Royal Caribbean Picks Your Room
Cruisegoer replied to SummersOff4Me's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I think I've qualified my statements, I've never stated anything saying that other factors don't play a role. Maybe you're just particularly "unlucky". -

Sorry I'm offering my personal 35 years of prior cruise experience. I don't have statistical information for you......I hope you can still manage to sleep at night. God Bless 🥰 -
Royal Caribbean Picks Your Room

Historically those with a guarantee who have higher statuses get a higher category in that cabin class (so maybe an inside on deck 7-8-9 vs deck 1-2). Again, it all depends on availability but that can literally be hundreds of reservations. I will say getting an upgrade out of the cabin category you've paid for does not generally happen, sure it's possible but not frequent considering the upgrade/bidding process in place. -

When you book a GTY you have to be accepting in your mind that you're going to be in the worst possible cabin in that category, any upgrade is considered Gravy. Your loyalty status certainly can help you out but when ships are sailing at capacity you might just get what you paid for. -
Drink brands on Oasis of the Seas

If you lookup the Deluxe Beverage Package you can find what spirits are included with it. It only stands to reason that these would be the brands typically stocked onboard the ships. -

Do Pre-cruise Promotional Discounts Ever Change?
Cruisegoer replied to Cruisegoer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
When did you last cruise and purchase a Deluxe Beverage Package? Prices went up big time in the last year, I think $80 per day is about average (it used to be $60ish). -

Do Pre-cruise Promotional Discounts Ever Change?

You're talking about total cost $180-200-320 not per day correct? Right now it would be $400pp on my 5 night. -
Do Pre-cruise Promotional Discounts Ever Change?

Look at the Diamond level benefits for beverage (adult) purchase discounts (20%), that's what I'm being offered as the discount in "Plan My Cruise" off the Deluxe Beverage Package. 3 Night Dining package is also 20% off, Unlimited Dining is only 15% off, some shore excursions showing as only 10% pre-cruise savings. -
Hello, I haven't sailed with Royal in a bit so I'm just curious if the discounts on Beverage or Dining Packages or even Shore Excursions and Internet fluctuate (i.e. Larger Promotional Discounts offered depending on holidays, general sales, etc)? Right now it seems everything is around a 20% discount which pretty much reflects the discount I'm offered as a Diamond level C&A member.

Changes to Royal over the years

I believe there are dining packages you can purchase beforehand through your Royal Caribbean Cruise Planner. I think you can reserve shows once onboard. Perhaps only by the day. -
Changes to Royal over the years
Cruisegoer replied to richbum's topic in Royal Caribbean International
There are a few options for drink packages from water to soda only to all non-alocholic beverages to Deluxe Beverage that includes all the above plus alcohol. Prices have gone up significantly on these packages in 2023 due to inflation and a post-covid world. As far as show reservations, I believe that may depend on more what ship you are on and whats being offered. -
Hi All, I was curious if anyone here is going on the BGC on Royal Caribbean's Explorer in February 2024? Prices are great and it sounds like a lot of fun with some queens from Drag Race in attendance plus a handful of guys who star in adult movies and popular DJs and a singer from the X Factor. I know it's a popular month for charter sailings but this is just a group on a regular cruise that happens to cost a lot less, is a shorter cruise and also offers the drink packages. Seems like a win/win.

Glad to read a little less snark in your follow up comment. FB has a general Scarlet Lady group not associated with any particular sailing. Check it out.

I never said Celebrity had the best food, food reviews are subjective but it's fair to read both good an bad reviews.

Facebook, Scarlet Lady- Virgin Cruise Line group page. You may not realize there is life beyond CC.

I've read plenty of bad reviews about blah food and terrible service on Virgin Voyages, sorry.

Having a traditional verandah I might be lucky to go outside on it 15-20 minutes per day. A few mins in the morning and a few minutes at the very end of the day. With the infinite verandah we would open the window almost every time we were in the cabin, if not for the entire time at least it was open. It also allows for better views and provides larger interior space in the cabin. The automated blackout shade is great too, far better than a curtain/drape.

Meraviglia Jan. 22nd - Feb. 2nd, 2023 My Thoughts
Cruisegoer replied to ready2cruzagain's topic in MSC Cruises
Can you tell me how MSC is about passengers ordering multiples in the dining room? So 2 appetizers or 2 entrees or 2 desserts per passenger? -
I was on Summit in July 202 and felt it was the test subject of the cutbacks (after having last sailed Celebrity in Feb 2022). I'd like to hear your opinion but I think the passenger's frequency of cruising also plays a role in the opinion made.
