  1. Hello, Can I drag this exchange back to the topic of 'Perks'? This is academic to me at the moment as I have nothing booked pending the (very late) arrival of an FCC. I would expect any 'perk' I had paid for in my first cabin to be carried forward to my new cabin but what about any 'special offer' perks that I had received for free - possibly as an attempt to get additional bookings? Similarly, if the 'bid for cabin' ordinarily came with nothing apart from bread and water but was currently in a sale with additional perks, would those perks be given to the successful bidder? As perks are a moving target and time sensitive, what about the possibility that the two different cabins' perks overlapped? If that was the case then, speaking as a very retired bean counter, I would expect that to be reflected in the up-bid prices. But speaking as a very current cynic, I think that's too complicated for the computer software that requires a hamster in a wheel to crank the system over. As I said above, I've nothing booked so I am only taking a superficial interest in X's pricing/offers but with Cruise Only, AI (x 2), Elevate and Indulge packages all competing for custom, I'm confident this has not been thought through properly - and neither has the X website apparently using the two forms of AI interchangeably. Regards, Cublet
  2. Hello, But aren't there two cocktail sizes? One menu advertising one size the the other advertising the other? I'm sure this is the case in The Martini Bar. Regards, Cublet
  3. Hello, When I was on Silhouette in May, the most popular game was 'Find the games boxes' and an enhanced prize went to the person that found his/her game's contents complete. Best bring your own. Regards, Cublet
  4. Hello, I was chatting to the captain of the Indy following the announcement that the ship would cease year-round sailing from Southampton. He said that Miami said that they had to too deeply discount the cost of sailing from the UK in winter months to make it viable. Regards, Cublet
  5. Hello, There are on Anthem next to the windows. Regards, Cublet
  6. Hello, Polishing my 'miserable git' credentials, I am not going to pay extra for odd seats, odd place settings and no tablecloth. Not even with my $25 Pinnacle discount am I going in there. Bring back Portofino's. Regards, Cublet
  7. Hello, I know pigs might fly with greater probability than this, but I would like a return to the long gone days when a Freedom/Voyager class sailed out of Southampton whilst Brilliance sailed out of Harwich. Regards, Cublet
  8. Hello, CK is nice but the problem I have if sat at the glass topped table, there isn't sufficient friction between plate and table top to stop me having to chase my breakfast around the table. That and the fact that I broke a crown on their armour plated toast. Regards, Cublet
  9. Hello, It's easy and can be very easy sometimes. If it's very easy, the Cruise Director will put in Celebrity Today the time and place where the Maitre d' will be present on boarding day to take bookings and make reservations. Just say what you want and it it's not immediately possible he will take your stateroom number and leave a message later. If it's going to be easy, just rock-up to the entrance to the MDR where the Maitre d' will be present .........(as above). If there's more than one MDR or entrance on more than one floor, you may have to try this a couple of times until you find someone stood at a lectern. You will not be the only one wanting to do this. So it may be that you cannot be accommodated immediately, or first night, but you will more than likely get a card outside your stateroom on day 2 for seating going forward.. Regards, Cublet
  10. Hello, I lived in Australia for a whole year, and went back probably three times a year for the next five years. In all that time I only saw Fosters served twice - and both of them to the same person. Being in Brisbane in rough order of consumption, was XXXX, VB, Swan & Tooheys. The last one is interesting. A male student, dressed in a Tu-Tu, did something (I cannot remember what) for which he was prosecuted - though it was only a minor infringement. Toohey's had a brew that was 2.2 strength so they got the student, in his Tu-tu promoting Toohey's 2.2 bitter. I cannot vouch for what any of these tasted like - good or bad. Regards, Cublet
  11. Hello, I said back in June that when I enquired on board Anthem, Guest Relations said you could not know for sure whether you had been upgraded (or not) until 2 hours after departure. It sounds as if that was not a 'one-off'. Regards, Cublet
  12. Hello, I was caught-out by charging my credit card and not OBC as my payment screen did not look like this. Beneath the picture on the left were two boxes, one labelled OBC and one Credit Card with the last four digits, each with 0.00 for me to enter the amount to be charged to which. But the Confirm Booking button was higher up on the right. If nothing was entered into either box then the credit card was charged. What I think is, and this is getting in the long grass and weeds of this discussion, they have programmed this for a bigger monitor that I am using so this will push things down the screen that cannot be displayed across it. Regards, Cublet
  13. Hello, When is a 'No Single Supplement' not a 'No single Supplement'? When it's a 'Single Discount'. Not shown on the linked spreadsheet are 2022 sailings ex UK on Silhouette that, when you look at the price breakdown, shows a 50% Discount as a "Sailing Solo Offer". Regards, Cublet
  14. Hello, I know he's now gone, but didn't Fain say (to investors/stock exchange) that to protect margins there would be no last minute reductions - and, consequently, ships would not sail full? Or has this policy been rescinded and I haven't noticed? Regards, Cublet
  15. Hello, I hope Celebrity has got more that two captains. Regards, Cublet
  16. Hello, The cheese selection in the buffet is far superior to the paltry rations served in the MDR. Ditto the biscuits/crackers. Regards, Cublet
  17. Hello, Observing from a distance whenever there's a problem, I'm sure the maintenance crew are perfectly capable of breaking the machine themselves without the assistance of child passengers. Regards, Cublet
  18. Hello, I hope I have not misunderstood what you are saying. Whilst you can 'status match' between RCI & X subject to ceilings listed above, you don't get the points. So say you are DP on RCI, you will be Elite on X but with zero points and you will have to start earning them, from nothing, on X in order to progress to Elite Plus and Zenith. (All that is, of course, subject to including just your Summit points but for this argument it only confuses the principle.) So in this context, making DP on Royal will not affect your X status, moreover staying on Royal to achieve DP will delay you starting to accumulate points on X in order to progress up the X Captains' Club hierarchy. (I'm going to start a movement to move the apostrophe to where it belongs!) Regards, Cublet
  19. Hello, Wrong thread but on-topic - or rather what this topic has morphed into. Reaching Pinnacle on RCI, one of the 'goodies' presented to you at (actually after) the recognition upper tier C&A meeting is said to be Champagne. Oh no it isn't! Regards, Cublet
  20. Hello, What the number or ratio is, I do not know. But solo pricing is limited to 'something' after which the double occupancy rate is applied. I experienced this once myself when all available 'solo occupancy' cabins had been booked, and it was 'pay double or forget it'. Regards, Cublet
  21. Hello, I'm very sorry but I do not remember. Regards, Cublet
  22. Hello, Last month on Silhouette, the only things self-serve were drinks from the various coffee, water and juice machines. Regards, Cublet
  23. Hello, Last year on Silhouette during the 'around the UK staycations' the double page MDR menu had drinks on the left hand page and food on the right. The left hand page was headed (near enough as) 'Wines by the glass included in the Premium Drinks package' and top of the list were two real Champagnes. At the same time, give or take a week, MSC had at least three Champagnes by the glass included in their Premium Plus drinks package. I'll find out what Cunard does in May next year. Regards, Cublet
  24. Hello, I think they need to find another word to describe the charge. I for one look upon the word 'supplement' as being an additive not a multiplier. Regards, Cublet
  25. Hello, One of the things I noticed in May & June on both DL & SL machines is someone had turned-off the automatic rinsing feature. This cleans-off any of the grounds that have stuck to the brewing unit and if too much becomes stuck then the whole shebang gets clogged-up and stops. And it's very messy to unclog. Regards, Cublet
