  1. If you have access to the bidding website, the numbers are provided for each cabin category offered. There is an old thread on when it first began and the steps are covered there with screen shots by some posters, IIRC.
  2. Most folks that reported getting bid accepted were not bidding the max. I'd say you have a very good chance as long as not all sold out, but then someone in a Mini is likely bidding on a Suite and might get one opened up there. Who knows? MTFBWY.
  3. If I had a Suite like that, I'd probably not bother with Sanctuary. Which ship, however, as you might have soot issues from the smokestacks depending on winds. OTOH, cost of Sanctuary wouldn't be all that much if I was affording a Suite.
  4. Can you provide more info here? Husband cannot book PLUS alone unless you are in separate cabins/bookings which doesn't make sense. There is well-known bug that the Princess App often reflects the incorrect Captain's Circle level for guests which can cause other side-effect issues. We should all be aware this is a poster from Australia and they will have different promos and pricing schemes than us in North America. Not defending the CVP, because there are turkeys there for sure, but if based in USA, a bit of a time challenge there in contacting one another. Anyway, I would get yourself cancelled and begin anew. Do you know a good TA in your area?
  5. I don't agree. That's like asking someone - likely a stranger to the OP - to clean up their mess. I would phone in and cancel both bookings - insist they just be cancelled NOW. Then I would start over again with someone new.
  6. I could see a price double for all Caribbean sector voyages and perhaps add in the Mexico west coast cruises. Leave the rest at current prices.
  7. Any reason the others cannot have access to their bookings? They will all have a Captain's Circle number as well. IMO, they should all get involved, unless computer illiterate.
  8. BITD, when Sanctuary first came on the scene, that is what I used to say - we are booking inside and spend extra for full-voyage Sanctuary (it cost half of what it costs now back then) in the Caribbean.
  9. I have never needed to tip a DR Mgr or the MD in the past at embarkation mtg. It doesn't seem appropriate. Little story... last fall on our final voyage of 4, I was looking to get us setup with a table in DR for dinner. We moved twice and was still very cold where we were. I learned about how the AC works on that ship in the process. We ultimately ended up at a terrific table and and I felt the Mgr had gone above and beyond, but he didn't want a dollar from me. I was sure to mention him in the post-cruise survey.
  10. I see.... well I suppose it could be, but must have been passed when we started as I only recall hearing about Elites. Then again, I don't have a long history.
  11. Yes, Platinums did not have it unlimited, but the others did - for a time. It's all wake behind the ship now.
  12. It did not include Platinum - we only had a set number of minutes based on cruise length.
  13. If the Fare Code you are booked under no longer in effect, you may need to re-book. It depends on terms of the new Fare Code. Also, it can depend on who at Princess fields the call, or who your TA speaks with. TA's do have access to POLAR and there is a process to make a change in POLAR. Whether it works all the time without a cancel/re-book, I cannot say. What I can say is that I did several changes to four cruises from last Fall in the months ahead of FP Date. Sometimes it was a re-fare, sometimes a cancel/re-book. It can be possible to preserve an EZ-Air booking while doing a cancel/re-book. That said, the TA and Princess rep need to know in advance about the airfare and I don't suggest just anyone at Princess can make it happen. But you can read above that it happens and I know it happened to me. I do seem to recall on one occasion that a re-book to a new confirmation number did let an air booking go, but I knew before the cancel/re-book that the airfare had not changed and was not concerned about losing the booking for a few minutes or so. The best thing is to communicate clearly about your booking with TA and/or Princess and what you don't want to lose. I have even had my Shareholder OBC benefit preserved if I think to ask and didn't have to contact that dept again to have it re-applied. Another key factor to be aware of when re-booking is if you used a FCD for deposit. If that FCD has since expired, it is lost and set for auto-refund. You MUST have Princess extend the expiry date PRIOR to the booking cancellation in order to re-use that FCD as a deposit on the replacement booking. Be aware and be prepared is the best practice I can suggest for any booking changes. I would say so as you can get an inexperienced rep, etc.
  14. See my post above (#185), posted while reading and before seeing your post. Somehow I knew you would have an opinion on that suggestion. And of course I mean elephant in the dearest of terms.
  15. I don't think do. There are a lot of elephants posting in this forum.
  16. #1 - EZ-Air does not just book flights auto-magically as suggested. You must initiate a booking and have control over which airline, routing, dates, fare class, time of day is selected. #2 - It up to you the guest to monitor both EZ-Air and the airline(s) to check for any flight changes that might require you to act. No different than booking air for other travel purposes. Perhaps you were checking and something happened very late in the game. An other thing that has been especially important since Covid, is to verify that Princess is ticketing your flights. EZ-Air needs to know the booking is paid for and communication and/or payment has been known to break down between Princess and EZ-Air and flights have been dropped due to supposed lack of payment. My best practice is to request early ticketing from EZ-Air via the Cruise Personalizer option once the cruise is paid for and I am quite certain there will be no further airfare reductions due my close monitoring of flight options.
  17. Yes, AC does allow that for Business and Premium Economy. For steerage, you must be ticketed first before being able to select seats.
  18. BREAKING NEWS!!! PCL IT Department is infamous for having bugs in their Systems.
  19. I believe this is Air Canada situation. Also, in my shopping experience, I notice mostly that when EZ-Air offers Restricted fares, they are higher than Flexible, or close in value. I honestly don't understand why anyone would book a Restricted EZ-Air flight as it removes all the flexibility and whole point of booking EZ-Air (I am talking about advance bookings for certain). As several posts above indicate, there are normally significant savings when using EZ-Air for international travel, but not so much for domestic. Did you consider other airlines? I can give you some examples for several voyages we did last Fall beginning and ending in Civitavecchia. I had two one-ways booked using EZ-Air as did our friends. I started out with Business heading to Rome and returning Premium Economy using Lufthansa to FRA and then connecting to AC for the leg to YYZ. The outbound has slipped my mind. Our friends were always Economy and initially both legs with AC. I monitored EZ-Air regularly. Eventually, I switched to Air France for the outbound (via CDG) and got Business for about $750 US - much less than my original booking that might have been AC. Later on, I switched my LH/AC Premium booking to BA Business (via LHR) for less money than the Premium fare with AC. Again, the Business tickets were about $750 US each. Meanwhile, I got our friends switched to the same BA flights returning home we were on and they were saving a lot over AC and eventually upgraded to Business for not a lot more than they were originally paying for AC Economy. I don't think AC does anyone any favors fare-wise and I have no reason to be loyal to them anymore since I am retired (I used to be Super Elite, so you can imagine I flew them a lot in my past life). EZ-Air is a consolidator and the big advantage to me is that you can book one-way fares international without the surcharges the airlines slap on (such as charging as much for a one-way as a round trip). The other big advantage is you can continue to shop EZ-Air via the Cruise Personalizer and change flight and airlines on a whim when something pops up attractive - right up until ticketing date. I made about 8 flight changes or re-fares for those flights last Fall and achieved the rock-bottom pricing in both directions. I hope you have better success in future, but look beyond Air Canada as see if you don't find some better deals. We don't mind having one connection if not overly long and gets us what we want in terms of seating and cost.
  20. What do you suggest? Even if the B2B'ers had to wait until embarkation morning, they are all on the ship before any new guests board. I suppose a Caribbean sector voyage could be fully subscribed by B2B'ers, but I have not seen this happen before in my experience. Nor even read that much full. I have only one time not been able to get suitable booking in the Sanctuary for a Caribbean region voyage and it was because we had to be late getting to the terminal and short story is the line was just too long, plus the B2B's. We were B2B'ing and got chairs for the following voyage. ETA: I do agree that you absolutely need to be among the very first to make the climb to Sanctuary check-in for a Caribbean sector voyage if you have particular and popular days you want to book. Sea days in the Caribbean are like concert tickets to Springsteen - sold out in mere minutes.
  21. Last Fall, in Italy, I observed a table just beyond security screening and prior to heading upstairs for check-in that I presumed was for the wine table, but it was not staffed (just a bare table). We were among the first 50 or so to enter the terminal and I have mostly found tables to be unoccupied that early (including Port Everglades). ETA: Perhaps it was there for folks to set things down and re-assemble themselves after security screening, but the screening is pretty casual and nothing like TSA.
  22. No, they are not really available to be borrowed. Many years back, I bought one for a good price at a Vines, but last Fall when I forgot to bring one to Italy, I went down to Vines and they no longer have them, not would bartender loan me one. I bought one in port. I just used the corks to re-seal the bottle. My intention is to always bring a waiter's style corkscrew.
