  1. Self tests are great if they meet the requirements but they aren’t for everyone. Someone has to be able to cope with the details, prior during and after.
  2. Having recently got off the Eclipse, I was surprised how precooked the burgers were. They seemed to have very large pans full of burgers in a hot cabinet rather than fresh cooked.
  3. Definitely they will do the two tests together even though u have two appointments. We sat at a table, side my side. I am a bit rusty on the other questions as it has been a while. To connect you login to your account as I recall. You send the photos to them and they will send the confirmation back. I did find the photo upload a bit difficult but it worked. May just have been me. We used a Samsung but an iPhone should work well. Just think about how you will support it as you will need your hands. I think we used a couple of books. U may have something more sophisticated in mind. Good luck. It should be fine. We used them twice.
  4. Thanks, I had seen this but it just added to my confusion. First because it references a large selection of wines within the Classic package but virtually none showed on the bar menus I accessed. Secondly, because there is this disconnect between the $9 and the Australian requirements. I feel good about the situation now so will see how it goes onboard.
  5. Thanks for this. Our sailing will be from Sydney on the Eclipse. Maybe when I look at the bar prices they have the 20% added. i just looked for the MDR under wine. It lists for the Classic and Premium packages separately and the Classic is up to $11 so all looks fine.
  6. I am just trying to manage my expectations. We will have the Classic Drink package which I believe is limited to $9. When I look at the drink menu under the bars on the X app, it appears there are very few drinks that fit the $9. Even a Pinot Grigio is $11. I have looked at the liquor list so know what we can get there. I know we only pay the difference if we go over. Will there be other wines and cocktails available within the $9 limit or should we expect to pay an extra $2 to $5 per drink if we don’t upgrade?
  7. Am I correct that fresh orange juice is not covered by the Classic package?
  8. Thanks Jelayne. This is exactly the sort of info I was looking for. Hope to hit the floating ground running. Or at least our version of running!!
  9. We have sailed the Solstice and Millennium but a while back. Remember the hot glass. If I recall this post suggested places to go for before dinner drink etc. Seemed good info.
  10. There was a post I was looking at a few weeks ago showing some of the special things to do on the Eclipse. I can’t seem to find it now. Wonder if anyone recalls it. We will be joining in Sydney later this month.
  11. Thanks. Having just checked in I can see they would like you to show within the given window which is fine.
  12. Might it depend on where one is sailing or did I mess up. Did mine yesterday for our October Sydney sailing and it had a spot to upload the proof of Vax and optionally the booster. Hope my app wasn’t out of date.
  13. I am not quite sure how this works but I gather it may be assigned either at or after Checkin. My question is, is it ok to arrive later than the assigned time?
  14. I would expect you could return ashore on the first day as well
  15. I thought one received the time by email. Is this incorrect?
  16. I would trust it but take the confirmation email with you to the cruise just in case.
  17. If you used a TA only they can see it. If you booked direct I believe you can see it but someone else will have to point you.
  18. I believe on some ships these aren't full verandas.
  19. Unfortunately Japan doesn't recognize this type of test which we have done before. It is possible we will be ok as only transiting in Tokyo. Trying to confirm with the airline.
  20. Very helpful to us as we are used to free laundry on HAL. Looks affordable which is great.
  21. I thought the issue with surge protectors isn't so much fire hazard as that they spill the surge to ground. Of course there isn't such a thing on a ship so the hull is the standin.
  22. If you just checked HAL they must have different policies for Australian ports. They no longer allow the free bottle as far as I know.
