  1. That still leaves loads of time if self-disembarking early or book an early walk-off.

Updated Discovery Captain info. Note that Captains are on 3-month rotations until/unless a ship swap, so we could be listing the two captains for each ship and their swap dates.
  3. Took a look back and it seems no one picked up on the new photo board posted on Sep 17 when changes occurred, See next post I am now working on. I only see two differences - Captain and CD. If you know more or something else, then please post specifics.
  4. Interesting again as I have yet to see Reserve take up an entire DR. And perhaps it doesn't where you are now. Of course we know both DR's are serviced from the same galley in between the two, so I guess if they just divide up the staff, they can use parts of both DR's - or all as needed. Is there regular seating as well as Reserve in Concerto for dinner?
  5. On ships like Sapphire, the Alfredo's menu is limited and they have not had any premium pizzas in the past AFAIK. On Royal Class, there are some additional App and Dessert selections, plus the premium pizzas.
  6. I actually don't think it was a bad thing. Makes sense to have the beverage package aligned with the AI Fare package. I suppose they could have had the Value Beverage package and the Better Beverage package and aligned them with Plus and Premier, but I find it okay the way it is.
  7. You should have received an email notice that your send rejected for the first try since it is an invalid address. I get those notices when I have made a typo, for example. Princess.com for the website. PrincessCruises.com for all email addresses.
  8. Makes sense - except 2 DR's open for Breakfast and Lunch. That's new on me.
  9. Okay, so I am not surprised since you are an experienced cruiser. But I was responding to this statement of yours: "I’m continually checking the airfare fare & when the price has gotten lower, as it has many times, my agent has changed my booking to the new fare & if I have found a better deal I can change to that too.".
  10. If AC makes the flight or equipment change on you and it leads to a new seat selection, you do not pay again. You probably need to call for a live agent in that case as the system could try to charge you again. If you make the change, then you are also forfeiting the seat fee. Other airlines do charge for economy seat selection - maybe it depends on which seats. It's just another cash-grab here in Canada not gone away of other airlines have done so.
  11. You do know you can self-serve a re-book with EZ-Air using Cruise Personalizer? I would never bother a TA with an airline res they make no money off. Also, by the time they get the message and act, the fare could possibly change again.
  12. You have a bunch of good info above along with a bunch of incorrect info. You will have no issue bringing on a case of wine at embarkation. I have brought two on once. If you are an early arriver, you may not encounter the wine table and should end up carrying it all on board free. If you are assessed at embarkation, the paid bottles are stickered to indicate corkage paid. Not the other way around. Your voyage is likely two separate cruises whether you booked that way or not. You get two bottles free per segment. If you take an unopened bottle to DR that is not stickered you may be assessed the corkage fee. You may not end up being charged for all bottles. Once the bottle is open, you won't be charged corkage because it was already paid. Or it is presumed to have been paid when opened. Waiters do not sticker bottles. You should only be charged the flat $20 in DR. The fee includes a gratuity. The statement above about paying a grat on top is wrong. If it happened to that poster, they should have pointed out the mistake. As for ports, wine is not treated like alcohol and kept until end of cruise. Bringing on a couple after a port stop as you mentioned is not only not an issue, but you can most often just walk it back to cabin without an issue or being stopped. Recent experience and numerous reports indicate they really only care about booze. There is no rule against bringing back wine. Many port excursions involve visits to wineries. ETA: Don’t expect this necessarily, but we did a B3B for 25 nights last October in Europe, followed by 14 nights on another ship. Never paid corkage fee. We were checking in early for both ships and no wine table setup in Civitavecchia at the time. PS this post is not opinion nor speculation. I have been taking wine on Princess ships for many years. I learned the ropes early on and do take care of my waiters as well.
  13. Sure, wine is a liquid we consume, so it is technically a drink. It is also a beverage. I call wine wine is all I was saying. When thinking or talking about bar beverages in context, I think of a drink as liquor straight or mixed in a cocktail. Not trying to say my terminology is the only and right way.
  14. I know. By "drink", I meant bar drink. I never call wine a "drink".
  15. Actually, the way to do it is to login to the Cruise Personalizer and then go to Flights and shop your same flights or alternatives to same destination. You can then compare the new cost to the old cost. You can take it all the way down to the final confirmation page and bail then with no changes, or cancel out of the process anytime prior to that and your current booking is preserved.
  16. Clearer now. Just wrong is all I can say. Hope they went to the loyalty host to mention the situation. With Princess, there is always at least one example against the normal/expected practice.
  17. For a $3.20 gratuity, that is one expensive drink.
  18. Sounds like a different issue. The Elite benefit for tender priority doesn't mean guest can board without first getting a ticket. I believe the "old way" of just showing up and getting in line is gone - at least for early morning when tenders are busy. Elites get a priority ticket or meet separately and are guided down to a tender when ready for them. I think what you saw was guest attempting to board without first checking in for a ticket.
  19. This is misinformation. A couple sailing together can check-in together, go to PES "lounge", use tender priority, etc, as long as ONE of them has the requisite CC Member Level. A couple is never required to split up.
  20. IMO, you need a good TA In the future. If you prefer to work directly with Princess, you need a CVP. If you have that, you won't be dealing with an overseas call center. A CVP is like an internal TA. They may not all be stars, but many members here report having a good experience. Call in and ask for one. And then talk to them about your situation. There may not be a good solution dollar-wise, but at least you will have a better resource. I'd go the independent route now.
  21. Yes, you can do DMW as log as have each others booking numbers (I would cross-ref each way). Besides using DMW to book a dining party of all of you, you can also use the locate feature to find them (and they you). The TA reservation link in POLAR has been there for eons. It is useful in the sense that PCL knows you are traveling together. A main usage before DMW was so you could have both cabins dining together in the days when the MD would setup the tables for Traditional Dining. Of course, it wouldn't have mattered if you dined in AT style. I wouldn't count on a cross-reference preventing PCL from upgrading one without the other.
  22. Of late, the EZ-Air debate threads are outnumbering most other debates, including dress recommendations for dinner. It really is a personal thing and the circumstances of airlines of choice and pricing at time of booking. Some folks want to work directly with an airline directly and some will go EZ-Air if/when it provides a savings. There has been a TON of documentation on personal experiences with fares and savings one way or the other. Obviously, I suppose, members will continue to post and inquire, but the situation is never going to change. The best advice is to price EZ-Air and your favorite airline and then consider what the price difference means to you and understand EZ-Air provides flexibility.
