  1. Extending final payment really won’t help as the problem is penalty dates. Better if regent would move all penalty dates to the right.
  2. Seems to me a fair compromise for both the passengers and regent would be for regent to come up with the price that the new Greek island cruise would be thrn subtract that number from the price people payed for the Israel Egypt cruise and refund that difference for each passenger. Regdnt would cover the cruise they are providing and the passengers would be paying for the actual cruise they are taking.
  3. Nothing in the contract prevents regent from doing anything they are not responsible for. they have made things right in the past but for this cruise have decided to follow the letter of the contract.
  4. No breach of contract not even close. The terms and conditions as well as ticket contract are extremely cjear as Dabear stated. Non of the advertising etc is part of the contract. as a tv judge often says it is simply puffing. The contracts for all cruise lines are extremely clear and mostly alike and protect the cruise lines inside and out in fact if you want to take your issues to court be prepared to travel to a country other than the US as most cruise lines are incorporated outside the US as nd the same Ts & Cs. Clearly tell you where you have to sue so find yourself a foreign lawyer and see just how far you get before you have to stop as you are simply throwing god money away.
  5. This is not the purpose of insurance. If this were to happen look for cruise insurance costs to significantly increase. we already have this with cancel for any reason and those costs are significantly higher and in most cases only cover approx 75%. Be careful what you ask for as the results will cause unintended conquences.
  6. Don’t believe there will be any tightening or any needed. The terms and conditions (rules) are well spelled out and not ambiguous at all. Believe the problem is that the vast majority of cruisers fail to read or understand the rules and believe the cruise lines are completely responsible for everything which is the furthest from the facts No need for any tightening at all.
  7. You are partially correct and my previous explanation was not complete. Regent is responsible for arranging transportation to get you to your boat. After that arrangement they are not responsible for delays, etc. I will poste a copy paste from the ticket contract so everyone can see the exact words. We assume no responsibility in whole or in part for any delays, delayed departures or arrivals, missed connections, loss, death, damage or injury to person or property or accident, mechanical defect, failure or negligence of any nature whatever caused in connection with any accommodations, transportation, services or facilities, substitution of hotels, common carriers or equipment with or without notice or for any additional expenses occasioned thereby. We reserve the right to choose the air carrier, routing and gateway locations, as well as the right to substitute charter flights for scheduled service and vice versa. If the entire Cruise or CruiseTour is canceled by Us for any reason, Guests shall have no claim other than for a full refund of the Cruise Fare or the CruiseTour Fare, whichever is applicable. The airlines and other transportation companies concerned are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time You are not on board their conveyances. This Ticket/Contract constitutes the sole agreement between Carrier and You, it being understood that the various independent contractors otherwise participating in the Cruise or CruiseTour will enter into their own separate contractual arrangements with You, and that You assume the risk of utilizing the services and facilities of those independent contractors. Any penalties, change fees or cancellation fees that result from changes to or cancellation of air arrangements are the sole responsibility of the Guest. Yes pretty strong language and in the past Regent has gone out of their way as many have asked in this thread but, like many other issues herein, legally from the above they are not legally responsible once they have booked your flight. This is NOT to say the agent who told the person whose initial flight was cancelled to wait until Monday or to phone a Lufthansa number not working on the weekend.
  8. Hi Pingpong 1. we haven't conversed in a long time but, believe you will remember when in the past many people thought the same thing you posted about Regent taking care of their air customers and I always posted as I am now that just like many other T's and C's that protect Regent and are on display in this thread., the T's and C's regarding third parties including airlines is that Regent takes no responsibility for third parties. Others including the one alluded to in previous posts about how well this thread is moving along would respond that not withstanding the T's and C's clearly saying that Regent booked third parties are not Regent's responsibility mentioned how Regent did take responsibility in the past. And I would say yes that has happened but, does not always like in this case of nobody in the office to handle delays on this momentous day. Just another reason to think twice about booking Regent in the future. Have a great day Pingpong 1
  9. Regent does not refund port charges for missing ports nor add port charges for new more expensive ports since port charges are not separately listed in the booking. That is what has historically occurred and doubt any changes for this change. Plus as far as looking at SEC reports to see if cash flow problems for Regent, that simply won't work as Regent is under the NFLH banner and reports are only for NCLH as the parent of Regent, Oceania and NCL.
  10. It bothers me and am certain others when people bribe staff members at the beginning of he cruise which causes staff to give preference to the bribers. We all should be treated equally and not have not have bribers first class and the rest of us treated like steerage. Passengers. Have no problem with any tipping at the conclusion of the cruise however no tipping (bribing) at the beginning or during the cruise And in response to reposado, I haven't been treated like steerage but, have read plenty of reports of waiters and bar people catering to the bribers while ignoring other passengers.
  11. Giving a tip before being served is akin to bribery and should NOT be allowed
  12. While we fully understand no way to get everyone on a tour at every port, seems like this is completely contrary to the advertising of "free unlimited shore excursions" Consumer protection laws in the US are few and far between but, consumer laws in UK and EU are quite a bit stronger so wondering how the type of advertising can continue. Yes the Ts and C's cover the possible lack of free excursions but, people see the free in advertisements and on the website and rarely read the T's and C's. Further to explain a flight cancellation issue with a flight from Iceland back to the US occurred last July and we were provided a paper explaining EU consumer protection. We did get rebooked on Lufthansa flights the next day flying backwards to Frankfort but, then non stop to Houston. We arrive home about 20 hours late. Filed with United to my compensation for the cancellation and finally just yesterday got a confirmation that they were sending us 600 Euro checks for each of us per EU 261. Had to be patient and eep on United. They tried twice to send $200pp flight credits but, we ept responding with copies of their document and finally got confirmation the checks or being processed. None of that would have happened had we been flying from or in the US.
  13. To answer your specific question do not believe ant OBC can be used toward a future cruise no matter how it appears on your account hence the name on board credit. should you have any refundable credit after your cruise you can get that in cash and use it once you get home to pay your credit card bill for the future thus in a way you are doing we get you want in a round d as bout manner. Remember unless your OBC is paid in cash to Seabourn it is non-refundable. Much of your TAs Amex platinum etc OBC is at least partially paid by Seabourn thus no refundable.
  14. Nobody outside Regent kniws the amount included in your cruise to cover air transfer etc. the only way you have the $6000 pp figure is that is the amount they will give you if you do your own air snd rtransfers your decision is should you take the $6k pp and book yourself based on current sir fares. You also need to understand that booking your own flights brings up other risks you don’t have letting regrnt book air including but not limited to your personal air will likely be non refundable from the da yiu book, should regent make itinerary changes you will be responsible to pay for the changes, some trip insurance plans do not cover air unless it is part of an air/sea package, etc in the end the decision is yours and yours alone as nobody else knows your exact circumstances.
  15. Nobody can guarantee regent will provide included non stop flights round trip. Only way to guarantee that and not sure this will guarantee non stop flights even with a deviation as flights change quite often these days. your option at this point is to deviate to non stop flights hoping they don’t change and pay the up charge if any.
  16. Think a better way to say this is that any credits or debits will be calculated at the time of change. IMHO it is likely any pricing changes are at the current prices whether up or down. Really doumb any cruise line will not use the price at the moment of the change.
  17. What does refundable or non-refundable seats have to do with anything. It is Regent booking for you and there is nothing for you to worry about if the seats are non-refundable because. because you don't pay for them separately as according to Regent they are "free". You need not research by fares as your refund, if any comes from the cruise fare and not directly from the airline. And if on a Regent Contracted flight that's al Regent's problem and if you accept a non contract flight, you won't know that and it is Regent's problem if you cancel.
  18. That's correct, you have to make the change with a person and NOt on the app or on line at the airline website.
  19. Incorrect, no need to involve Regent at all. When an airline changes flight times you simply phone the airline and request the new flights. Does not matter if the change is 4 minutes or 5 hours. There is no surcharge or charge at all. Recently my flight on United changed by 10 minutes. This trip was booked thru a different cruise line. I simply phoned Unite and asked to change to a better scheduled flight. At first the United agent said only a 10 minute chang but, I simply insisted and magically I was on the flight I wanted without much hasstle. Regent will need to contact United so why not leave them out of this equation and deal with United yourself. Would be concerned that Regent air might screw up the change so easiest to do it yourself directly with the airline. Also you avoid any Regent charge for talking to them to simply do what is simple for you to do yourself. Easu Peasy
  20. There was an agreement several years ago in Florida with all Florida based cruise lines that any money specifically listed for port fees or taxes had to be refunded if the money was not given to the government agencies. Regent and Oceania both signed that agreement. The kicker is that the money had to be broken out on the invoice to make it mandatory refunded and both Regent and Oceania do not break out these port fees and taxes thus they do not have to and have chosen not to refund to the passengers when ports are missed. By the way Seabourn another luxury line breaks out the port fees and taxes and thus refunds for missed ports. On a recent Seabourn cruise actually got a $0.37 credit for fees not paid.
  21. Pretty sure at least some of the AMEX credit comes from the cruise lines in the promo therefore non0refundable.
  22. Thanks for the idea. Waited an hour and a half and they say a seat is requested said I had to contact travel agency to confirm purchase. Made no sense and suddenly gone. Will try flight ease tomorrow. Never had this problem before??
  23. Not in addition to the $175. If you book the deviation you owe an additional $100 and if you don’t book you are out the $75
