  1. Hello, Sadly it was very calm - I like a bit of rough (weather). Regards, Cublet
  2. Hello, Last week's otherwise 'Formal' night on Anthem was styled 'Wear your best' - to which I can only say "Good grief!" Regards, Cublet
  3. Hello, In answer to this question, and a thread of Champagne vs 'champagne' and one of waiting 30 minutes for service in the suite lounge (on Anthem), if the passenger asks for something that is not in his cupboard, the (only) waiter will, and did, leave and go to look for it elsewhere. Regards, Cublet
  4. Hello, It was last week, but a week's a long time in covid cruise-times. Regards, Cublet
  5. Hello, Covid negative test result tomorrow permitting, I'll find out on Saturday. I always travel with (ground) coffee bags (Percol, Lyons, Taylors) and first thing in the morning let it brew whilst taking a shower. I use Lavazza beans at home and they are fine - the pods for the Lavazza machine on RCI taste bitter. Regards, Cublet
  6. Hello, This is an 'omnibus' response as too many individual 'quotes' would look indulgent. Both Cunard and MSC have real Champagne choices. I agree that RCI can sell anything it wants providing it is sold as what it is and not as it is pretending to be. Though whether this not happening is the fault of the individual barman, his trainer or RCI is an open question. I will be having words with the F&B Manager on Anthem in September. I think the 'swill' that they serve now as 'champagne' and 'prosecco' is a leftover from the days of unlimited 'happy-hour' Diamond Club sessions when sparkling lavatory cleaner was shipped-in by road tanker. Regards, Cublet
  7. Hello, I cannot speak to Pernod specifically, but there is no prescribed list from which you have to order. Regards, Cublet
  8. Hello, Yes, but it is Champagne and not 'pretend'. Regards, Cublet
  9. Hello, If I ordered Champagne, I would expect it to be Champagne and not some anonymous white sparkling wine. Similarly Prosecco - but that was like flogging a dead horse on Anthem for the last three weeks. Regards, Cublet
  10. Hello, I can only speak to the presence of John Smith's as that is what a friend drank. I can't believe I saying this, but if you use the app it does say what drinks are (supposed to be) available in each bar. Regards, Cublet
  11. Hello, For the last three weeks, Anthem has had no mixing of different parties at dinner tables other than 'by request'. However for the 'Consecutive Cruisers' and 'Cheers with an Officer' lunches we were placed together. Regards, Cublet
  12. Hello, According to the Cruise Compass, everyone had to have their temperature checked prior to arrival in Spain and on the days in Spanish ports. But it was completely haphazard - my cabin steward zapped me in the corridor a couple of times when he saw me. MSC on the other hand had someone permanently stood at the entrance to the MDR and zapped people as they entered. Regards, Cublet
  13. Hello, Currently on Anthem B2B2B. Have received water in both plastic bottles and metal cans. My only issue is the plastic bottles are 500ml whereas the cans are only 330ml. Regards, Cublet
  14. Hello, Last week's Anthem to France and Spain was showing the previous week's itinerary to Norway for the first three days on the app. Something only Brits of a certain age will understand - it was a case of 'left hand down a bit' instead of 'right hand down a bit'. Regards Cublet
  15. Hello, This (changeover day) morning's breakfast, the bacon was so undercooked I'm sure I heard it say "Oink". Regards, Cublet
  16. Hello, Yes I am. I'll probably barricade myself in the Concierge Lounge. Regards, Cublet
  17. Hello, Not likely to happen. It is quicker, easier AND CHEAPER to say "No" than actually do anything. Regards, Cublet
  18. Hello, The basic problems are: Shortage of staff; The time taken to recruit, test and isolate new starters. Training is a luxury RCI cannot afford. Next week Anthem is due to sail at full capacity so hang-on for a bumpy ride. Regards, Cublet
  19. Hello, Currently on Anthem - have been for two weeks. I think they have hundreds of tins of powdered instant mashed potato mix left over from the pandemic. Nearly every dish comes with some sort of mash - creamed; garlic & savoury. Not one instance of either roasted or sauteed potatoes. Also 'sauteed' vegetables were either boiled or steamed and had never been near a saute pan. Last night's 'mixed" vegetables were the peas and small carrot cubes found in supermarket tins. Close inspection of the 'croissants' show them to be plain white bread rolls in the shape of a croissant. Regards, Cublet.
  20. Hello, Currently on Anthem. The posted hours for the DL coffee machine are 0700 - 2000 (if working!) For some reason beside the machine are a coffee urn labelled 'Regular' and a milk jug labelled 'Half and Half'. These are there only during the breakfast service. Regards, Cublet
  21. Hello, A problem I have with the app, aside from that it exists at all, is that I cannot see the days' dress codes anywhere on Anthem this month. Anyone any suggestions? Regards, Cublet
