I can’t pronounce or spell the port. It is in NE Greenland a village of 500 people with a world war 2 runway. We transfer via plane from Reykjavik in 6/18 to this village without a docking area. Sure you can find this port it is in the 6/18 presidents cruise. people will disembark via zodiacs snd return to Reykjavik as well. This occurs several times this summer.

Believe in the multitude of emails for the past week or so all carryons will go with you on your Zociac while the hold luggage will be transported separately and meet you in your suite. My carryons will include a small rollaboard a personal item and my medical device and I have documentation from Seabourn that that is permitted.,

Interesting am on the President's cruise starting in little over a wee. Was able to complete the preferences list several months ago on the Source App but, not on any browser. Got a phone call about a week ago asking what my preferences were. Told her I had cocmplete the preferences but, she could not find it so remembered and gave verbally my preferences. Later looked on the source app and preferences were still there. A complet mystery why the seabourn IT is so horrible. Can't get anywhere with chrome on my computer but, Firefox works fine. We'll see if my preferences are there when I board in Greenland a wee from Sunday but,, who's counting the days and hours.

Wait lists are likely not the problems. Everyone is missing the point that guarantees have to be accommodated to liely it is finding suites for guarantees thus the ones geting the offers are those in categories that have people with guarantees and n place to sleep.

It’s intentionally vague. I read several boards of different cruises lines and that is basically how most cruise lines explain changes. it’s the old if I tell you I have to kill you.

Weill, Seabourn has finally changed the East Greenland Experience to the SE Greenland Experience for the President's cruise on June 17 to match the other changes. They have also made some other changes dropping a port, adding others as well as changing some of the Port times. Revised excursions are promised ;in the next 2 weeks just one week before boarding. They state that they are refunding excursions for the deleted port however I see that there were no excursions in that Port anyway. Still very much looking forward to this upcoming experience.

Got the following in writing back from my excellent TA today in writing. Guess we all are going to have to struggle to meet the weight requirements. Hi Dave, Unfortunately the allowances are due to landing requirements in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland. See below in writing from Seabourn: Yes, what is stated on the confirmation is correct, "50LB/23KG PER GUEST/2 BAG PER GUEST MAX". For checked bags, each guest may check-in up to 50lbs either all in 1 bag or dispersed amongst 2 bags. Each guest may also bring a carry-on with them on the plane. Completely understand their line of thinking but these baggage allowances were not created by Seabourn nor by how much luggage the aircraft can normally accommodate but by total weight restrictions placed on the operation in order for the plane to safely land at the landing strip in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland.

Have nothing in writing. After reading your response from Seabourn I phoned Seabourn and talked to the same person who I had talked to a few weeks ago and was told 50 lbs per person with nothing in writing aout carry ons. We talked and she asked about what was in my documents and that was "50LB/23KG PER GUEST/2 BAG PER GUEST MAX" which I see on my documents and to me it is written weirdly. Have never been that limited before. She recommended having my TA contact their contacts at Seabourn and get the correct story which I have done and hoping to have a response next wee which I will post. I do know the rules last year were 2 bags at 50 lbs each and which should be the same this year plus the usual carry ons since there are items which cannot go in the hold of the plane. More to come but, 2 bags at a total of 50 lbs is absurd and I am almost positive that writing is simply incorrect. More to come,

Believe you may have gotten incorrect information. Yes, you may only check 2 bags on the charter each no heavier than 50 pounds. Also unless you are taking the charter post cruise, the included bacpac would only be available on board, For the Presidents cruise th charter is pre cruise. I specifically asked about carry ons as I am bringing 1 carryon, one personal item plus a Medical Device and was told that they only were told by the charter airline about the 2 checked bags at 50 lbs each and that carry ons would be the same as most airlines as a carryon, personal item plus any medical devices. I really wanted the carryons specifically described but am going with 2 checked and the aforementioned baryons/personal/medical.

I am on the presidents cruise and have downloaded final documents which still shows east Greenland experience vs the changed to southeast experience So did not get a recent change to my east experience in late June. Extremely difficult to keep track as appears to me east includes zodiacs while se includes actual ports. should shake out next month.

Correct, just like in Antarctica included zodiac excursions simply happen and everyone is invited to join Even on my invoice it shows the expected days of the zodiac tours but, really no information about what they are just that they will be announced as the cruise progresses.

Already tried that. Only for new bookings and could not cancel and rebook as at 100% cancellation They did upgrade me from V3 to Panorama suite so did get something. Believe the cruise is not close to full another reason for the 35% off. Really looking forward to the cruise and sure there will be specials onboard. Will be on for 29 nights so B to B.

A jeweler on board makes me think of the awful park west so called art auctions on the mainstream cruise lines. And appalling is the fact that I am on this presidents cruise and absolutely no notification from Seabourn about this fact and only way I know is thru Seatrade daily who posted an interview with the new president plus posts on CC. less than 2 months to the cruise and the sounds of silence about this cruise are defeating. After reading about the president I contacted seabourn to ask about anything special and the agent had no idea about the fact that it was happening?? And now an overpriced jeweler wow can’t wait!!

That makes no sense. There is no Regent stock only NCLH stock which includes Regent, Oceania, and NCL. Now perhaps it was Regent underperforming bringing down the total NCLH stock however FDR is the head of NCLH and responsible for the total NCLH corporation. And sure NCL is significantly larger in NCLH than the total of Regent and Oceania.

Yes zodiacs are included. As far as enough zodiacs, that is not a problem for Venture and Pursuit as they are carrying enough zodiacs for all of the passengers at one time believe . As far as other ships like Quest, yes they don't have enough zodiacs and for Antarctica where Quest used to be the only choice, Antarctica rules limit the number pf humans on shore at the same time to 100 per ship and why you were broken up to groups and why Quest and any other non Expedition ships do not carry enough zodiacs for the entire ship like Ventur does and Pursuit will.have 24 zodiacs

Actually believe there will be fewer planes with fewer business seats as the A380 and 747's are retired. Do not believe Boeing or Airbus will be building more large planes but, more mid size and narrow bodies so that they can be filled for various length flights. After all now we have 737's and A 320's flying intercontinental flights when at one point years ago twin engine planes were not allowed to fly as far as they do today. And as far as being downgraded, that is nothing new and in my belief doesn't happen often enough to be concerned about and thus stay home.

Thank you. Simply trying to provide accurate current information from an exploration cruise in less than 2 months. This thread proves there is confusion over exploration excursions and the absolutely incorrect information provided by Seabourn onboard only added to the confusion.

Thanks for the clarification galeforce9. To be perfectly clear since I have been booking tours on my upcoming Venture Expedition cruise you are partially correct. We have several Experiences which are included for everyone. There are other ports that have included tours and extra cost tours our itinerary attached to our booking confirmation mentions as ll of this. To be clear just like regent that advertises free unlimited excursions and has extra cost tours as well Seabourn is virtually identical and while I have signed up mostly for the included tours there are exactly 2 where I will be paying extra. so it is a mixed bag with not all touring included in your fare. Am expecting to disembark with zero owed.

Understand wasn’t saying you were not telling the truth. Typical marketing over stating. Sure there are exploration cruises with all excursions included lik Antarctica and even my cruise where there are free included in most ports. Just not ALL. Suggest you talk to the person who gave the incorrect information or the square snd get him or her to clarify their statement so people are not disappointed Doubt it is an onboard booking promo as some of the excursions include helicopter flights and private car trips that cost over $1,000 per person or per car. Really don’t want CC people misinformed.

Not necessarily true. I am going on venture in June for 29 nites on an expedition cruise around ice land and Greenland. There are plenty of included excursions and probably 20 to 30 extra code excursions not including submarine and kayaks. there may be some expedition cruises with all excursions included but for sure NOT ALL.

Don; forget there is more to the differences taking cruise line air and booking yourself. Booking yourself is more risky usually as most people buy non-refundable tickets and should the cruise line make changes like charters, change in ports or change in dates buying from the cruise line means they will make the changes at no cost while purchasing yourself you are subject to buying a new full fare ticket at huge costs. There are other isssues but, for sure not only the cost differential.

The sir credits are likely less than the costs included in your cruise fare. The hotel credit is likely enough to book a room on your own but likely not enough for a true five or six star hotel. the sir credit does have a wrinkle most are unaware of. Since cruise fares which include air are identical no matter your actual home airport have concluded the included air paid and the credit is an average of the actual cost across all departure airports. to clarify at least for the US I’ll provide extreme examples. For a european cruise the credit for a person on the east coast would much closer to what they need to pay for air on their ow than a person living on the west coast or perhaps Hawaii or Alaska conversely for an Asia cruise the west coast person would be closer to paying their air far than an east cost person. hope that makes sense.

Unfortunately you won’t know and will meet to keep trying until your excursions are able to book. Highly unlikely ALL excursions are booked Likely just another website glitch and hopefully fixed soon.

Don’t go to “any” flight website. Many are limited as to info and also missing airlines you want to search for Best is matrix.its matrix.com. This is a consumer version of the software many airlines and TAs use so it has all the choices and airlines you need. Only missing discount carriers which cruise travelers rarely use and gives you the options you actually need for your search. Simply using least number of stops may cause you not get initial approval because if regent doesn’t have a contract the most direct flight may include a significant upcharge Happy searching and travel.
