  1. I know nothing about Gate 1. What I will say is that the ability to walk off the ship has more to do with the specific port than the cruise line. Some ports are right in town, and others aren’t in the part of town you will want to visit. And, with the increase in river cruise traffic, at busy times there might not be enough mooring spaces in town, and you might have to dock farther out.
  2. They may be half days, but the staff work doubly hard getting passengers off the ship and welcoming the new passengers on board.
  3. Your phone should be even easier. Just hold down the letter and you should see the row of alternatives appear.
  4. I have a Hebrew keyboard that I can switch to on my phone. It wouldn't work so well on the desktop without using key labels.
  5. Yes, it does on my Mac, and I presume on my iPhone.
  6. I just found that for letters it works the same way on my (new) Mac keyboard. The only difficulties I have been having are finding the options that on the phone come off the $ sign (¢ £ and € being the ones I use most often). The first 2 use option keys (4 and 3 respectively on my keyboard) and the last one comes from the symbols menu.
  7. On my iPhone, if you hold down a letter you will see all of the various accent for that letter. So holding down the "u" there are 10 different alternatives including the umlaut. (I'm not on my iPhone right now or I would show them.)
  8. Sorry. They do show up in mySilversea, but you are only considering so you can't access that information. I would try contacting Silversea directly, or have your travel agent do so, since costs would be specific to the actual locations.

For each ship on the Our Ships tab on Silversea.com, scroll down to Dining.
  10. If Silversea is offering them, they show up below the included tours and select tours as something like privato tours.

As many as you want. It won't let you choose 2 on the same night, but other than that you could potentially reserve for every night on board (if there is space).
  12. There were lots of people with cameras; I didn’t notice whether there were monopods or not.
  13. Those are in every room, not just upstairs and downstairs.
  14. I did the Naeroyfjord cruise in June. It was very smooth. In addition, for photographers, there are ramps on both sides of the main cabin zigzagging up the sides giving lots more railing than expected for picture taking. There is, of course, also the top of the main cabin. All in all, there is plenty of outdoor space with direct views.
  15. This is a hydraulic lift lock, It has 2 basins that raise and lower on opposite sides. This picture was taken when they were in the middle, thus, side by side.
  16. As far as I know there is no limit. I certainly made reservations more than once at a few of them. (I did not reserve La Dame.)
  17. I think the one that shut down was Smith (or Smith's).
  18. There are actually 3 bus stops at LHR, one for terminals 2 and 3, one for terminal 4 and one for terminal 5.
  19. Yes, but then you are relying on the hohos as transportation instead of just providing an overview, which, in London, means you won't get to see much, if anything, in depth.
  20. They generally don’t list time in port because timing is subject to change due to things like water levels and timing for locks.
  21. We didn't get hot rocks (but I opted to have my meat cooked for me even when I was at the Grill) but the entire Grill menu was available in Spaccanapoli on the Dawn.
  22. The layout is different on the Dawn, where Spaccanapoli is above the Grill, but on the Dawn yes, we could (and did) order from the Grill menu.
  23. It did show up, unfortunately not in the proper place. @milepig put the response in the box, rather than below it.
  24. No, the options are Tauck on the Rhine or Scenic on the Danube.
  25. I believe that the UK used to do this (or maybe still does) and after Brexit people travelling to the Schengen zone were being caught with passports with more than 10 years validity which for some reason weren't acceptable to the zone.
