What's it like on Christmas and New Year's Day
iamaqt2 replied to SunAngel's topic in Princess Cruises
I had so much fun on our New Year's 2023 cruise. Here are some pics and video if it will load. They had an ice sculpture with 20 and 22 then shoved the 22 in the pool and slid in 23. 20221231_234315.mp4 20221231_235758.mp4 -
I've cruised Princess, Holland, Celebrity, NCL & MSC. Hands down Princess is my favorite. The line draws a more middle aged crowd. And they know their demographic. Entertainment is good to great on the Royal Class ships. The older ships are tired.

What's it like on Christmas and New Year's Day

New Year's eve is AMAZING!! Huge party out on the pool deck if weather is nice. Also a more subdued option for those less inclined to whoop it up inside the ship. Everyone gets dressed up so nice. -
Question: Are Majestic Princess Lido deck cabins noisy?
iamaqt2 replied to KruzPrincess's topic in Princess Cruises
Not noisy at all. I love the location myself and have booked numerous cabins in this location. The ease of access to the lido deck and the buffet and bars is ideal. I also find it easier to get an elevator to the ships activities from this location. -
New Partnership with Hall of Fame Pitcher Delivers Prime Black-Angus Beef in Main Dining Rooms and Crown Grill Steakhouse Aboard Regal Princess https://www.princess.com/en-us/news/news-releases/2023/12/princess-cruises-brings-the-ranch-to-the-high-seas-with-goodstock-by-nolan-ryan Looks like it's only on the Regal out of Galveston for now.

Not until you board. And it's very much a first come, first served situation. Also they have "destination" pricing. For example the cost would be much higher on an Alaska cruise Glacier viewing day.

The Sanctuary is an adults only extra cost area on the ship with loungers and cabanas for rent. There are dedicated attendants and a spa type menu to order from. You can book half day morning or afternoon, or full day. There is afternoon tea served. The Retreat Pool area is also adult only but is open to all onboard the ship with a small amount of loungers around the pool. The Retreat Pool serves as the nearest pool to The Sanctuary.

I will say where Princess fails the disabled is the elevator situation. I've seen many disabled passengers unable to use the elevators due to capacity. Now part of that is also a passenger issue, and out of the cruise lines control. But at peak times they could reserve an elevator for passengers with mobility devices with a crewmember recalling it to the floor with a key.

It still doesn't say UPGRADED.

Is this booking policy new? Is it widespread??
iamaqt2 replied to Drizzle66's topic in Princess Cruises
Are you looking at one of the 10 day bookings or the 20 day B2B booking they're offering? A lot of times these cabins will show available if you search the 10 day, but they block the 20 day. -
I believe it says some terms have been "updated". Not upgraded.

I don't see why not. These are 2 completely different apps. And Princess states that they are supporting the Medallion Class app until the end of February. So functionally you should be able to use both apps.
-
Yes. It states it will no longer work after February.
-
"Making the transition to the Princess Cruises app seamless and effortless - just like our cruise experience. " Laughs in ALL CAPS.

I had to put my Google-fu to the limits on this one, but it's a charter through Imagine Cruising. https://www.imaginecruising.co.uk/holidays/a-star-studded-voyage-exclusive-canaries-sailcation/

Just to clarify... teens up to 17. Once they turn 18 they are no longer allowed in the kids club as they are considered adults. They really should have a category for the 18-20 year olds with their own age appropriate activities.

I have no idea. But late night dancers and partiers got stiffed, that's for sure. At least we have Good Spirits to quench the thirst we work up LOL.
-
They got turned into a sports bar/lounge and overflow space from casino for more machines.

Head directly to the Sanctuary once you board the ship. First come, first served. Prime days fill up quickly. Cabanas are much easier to get than loungers due to cost. We did the cabana once and didn't feel like the cost vs value was there for us. The loungers are very nice though.

The late night DJ's are now playing in the Piazza on all the Royal Class ships. Spinning the hits until 1-2 am. I speak from personal experience that I wish this was held in the Vista Lounge as a more nightclub venue, but the DJ said passengers complained in the cabins above. So Piazza it is. And it just isn't the same vibe dancing under super bright lighting. However the new Sun which the OP was asking about has different floors for the Piazza from deck 7-9. And I'm sure most of the evening entertainment there will be done by 10 or 11 pm.

Disclaimer, I ordered it off the kids menu LOL. Nothing on the Pub Lunch menu appealed that day. But it was a really good burger. Hand formed patty, quality beef. Not the hockey pucks from Lido Grill.
