  1. Thank you for the update. Good to hear that things are going pretty well. Enjoy the rest of your voyage.
  2. The WSJ had an article today that companies in a variety of business are having difficulty retaining help. As a result a lot of inexperienced workers are causing service issues. After reading the article, It’s obvious that these issues aren’t unique to Seabourn. Nonetheless that’s not much comfort if the service you’ve come to enjoy is lacking. Just my 2 cents worth .I’ll be on the Quest in October.
  3. If your credit card was charged, dispute the charge. That’ll get their attention. Perhaps you may have your TA call.
  4. KJbacon, I’ve been reading this thread since it’s inception. Thank you for the honest appraisal of both the good , the bad and the ugly. BTW, what was on the menu for Canadian night last night in the Collanade ? Thanks again, and safe travels
  5. That’s the way that I remember the shrimp cocktail on the Ovation in December. My hope is that , now that the Quest is in Canada, and be in the US. management will come aboard and straighten things out. I have to imagine that on the run to NYC from Montreal that some travel agents will be onboard whether for a few days or a complete voyage. I have to say as others have, that I’ve been on Regent and Silversea since the end of the pandemic with no major issues. I was also on the Ovation holiday cruise in December. Everything went pretty well until crew and passengers encountered Covid.
  6. Not stupid or ignorant questions at all. As Lois has replied, you can be by yourself as much as you want and whenever you want, so don’t even give it a second thought. Enjoy your cruise ! I’m sure you’ll have a great time
  7. Like Viking, I too am a little worried about our Quest voyage on October 28th. Hopefully this gets all straightened out during the next 2 months.
  8. Klapka, are you on the April 9th TransAtlantic. ? It vanished from my bookings for a few weeks, and also the website. I got an email advertisement for Ovation cruises in North Europe, and the TA was on it and listed as “new”. The only thing new is that it ends in Dover instead of Tilbury which we already knew. The sale starts on 8/26.
  9. Only if they don’t smell like mothballs
  10. Sooo, should those expensive designer jeans that come all ripped with holes, threads showing be allowed? Have to draw the line somewhere.
  11. I thought you’d be seeing the Aurora Borealis, and hopefully you’ll see bigger show tonight. They’re predicting that it may be visible in the Northeast tonight as far south as 100 miles north of NYC. I’m dying to see those lights !
  12. Thank you once again for posting great pictures, and a nice thoughtful review. Iceland is definitely on my bucket list.
  13. There is though a 50 mile limit I believe, and you pay for mileage over that. However, you can take the credit, and use whomever you want. Please correct me if I’m wrong with that.
  14. The April 9th 2023 TA no longer appears on my bookings, or on the Seabourn website. I made an inquiry last night, and was told they’re not finished with the Ovations itineraries. They also said that I’d be advised by August 17th. Stay tuned
  15. Received from Seabourn July 18, 2022 Dear Seabourn Guest: We look forward to welcoming you on board Seabourn Ovation for your 14-Day Bermuda & Atlantic Crossing voyage As a result of deployment changes, we have made an update to your cruise itinerary. Your voyage will now end in Dover (London), England rather than Tilbury (London), England. The experience of sailing into Dover is extraordinary, as your first view of England is the milky-white strip of land called the White Cliffs of Dover. You will then sail through these majestic white chalk cliffs with streaks of black flint rising straight from the sea. The remainder of your itinerary is unchanged. Dover is located approximately 120 km (75 miles) from London. For guests with Seabourn post-cruise hotels in London or transfer arrangements to London airports, these will remain in place. Guests can keep their original homeward flights from London with no changes. You or your travel advisor will receive an updated booking confirmation with the revised itinerary by August 4, 2022.
  16. April 9th ( Easter) it leaves Miami for Dover England with a stop in Bermuda. After Dover on the 23rd have no idea where it goes. However, it was originally supposed to end in Tilroy England, and was changed to Dover for “ operational reasons “. Perhaps dry dock ?
  17. That was the policy in January when we were isolated. They also gave some credit to everyone on board because of the service disruptions with crew being sick too.
  18. So sorry to hear of you and your spouse getting Covid. I hope that you both get well sooner rather than later. Seabourn must’ve changed their policy regarding isolation. I was on the holiday cruise on Ovation and I tested positive and she was negative. We were immediately separated and confined to our cabins for 6 days. Ironically, a few days before testing positive, we were on a small, but full tour bus, where an obviously sick woman was coughing, sneezing etc with no masks ( which were required back then ). Anyway, you’ll be getting future cruise credits etc for your time in captivity.
  19. And I’ll be doing the Montreal to Miami
  20. I’ll take every single one of those meals and desserts. I wish we were back on the Explorer. Thanks for sharing
  21. Covepointcruiser, could you post the new itinerary if you’ve got a moment. I haven’t been able to find it on the website.
  22. We always enjoyed the freshly prepared food at E&O. My wife sometimes gets swollen ankles from too much salt in food. However, we ate at E&O a few days in a row, and the swelling went down.
  23. Thank you for posting the reviews. Also, good for you, taking a lemon and making lemonade. Many of us, would’ve let that start ruin the trip. Enjoy the rest of your cruise
