  1. I have the Princess transfer booked from Heathrow to Southampton in a couple weeks. I'm arriving the day before and staying at the airport hotel. My Princess travel summary shows that I purchased the transfer, so I'll be on their list. There are very specific instructions on where to meet both for passengers arriving on flights on embarkation day, as well as for folks that "plan to be in London prior to embarkation day and wish to return to the airport for your transfer to the pier." This option appears to be common so I don't see any need to give fake flight information. If you purchase the Princess transfer, check your travel summary for confirmation and instructions.
  2. I couldn't figure it out but the folks at the Internet Cafe were very helpful. I thought I had to turn off my connection on one device before logging in on another one. But the gal told me that I didn't have to actually do that. I just had to log in on the new device.
  3. Another naysayer. I had a deck 5 aft cabin on Oosterdam. I wouldn't do it again. Yes, it's a nice, deep, fully-covered balcony. But it felt to me like I was deep inside a cave unless I was right up against the railing.
  4. When I recently faced this dilemma I went to the GS desk and ordered flowers for my cabin. They made me smile every time I returned.
  5. I'm currently in a deluxe balcony. The categories available for me to bid on are: Premium Deluxe Balcony Mini Suite Club Class Mini Suite - Forward Facing Club Class Mini Suite Vista Suite Premium Suite Penthouse Suite
  6. I have an upcoming Sky cruise. There's just one premium deluxe balcony category available for me to bid on. No distinction between aft-facing or not.
  7. On all cruises I bring a few gallon and quart size zip top bags. They're good for keeping an emergency sandwich or other snacks in the fridge when I want a little something and don't want to go out or call room service. On my first Alaska cruise I was mainly prepared for cold and rainy weather. I was unprepared for the warm and sunny weather I encountered! Wish I had brought another pair of shorts, a couple more polo shirts, and sunscreen.
  8. Before my Princess Caribbean cruise in March, the tram tours on Grand Turk were all booked. Once on board, I was able to book it. Maybe there was a cancellation? But I wonder if they maybe don't release all the slots for advance booking. Perhaps they hold some back for booking on the ship? When I booked excursions in advance, the cost was deducted from my OBC. I booked my cruise directly with Princess though, not a TA, and my OBC was showing online. Is yours showing up when you log into the Princess website?
  9. I don't think anyone can answer that. It varies by cruise. Probably varies based on cruise length and how booked each category is on that particular cruise. It probably also varies by what you have reserved vs. what you're bidding on. Are you in an inside bidding on a mini? Or a balcony bidding on a mini? A lot of folks have posted the details on their upgrade bids in that "How is the bidding system doing?" thread that has already been linked to in this thread.
  10. I didn't go to any shows in the theater on my last Sky cruise, so I don't know what happens there. Are you saying folks don't clip towels to chairs in the showroom to hold them for hours later? I wonder why not?
  11. I went to the Princess shops as soon as they opened on my recent cruise to get Stanley Bear. He's so cute in his little sailor outfit! A lion with an orange bow tie? I won't be running to the shops for that.
  12. I recently booked a Baltic cruise May 2024 with $1 deposit as a solo. The have it all price was ridiculous! It was over $200 extra per day! So I booked the basic fare, thinking I'd add HIA online later. Doesn't seem available. Still a long time till my cruise, so I'll bide my time and see if I can add closer to the cruise.
  13. I also enjoy a cocktail in my cabin when I'm preparing for the evening. Or sometimes a nightcap. I don't want to go to a bar or order room service. I ordered a bottle online pre-cruise and it was in my cabin when I boarded. When that was empty, I just called room service and they delivered another one.
  14. Guess it was part of another promotion and wasn't due to Plus. Here's what it said on my booking confirmation: Guests who book this promotion are subject to standard cancellation terms and receive the following: *ONBOARD CREDIT (All gsts): Int & O/V- $50 pp; Balcony- $100pp; M/S+- $150 pp
  15. May I ask when was the last time you tried to order a can of diet coke on Princess rather than a fountain drink? I think we're talking about a recent change here, maybe as part of the new plus package, which I think just started in February.
  16. Had Plus on Sky Princess last month. Often ordered cans of ginger ale from a bar to take back to my cabin. No charge. Even ordered on the app delivered to my cabin a couple times. At first the app showed canned soda as $2.50 each. But after adding to my cart and before placing the order it showed the charge was reversed.
  17. I was on Sky Princess 2/25-3/11. Had the "new" Plus including the deserts, etc. Didn't use any of the "new" features. First week everything seemed o.k. The app showed I had the package and bar charges were showing up properly. Second week the app either said I had no package, or said I should confirm my package with GS. Things showed up on my account that shouldn't have. I went to the GS to have those removed. Then, later in the cruise, other charges that should have been on my account were also removed. I informed GS of that error but the charges never reappeared. Never had wi-fi/Internet on any prior cruise so I have nothing to compare it to. It was incredibly slow at times, especially mid-day when at sea. If it were the olden days and I was paying by the minute I would have gone crazy. Instead, I ordered room service and put movie on while uploading pics to FB. Really loved the OBC that came with the Plus package. Between that and the shareholder OBC I took all the Princess shore excursions I was interested in, booked transfer back to FLL, used the luggage service, bought Stanley Bear and flowers for my cabin, and still didn't use all the credit! Somehow the unused credit was refunded to me via check even though it was supposed to be non-refundable. Then there's the crew surcharge, that is also covered by Plus. $14.50 per day that didn't hit my account. Loved that too. Even at $60/day, it's a bargain for me. But, as I said on my survey, I've never been on a cruise ship before where it was so difficult to get a beverage. Not just a couple times or in certain places, but pretty much everywhere all the time. There were constantly people either in line or walking up standing behind bar stools trying to get the over-worked bartender's attention to get a beverage. Even sitting at a table in an area where waiters are circulating would take quite a while before someone came over or even surveyed the space to be flagged down. Not sure if they're overwhelmed because of everyone having Plus or what. But they really need to fix that.
  18. Prior to booking my recent Princess cruise I was a regular HAL cruiser and frequented that board. Since I booked the Princess cruise I started reading here. I was kind of amused that so many of the complaints I saw about Princess where the same complaints I saw on the HAL board.
  19. I think it's going to depend on what's available where the ship is provisioned. On my recent Sky Princess cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale, I believe it was Crystal Geyser I saw in all bars.
  20. I went with hilarious, but if I ever had any interest in lying in the sun, I'd probably think otherwise. A couple weeks ago I was on Sky Princess. I did laugh that there were already towels with clips on chairs before sunrise! One afternoon in the buffet, a woman walked up to a table next to mine with a family at it and announced that she left her hat and book on that table. It looked like the family had been there a while, as they had beverages and plates of food that were mostly consumed. The man said "There wasn't anything here when we sat down." She became very flustered and just muttered how she had left her stuff there. The man suggested she ask the waiters what happened to her stuff. The woman wasn't carrying a plate or anything, so it wasn't like she had put her stuff down to go get a plate. I thought that was hilarious too.
  21. I was so happy to find Stanley Bear on Sky Princess a couple weeks ago. They seemed to have plenty.
  22. I was going to edit to add this but I guess it's too late: He may very well have said vanilla or chocolate ice cream and not gelato. Since we were in the gelato area I wasn't really paying attention to that distinction. I apologize if I confused anyone.
  23. It was around noon and there was no line. The premium desserts are in the gelato area. I just figured that meant they are made with gelato. Maybe they do make them with vanilla or chocolate ice cream instead of gelato. That might explain why I couldn't select a flavor. Still not interested.
  24. I'm on the Sky now. Was in the gelato area an hour or so ago. I thought I might be interested in giving one a try, since it's included in my plus package. I asked the guy if there was list of what's in these premium desserts. He just pointed to the fake examples they have on the counter, which, as you can see from the pictures posted, are gelato with a bunch of candy on top. I said "But what's IN them?" He said they're all made with either vanilla or chocolate gelato, then pointed to the top of one and said "This is tiramisu." "Why wouldn't you make it with tiramisu gelato?" I asked. "No, only vanilla and chocolate." The menu says they're $12 without alcohol, and I can't even pick the flavor of gelato it's made with??? But for anything else I can pick the flavor? What the heck? I said "Not interested" and walked away.
