  1. LOTS of information on the British Isles Port of Calls Board: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/148-british-isleswestern-europe/ Welcome to Cruise Critic!
  2. Gratuities for drinks are included in the Plus package, so no, you do not need to pay anything extra. Some people like to give additional gratuities, so this often becomes a common discussion on Cruise Critic.....
  3. This poster indicated there was going to be one on the Crown July 16. @Dee_Jay .....Inquiring minds want to know.....did they have the Pub Lunch?
  4. I generally don't care or notice much what others wear. However, I draw the line at the people I see barefoot (!) walking in the buffet! Even if you are just walking through, you really need some kind of foot apparel----and open toes are fine.....just SOMETHING!
  5. Pre-covid, it was rare that anything was in the mini-bar any more...that might be different in suites. The only beverage we had seen in the room were large bottles of water and they have a tag on them indicating they aren't included. Do note that with the Medallion system, you can have beverages delivered to your room and if you have a drinks package, this will be at no charge. (Some people tip on this delivery and some don't.)
  6. The reason these questions keep coming up is due to Princess inconsistency. On the website, it uses Days. On the Medallion app it uses Hours. I have also seen inconsistencies on the website in different parts of the website. If Princess wants to make this it easier for it's guests, it would be really nice if they did some proof-reading on the documentation they produce. 🙄
  7. I agree....kind of.... We long ago moved to Anytime dining and love it. However, recently we went on our first cruise with young grandkids and their parents. We ended up on Carnival due to lots of Princess cancellations, but we booked Traditional Early dining. With young kids, it was easier to always book the same time and early. We are thinking of Princess next time with the same group and I think we will be fine with using the app, but I can see that others might really want to be sure they have the same servers each evening in this situation. Another situation I have seen people discuss is that they have a larger group---say 10 people and want to sit at the same table and I don't think the app accomodates that. I think the app could still work with some tweaks to accomodate those who want Traditional Early dining, but whether Princess will ever get it right is questionable.
  8. Sheesh. Why do you have a TA if she/he tells you times have changed, but doesn't tell you what they are??? That is WHY you have a TA. Ask them to please do their job.....
  9. "You agree that if at any time within fourteen (14) days prior to embarkation, You test positive for COVID-19, exhibit signs or symptoms of COVID-19..." Hmm...I never noticed this before. So, if you test positive 11 days prior, you are fine with the at least 10 days past the infection, but you don't fit the within 14 days......These 2 things seem a bit contradictory to me....
  10. Were they able to get their Medallion set up? Does it have a message at the top for you and for them that indicates you have a free dining credit? They didn't try and schedule themselves and already use it did they? Do you have the current version of the app? Just trying the usual suspects.... 🙂 If none of that works, then maybe you could just call Princess and see if a Rep can do it for you? There have been some reports about better wait times than there were previously. Also, I have found if you call them as soon as they open in the morning 6 AM Pacific Time, it often isn't as busy. Good Luck!
  11. The winner was the one everyone saw in the hallway for the entire cruise..... ....constantly opening the door to get yet another entry.....
  12. Our FAVORITE place to book cabins is on the Grand Class ships is Deck 14 - Riviera in the Aft section. We book balcony cabins. We've never had a problem with noise from the Cafe Caribe just above us. We LOVE the easy access to the Terrace Pool and the Outriggers Bar.
  13. Mine is October 1st. Mostly because their Cruise with Confidence ends on September 30th.... And since I cruise in August, I would LOVE for both of us to be wrong! 😜
  14. Back to the topic at hand.... Virgin Voyages Eliminates Pre-Cruise testing---including in the U.S.! https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/27889-virgin-voyages-eliminates-pre-embarkation-covid-19-testing-for-cruises.html c'mon Princess...... 😁
  15. LOL I have gone throught this same thought process.....don't want to say like, but want to acknowledge correctness. That's when I use the trophy instead (even though the pop-up description says that means 'thanks').
  16. We'll be on the Ruby in October, so enjoying your review. Your picture-taking skill is exemplary! So often, the photos people take of the Patters are hard to read. Yours are SOOOOO very clear!!! Thanks!
  17. My 'guess' is the cruise lines will follow the data. There are 3 Holland America cruises happening now with no pre-cruise testing required. When those are finished, they will see if the number of covid cases on those ships is significantly higher than cases on similar cruises where pre-cruise testing was required. If not, they might start rolling out no pre-cruise testing. If they find a significant increase, they might leave it as it is for a while. Only a guess.....
  18. My outbound flights were ticketed long ago. My return flights just finally showed up today with ticket numbers on my Travel Summary. I did call Princess on friday and the person I talked to thought because she had a confirmation number, they were ticketed. I hung up, but still was unsure. Over the weekend, my cruise happened to go under 30 days. So, either it was the 30 day mark that did it, or the person I talked to did 'something'. 🤷‍♀ī¸ Since you are close to 30 days, you might want to wait until you are at 29 days and see if they magically get ticketed?
  19. I doubt it with the current wave, but it is definitely interesting. Thanks for posting this!
  20. This used to be mentioned on their website, but it is no longer.... ☚ī¸ So, pretty sure you are now on your own to get a test....
  21. Wine yes---a noted in above posts. Bottled water - No. You can bring a 12 pack of canned water (if you can find it) or soda per person at embarkation. You can also pre-purchase 12 packs of water from Princess for a fairly reasonable price delivered to your stateroom.
  22. There's a lot of people (like me) who normally have FCDs that have now all expired/been used since I haven't been on a Princess cruise since Covid. It did push me to book something next winter that I might have waited until after my August cruise to book, when I intend to again purchase some FCDs.
  23. Sometimes these are shown on the cabin tv later, I believe. Perhaps that is the case and some people are trying to avoid what they thought might be crowds? in the theater. It also sounds like a port intensive cruise....sometimes people just need to crash....
  24. How far out is your cruise? My experience too was that they said they wouldn't talk to me until about 30 days out. I wasn't willing to deal with that stress. I gave up and rebooked myself thru EZ Air online, which cost me and several hundred $ more (International Business class) since the price had gone up since I booked. I even had a CVP and she was less than helpful.... 🙄 My experience was a few months ago....might be that it has gotten better....but I am doubtful.
