  1. True - one can argue any subjective subject and there will be a range of opinions. There won't be a "right" answer.
  2. The people we would want to reach or want to reach us are all on WhatsApp and that works great over internet and can text or video call and it's encrypted end-to-end.
  3. Of course. Again, I don't understand how you come to an apparent conclusion that I was advocating doing this without GS involvement. That is not possible due to need to re-program Medallions and get cabin accounts aligned properly.
  4. Not sure how you came to this conclusion about my post. Of course you need to clear with GS. Have to get Medallions reprogrammed to open the correct cabins.
  5. Any CC is going to be tied to some bank or other. You could have one for travel only and not use your primary card... whether from same bank or another
  6. Ugh. Main reason we don't share as do not want to be ages to finish dinner service.
  7. I am wondering if anyone has asked GS if TV ordering has been axed or if they are modifying the system and will be back soon.
  8. That's fine but the ship isn't going to care if the passengers agree.
  9. Just let your waiter know and they will work to accommodate. Works well if you are at your own private table and not a sharing table.
  10. So, this tells us there is some discretion involved which may be applied - or not. So be nice, folks!
  11. Not true above. You always need your DL if driving. But they don't ask to see it at the border. You also must have a copy of registration and proof of insurance for your vehicle. Again, they don't ask to see it at the border, but if stopped by police for any reason or someone hits your car in an accident, you are going to need those documents.
  12. Aren't you paying a hefty price for the US coverage? I presume you have calling to US and within US and from US to Canada? I do know some folks prefer to keep their single number and pay the extra to do so. I am wondering if somehow Bell has reduced the cost for US coverage (but not thinking they would do that). We have separate Florida numbers for when we are in USA.
  13. Interesting how quickly PCL removed the Australian Covid testing requirement from Travel Summaries, but still not updated for their recent Plus/Premier package changes.
  14. Regardless of where one stands on tests and vaccination for C-19, it should be unanimous that a test taken in the US 24 days ahead of landing in Australia is meaningless.
  15. NO. ETA: It means they know better and want to board the ship earlier.
  16. NEVER allow the cruise line to convert the on board currency to your "home" currency (done for "your convenience"... cough, cough... it's a rip-off). Let the charge go through and the cc company will convert. But they do add a service charge. There are credit cards out there good for international travel that do not have a currency conversion up-charge.
  17. If PCL were to remove CA from Plus and Premier fare packages, and maintain current price, I do fear for the tip pool because many of those guests may decide to give the middle finger to PCL and not pay the CA. (If it is outside the package, it becomes removable).
  18. Same price for everyone. $40/pp/day for a lounger. $20/pp/half-day. If you book for the full voyage, you might be able to get it for $30/pp/day (not sure anymore). ETA: Please do not think of Princess Cruise Fare options as "classes". It's not quite that way. The only real "class" (to date) is Reserve Class which is for Suites and a select set of Mini-Suites.
  19. There are no boarding times. Just check your Travel Summary to find out the latest time for check-in. The start time is there as well, but most likely a piece of fiction unless something unusual were to occur with the in-bound ship ending the voyage before.
  20. No, Arrival Groups and times are gone. They are only publishing a check-in guidelines range and the important time is the end time as that is the latest for checking in. They will be starting check-in and boarding WELL before 1:00pm. The ship has port arrival of 7:00am which is when they start disembarking the previous voyage.
  21. I am not so sure that Sanctuary will sell out in Europe in late October. But, you can expect prlority guests heading onto the ship as early as 11am. You might want to be safer than sorry later
  22. If a glass from such bottle was no more than $15, it could work for Plus plan. The bartender must have had a way to do it, so I guess we don't know if they just rang up some generic glass of wine 5X or if they can manually adjust the drink limit. But I do understand the inventory matter - and I have no idea how closely PCL monitors inventory and if an unaccounted-for bottle or two or three ends up in the reports.
  23. There is some logic there as they most likely do 5 x 5oz pours from a bottle (not so great, but typical I suppose), rather than 4 x 6oz pours (better).
  24. You may recall we were discussing this in another thread. I found it difficult to believe there would be no 18% gratuity on the 75% net cost. I mentioned waiting to see if other CC members who have bought wine would post and clear it up. I think it is clear from the above variety of posts that guests are indeed charged 18% on the net cost of each bottle of wine. Princess phone reps often don't get their information correct nor know as much as some seasoned guests know.
