My vote between the two will always go to Hyatt Place. ES used to be a favorite but no longer !! OP keep your good deal for Hyatt Place...you won't regret it.

I thought Explorer was to be amped in early 2023 ??? At least that's what we heard when onboard her this past March.

We (DS and family) had the KSF on our eastern caribbean April 2022 cruise...what an amazing deal on their 2 bedroom GS. Hoping to get the KSF for April 2023 but it's not showing it.

Luckily we had a great connection on our laptop from our Amsterdam hotel and then they printed out the hard copy for us. Best of luck !!!

No thanks....I'll continue to prefer the old fashioned paper Cruise Compass left in our cabin each night.

St Kitts is a favorite of ours. We were there in March onboard Explorer. No terminal at this port...you dock right at the pier in town. RCI port maps seem to be only available once onboard.

This is exactly what we also do.

The new brand of biodegradable straws onboard are "StrawFish" and they work great. I always prefer a straw and had no trouble getting this new brand recently onboard that last few ships I've been on even including Jewel out of Amsterdam.

We'll be doing the Panama Canal on RCI Serenade San Pedro Ca-Tampa Fl in October and in Puntarenas we're joining a private tour with our roll call called "Thumbs Up Tour Costa Rica" a four hour tour. Perhaps you might want to check out this option for your cruise.

Not long but that can and does vary by location. We had such an amazing driver/guide no one hopped off ours as we all wanted to do the round trip with him but most everyone got off just before the last stop back at the port which was Faneuil Hall. Just amazing food in the Market area.

You will be fine with USD. No reason to exchange for pesos unless you were going to spend a length of time in Mexico. For the average amount a tourist will spend not worth the hassel. We have done many many port stops on the Mexican Riviera with the most recent one being this past January.

Yes....My DH & DS dropped us off at the port and drove the rental to Budget and the shuttle was complimentary to take them to the port. This couldn't have been easier and we were very surprised at how quick they got back....under 1/2 hour.

No, and it doesn't seem to be on very many cruise schedules...or at least the cruiseline I frequent. I too have heard some not so good things about Acapulco as posted above

Well that's sad...the locals always seemed to welcome the cruisers.

One of our ports it was a Sunday and everything was closed (the small town was a ghost town) except for a tourist office and one gift shop at the port. A few others just reminded us of any large city in the US. Unfortunately RCI docked at basically some industrial docks. At times there was a shuttle provided..but one in particular just dropped us off at the city bus station and you were on your own with no information given. Oslo we also were pretty far out and there was literally nothing at the dock...no info provided at all (yes even though we usually never complain this time we did complain onboard). Also some had saved receipts from port stops to get a refund back on I believe tax in Norway but since Oslo was our last port they were told they would have to make an approx 30 min one way walk to the office that processed this. This is something that should have been told or one set up at our dock...as I said there was only one security guard at the gate of this far away port dock. I may have over expected our port stops to be quaint towns and feel like we were actually in Norway. The only ports that lived up to this was Geiranger & Bergen. We are glad we did this cruise but certainly won't book it again. Sorry some may disagree but this was our personal opinion.

We just rounded up with the Euros we had....this seemed to work out fine.

We found it easy to just use the Euros we brought with us. There was only one small sandwich place we used during our 3 pre-cruise days that would not take cash.

That's too bad as it would be much more convenient.

Just to add to the above...PCL does not pull your bags you are responsible for claiming your bags and getting them to where you check in for transfers. They will then put them on the transfer bus as you board it. I'm a bit surprised that their giving the OP such a short time to get to their transfer bus. Agree something they need to double check on.

Can this location be used if selected for a random test when arriving on a flight from the USA day of cruise?
