usually progressive slots).

They have one's called Platinum, Diamond and Gold. It's the GOLD machine. If you are sitting at the slot, to your left are the machines lined along the wall. To your right, you can see the card tables.

They are the machines that are really bright. So look for the one that has the GOLD colors and gold bars around it, says something gold ______ and you have the machine.

Coming from the back side of the casino (from the shopping area), you will walk to your right down that row and it's on the left...the last one in the row.

    I love those machines!!

  9. I did not see any public areas that were in disrepair. The ship maybe ready for drydock but I would go on it again tomorrow if I could. Have a safe drive down. The flights for the 5 of us actually cost more than the cruise. Enjoy your cruise!

Wow, didnt realize the flights were that expensive. My boyfriend has never flown and we figured a roadtrip would be fun, stopping at Graceland!! I keep saying this is my last cruise for a while, then I book another....Thanks again!!

  10. Thanks for posting!! We are in a family suite opposite where yours was, 12020 on January 25, we have been in the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite and loved the suite life. There are only two of us this time, so we should have plenty of room in the family suite. We are driving down from Weymouth, Ma (with a pit stop in Memphis). We had originally booked a MX, but the prices came down so much, it was well worth the upgrade.

We are also spending our Cozumel day at Nachi Cocum. Looks like a fun day. The only day we havent made ressies for is Belize, I hate bus rides, so we may just hang out on the ship and maybe do a little shopping.....

Thanks again for posting. We were on the Dawn in October and have seen so many posts about the shape of the ship, I was wondering what happened!!

  11. That's awesome!

And should you see the Restaurant Manager' date=' Mihaela, please tell her that her "hug buddy, Dwight" (my DH!) misses her and we've booked October 2015, hoping we will see her again! ;)

It's a long story (one of those "you had to be there" stories, I'm sure!), but the Hotel Director, Alain, mentioned at the M&G that Mihaela needed a hug over something that was said....... My husband stepped right up and for the rest of the cruise, every time they saw each other, they hugged! I mean, they would spot each other on opposite ends of the Stardust Theater and run into each others arms!! Priceless! :) I have some great photos of some of those moments too! ;)[/quote']

That's so funny!! We were on the Dawn 10-17, we were on the cruise that was diverted to the Bahamas.....During our meet and greet, Alain said the same thing, so every time we saw her, we gave her a hug. She asked me what our cabin number was and she sent us strawberries in chocolate!! I hope she is on our cruise in 2 weeks, I want to run up and hug her, LOL!! Hopefully she will remember us!!

  12. I always book early and on my last 3 cruises the prices have gone up.

My upcoming cruise (DAWN, NOLA to Western Caribbean) has some pretty substansial price drops. We booked MX paid 959pp and its now 799pp. Its my first time on this itinenary. Live and learn, if I book this cruise again, I will wait till later. (I did call to see if we could upgrade to a suite to get the promos, was told no, but the prices on the suites had come down so much, we paid for an upgrade to a suite.) You just have to make the best of it!!

  13. It's all about supply and demand...and unsold cabins. Some cruises go down, some cruises go up in price. This is the question....do you have the schedule flexibility to always wait until the last minute to shop for cruises. If you can, then yes, wait and take a chance that there will be a cruise that you are interested in with cabins available and the cabins are ones you like. Also, you are taking a chance that the prices have not gone down, but up. No correct answer for when to book that fits everyone's needs. However, again, last minute price drops do happen.

Very true!! The price really came down on the family suites for our cruise last week, we were able to upgrade from a mini suite to a family suite with balcony!! I was happy with the price. (would have been happier with the higher OBC, UDP and UBP, LOL), but such is life.
