  1. On the 65day Grand Pacific ....none of the included wines were much better than "plonk " sadly
  2. I appreciate a rating system would be a very good idea but I believe you will find and Destination Services teams will tell you that no matter how carefully or patiently they explain to passengers who have mobility issues etc ...passengers still insist they will go on the tour regardless Our last Regent Cruise the team were tearing their hair out with one passenger who insisted on going on tours regardless ...he was unable to do the steps, inclines the lot and expected other passengers to help him ......as I said stubborn refusal to accept their disabilities affects other passengers and cruise line too
  3. Lots of TAs can give you the prices for cruise only in all inclusive and at less than Regent website
  4. Sorry but certainly do not agree with that at all ...we have done many Regent Cruises and had some lovely free tours the only thing that has ever spoilt a tour has been passengers who refuse to face or accept that their poor mobility seriously affects other passengers ..if a tour says strenuous its exactly that
  5. Glad to hear another Regent fan totally let down by Seabourn .....glad you got compensated ...we have been ignored as well as being treated very badly
  6. Regent every time for us its great but you will be so spoilt other lines simply do not compete ...glad to hear someone else not happy with Seabourn still waiting for the courtesy of recognition that they wrecked our 65 day Grand Pacific cruise ...you do not travel all that way having booked tours at the outset with a large OBC to see them cancelled one after the other in last 10 days with nothing to replace them and a mere 36 hours notice each time
  7. Sympathise and agree Gisborne and Timaru are a joke .and missing what you did is gut wrenching ...similar issues on Seabourne Grand Pacific 65 day cruise ...so many excursions cancelled at last minute that were booked at start using OBC that could not be refunded ..,Seabourn attitude though is Dismissive and " you spent the OBC in the shop " which of course was on the very last day rather than loose it completely ..Seabourn ignored all contact and discussion on the issues ....so to Regents credit they have done something however when like us you cant redo the cruise it matters hugely ....it does seem theres been a lot of issues in NZ and Aus etc this year with cruises
  8. On Grand Pacific did not see any price increases but frustatingly just 36 hours before the tour 6 in succession were cancelled with absolutely nothing to change to and they had all been booked at the start of the 65 days ....
  9. Frantic 36 yes it does seem Seabourn go the extra mile for the staff
  10. I will be very interested to see what you say in comparison of Regent to Seabourn in due course My other half gives me hell because i did not insist we cancelled the Grand Pacific on Seabourn but instead for a variety of reasons hoped it would turn out ok ....of course there were some good things like the Brilliant Chihuly Glass Venue and especially the meal they served it was perfection , i concur with Marzac about fabulous Eva and her Husband and John Barons various performances , sadly when too many tours you especially wanted to do were cancelled at last minute with zero to replace them it does seriously affect a cruise and an area you have no hope of returnjng to its distressing ...For us the food and so much else on Regent is much better and there is no crazy Caviar in the Pool .
  11. Absolutely no need whatever for a top suite on any Regent Ship and definitely always a favourite compared to Seabourn especially after recent experience ......simply genuinely cannot fault Regent
  12. Umpteen tours cancelled with just 36 hours notice and nothing to replace them despite being booked at the start All very well if your able to repeat the cruise and also found out that vital islands on original itinery that were scrubbed for radically changed itinery were actually open and other ships went in So many things that combined together to really spoil what had been looked fwd to for so long
  13. Can but assume your friends did not try to do any tours then as so many passengers were truly fed up with tour cancellations and our very senoir waiter frequently refused to serve some dishes because they just were not up to spec .
  14. Nope not a single form of brandy or cognac at all
  15. Were you on the Grand Pacific 65 days ? Certainly was not same as a med cruise on Odyssey we did before Covid Because Odyssey Grand Pacific sure did not match Regent 5 years ago or now ....
  16. Yup 65 day Grand Pacific ...zero Cignac or Brandy for at least 10 days till arrival in Auckland
  17. Sadly Host Dan all far too true from our experience on the so called Grand Pacific Cruise mere 65 dsys The food quality in MDR was sadly not the best Breakfast and Lunch in Colonade was definitely better And i agree much of the food was same as cheaper mass market lines They ran out of Brandy / Cognac for 2 weeks thru French Polynesaia !!!! As for Tours far far too many were cancelled at short notice with nothing available to replace them Yet passengers were required to give 48 hrs notice Do not hold your breath hoping for a response from Seabourn ...it wont come For a so called Luxury Cruise Line sorry the news that you cant access CC when onboard does not surprise me one iota ...i simply wish i had never sailed on Seabourn because Regdnt wins Hand over Fist
  18. On our recent 65day Grand Pacific numerous tours were cancelled with just 36 hours notice and with nothing to replace them add on for first 3 weeks the only tours supposedly available were for ports we were not even visiting !!! Quite what Head Office are employing i have no idea but its like their flight people who booked connecting flights that had left an hour before you even landed from the first one !!
  19. Seabourn sure did the dirty on recent so called Grand Pacific 65 days by changing itinery .....not impressed as no chance of repeating a South Pacific itinery now
  20. Give me Regent anytime over Seabourn ....recent 65 day Grand Pacific on Seabourn was simply not what we expected and it would take a lot to get me back on Seabiurn
  21. Stargazy .totally agree .and have seen many reports recently of how good the food is on Regent Sad to say the food on Seabourn does not begin to match Regent ..very disapointing indeed
  22. Seabourn is pretty casual even in the evenings ...Regent in our experience has always been Elegant Country Club Casual and no need for a tux or ballgown
  23. Food on Seabourn Odyssey on 65 Grand Pacific cruise was most certainly not that great Particularily the quality of the meat that definitely varied
  24. After 65 days on Grand Pacific certainly very very few wore Tuxedos ..many men wore a jacket but truly smart casual was basically order of the day
