Sorry to hear about your SIL. I'm guessing that you're talking about Roswell Park Cancer Center. My nephew unfortunately spent a lot of time there battling Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Roswell is a fantastic place and he kicked cancer's ass. He's now in med school at the University at Buffalo to become an oncologist (he's in impressive kid). While at Roswell, he also met Hasek, and later was invited to be part of a ceremonial puck drop before a Sabres game. Roswell is especially good with kids who are fighting cancer. Hasek is a legend in Buffalo (I'm still mad about the 1999 Stanley Cup "non-goal") and for him to spend his time at Roswell is an incredible boost to someone's spirits, at a time when they need a lot of boosting.

I posted pictures a couple of weeks ago of the raised planting beds that Micheline bought. They are now fully assembled, filled with dirt, and having plantings in them. Mostly herbs but also tomatoes, zucchini, a couple of marigolds. Not sure about the tomatoes and zucchini in fairly small beds but we'll see. Still learning about what grows in Florida vs what Micheline knew well about Ohio. We've already seen some signs of squirrel interest, so we put out a fake owl. Seems to be working.

Embarkation in Barcelona..
bobmacliberty replied to Reina del Mar's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Suites in general are allowed 1 hour before or 1 hour after their check in time. A JS should be treated the same as a full suite for check in. However, I can't confirm that Barcelona follows this and from what others have said above, it's irrelevant if they aren't verifying check in times. -
There will be a lot of that happening on the Bella Cruise. I'm not booked yet...waiting to see when my daughter decides to book her wedding. Spring of 2023 is still a possibility, although fall is more likely. Micheline will almost certainly not want anything else on our calendar for at least a month before the wedding.

This is an interesting idea. We could create a bunch of questions like what is Greg's favorite rum? What is Graham's niece's name? What is Dani's husband's hobby? What is Crystal's favorite vacation place? Makes me want to re-read the first few pages of this thread to see what we said. 😁 And welcome Debbie. I'm Bob.

The case when I was excused was a company employee driving a company owned truck while working, who hit another vehicle, injuring the other driver. There was no question that the company employee was at fault for the accident. The other driver however allegedly had some previous medical issues and was claiming that these issues were due to the accident (or possibly became worsened by the accident...can't remember). He wanted the company that owned the truck to pay all of his medical expenses. Would have been interesting to hear both sides say why the company should or should not have been responsible for medical payments.

I had my first jury duty several years ago and the bailiff in the jury room said something that makes a lot of sense. He said that most people dread jury duty going into it, but are happy that they did it coming out. I was one of the initial 12 selected for the jury box the first time that I was called, and went through the voir dire process. I heard an overview of the trial and then the lawyers (and the judge) asked a few questions of the jurors (e.g. are you related to any law enforcement officials, what is your occupation, etc.). I told them that I was an Engineer, which I was told often gets you out of jury duty. Lawyers don't typically want logical thinking people. They want people who will think more emotionally. The judge asked if there's any reason why any of the jurors don't think they can serve. I raised my hand and said that I had a lot of important things happening at work (which was true) and didn't know how well I could focus on the trial. The judge and lawyers disappeared for a few minutes and then returned. The judge announced that juror numbers x, y, z are excused. I was one of the excused jurors. I don't know if it was because of what I said, or because I was an engineer, or both. Several times since then I've had to do the daily calls to see if I've been chosen, but have never been picked. I kind of wish that I'd gone through the whole trial for that first jury duty summons to get the experience.
