  1. Besides the two nights we have in Eden we will be eating in one of the four main dining rooms. We booked a couple nights but then after reading hear on cruise critic that we don’t need reservations? How busy and how long are the wait times if we were to go at 7 pm after CC happy hour is over ??
  2. I did not post that correct ! But after reading your summary and looking at the pictures we would’ve been fine with the IV cabin on our upcoming edge cruise!! If a Sunset veranda did not come available.
  3. We had an IV booked for March but a sunset veranda came available so we switched. But looking at you pictures and summary I am sure we would have been happy there also .And I do think it would great for a cold weather cruise since you would get the beautiful views but stay nice and warm.
  4. DaveKathy CBP 🤣🤣 we both laughed because we knew that (we are having some wine!! ) We knew there is a limited HH menu we’re OK with that! We are hoping if we tip the bartender we will get a good martini !! Or good glass of wine before dinner ? We will see ! We will buy a bottle of wine in the dining room if we don’t like the options!!
  5. I have two questions DaveKathy what is CBP?? We are also cruising without a Bev package. When we are given the two hours HH with the free cocktails is the 18 % gratuity added for what it would have costed ? on or do we leave a tip for the bartender separately?? We always like to tip and would like to find our favorite bartender and visit nightly😁🍸🍷
  6. I just checked our March 17 cruise on the edge and all of the menus have disappeared . I was just looking at them two days ago?? Maybe redoing and reducing?? I know I will still find something I like but curious if others can no longer see menus for upcoming cruises?
  7. We have one a 1/2 booked on the Edge in March for the 3rd day. We do not have a beverage package so the bottle vodka, beer and water is definitely a good deal for us .I will check out on day 1 and hope to pick if they are not all booked for day 3. Is there someone that I could check with for availability when we board??
  8. They were all booked when I first booked and when I saw one come available I spent an hour on hold to make the change ! Super happy!! Longer walk but the view is worth it !
  9. We are also doing the same cruise March 17 through BCC . And we were going to be in an IV cabin. I was unsure if I was going to like it or not but a aft sunset veranda came available and was able to switch to that at no extra cost !! I love an aft room ! I am really enjoying you trip review and your random observations!
  10. I look forward to following you on this cruise also we are doing the same cruise in 27 days!!
  11. I look forward to following you on this cruise we will be doing the same itinerary in March ! cheers
  12. We also had a cruise canceled on November 29 and are still waiting for the deposit back. we had a B2B in South America and they canceled one part of it so we canceled the other and they said they would give us the full deposit amount back and are still waiting!!! It also took about three months to get our money back from the quarantine time that we had on our September cruise!!
  13. Oh we are definitely bringing four bottles of wine! We are members of a winery in Sonoma called Landmark that is Pinot and Chardonnay‘s only! We will bring a couple of those and some nice champagne. but we also figure will probably buy a bottle of wine or two especially for the 2 Eden dinners that we have. we just became elite plus after the last cruise so we get a lot some good perks with that and I believe 20% off of bottles of wine also. we will look for the Goldeneye (we have had it in the past but it has been a while) if you left any behind ;))) I just reread your post and realize that you bought the last three!!
  14. That golden eye Pinot caught my eye the last night in Eden! Did you bring that or was that on the menu and if so how much did it cost! We are cruising without a beverage package for the first time also !! We do not mind spending some money for a good bottle of wine!
  15. Thank you for taking the time to share your cruise and pictures!! We are doing this cruise in an aft balcony in March first time on the Edge ! We usually cruise in a sky suites but we both retired early and decided we still want to cruise but just going to figure out a more economical way! We are doing this itinerary in March and after reading your review we booked two dinners in Eden the pictures spoke for themselves!! And the lobster catamaran lunch was booked The first time I looked and was going to book it on our own. I just looked a little while ago and it was available so we have booked that also after your recommendation! We will probably do the other ports on our own ! Thanks again!
  16. I am following this thread also . We were originally booked 2 nights at the Embassy suites at the beginning of our cruise and at the Renaissance for one day after the cruise. after reading many bad reviews about the Embassy suites we move to the Hilton Fort Lauderdale for pre-cruise and so far are still at the Renaissance after the cruise. But was just looking today and there were some negative reviews also . .Ix200gps did say they stayed there lately so I’m hoping we made a good choice . And the comments about it being a seedy area unfortunately most large cities have been seeing a huge influx of homeless and crime .I can’t see why Fort Lauderdale would be any different ! Just watch your surroundings
  17. We have booked our first cruise in a very long time with out a bev. package. We just became elite plus so looking forward to the benefits that come with it .We will enjoy a good coffee followed by a mimosa. And the daily HH .And buying a few cocktails during the day will be so much cheaper than a package !
  18. I’m enjoying your trip report and pictures . Do you happen to know what nights they are doing the chic nights? we will be doing this cruise in March and trying to plan on what nights we want to book at Eden . We were going to book one night but now may be two since we will be dining in the four main dining rooms and not in Luminae this trip . Or wondering if we should book at the steakhouse one night instead of two at Eden ?
  19. That is amazing! Did you get them all as free cruises or discounted cruises?? We did the Boston Canada cruise in September and paid full price for a sky suite .Unfortunately Hurricane Fiona changed the whole itinerary!! We do have two free veranda cruises one 7 Mexico (upgraded to aqua for $20 more per day ) and one 10 day southern Caribbean ended up getting a sunset veranda for just taxes and gratuity!
  20. We were in an infinite veranda on the Edge and a sunset came available and we switched and am looking forward to a real balcony and aft. Our last few cruises were in sky suites but the prices have jumped up so much. Our next seven day is in a aqua. this 10 day we are doing a veranda without any package for the first time. I think with the dining room being separated into four dining spaces it will feel like dining in different restaurants each night so look forward to just trying it out. But we are also booking Eden one day. and if we are not happy with the main dining we will try to book in more specialty restaurants.
  21. I almost can’t believe someone would bring a speaker into a restaurant and no one in the restaurant did not shut that down immediately!!This is very odd to me ???
  22. We will be on the same cruise in March so definitely following along and enjoying your pictures ! I am going to definitely book one evening at Eden after seeing your food and the menu for our March cruise !! The last time we had a private charter also on St Marteen and it rained the entire day!!
  23. If we were using cash I would check it out but had a lot of Hilton points . sorry just saw you were posting to Jim
  24. We were booked at the Embassy suites for a couple months and read a lot of bad reviews from the last few weeks that is why I decided to change . We also have 1 night after at the Renaissance(w/ points)We would have gone home right after cruise but flight home the next day to San Diego was so much cheaper! I want to add the Hilton beach resort was 80,000 points per night but we have two nights and it is in a large ocean view room . I generally I wouldn’t want to use that many points but since after my research it is in the middle of spring break I wanted to rule out any possible party hotels!!
  25. We ended up booking the Hilton Fort Lauderdale beach resort for 160,000 points for ocean view! It looks like a great resort and it would’ve cost us over $1300! Happy with our choice
