  1. No, there are just two of us. Both were checked off automatically, I removed one check mark and verified it was for just one person. Seven night cruise. 45 x 7 = 315.
  2. One package is good for up to five devices. We have four between the two of us, so one would work. The reason I am interested in this is that we have cellphones through our internet provider, Spectrum. For our two phones, we pay a total of $28 a month, for up to 2 gb combined. Any data usage over that is an additional $14 per gb. We go over the 2 gb only when I use my phone extensively on the way home from cruises or road trips. Other than that, we enjoy a cell phone bill of $28. I know the $45 is probably higher than it could be, but it would just be simpler to pay it than work around it.
  3. I am sorry that happened to you! Were you actually charged the $125?
  4. This is not available on my April 16 Magic sailing, but it does appear on my October 1 Celebration sailing, as $45 per sailing. When I click on “add to cart”, it shows up as $315! Carnival has a few kinks to work out with this!
  5. Thank you for the info. I am on the Magic on April 16, but this does not show up on my cruise planner. I will keep checking and will definitely give it a try if available.
  6. Thank you for that very valuable information! I have thought about eventually going that route, but since I (stupidly) did not use the expedited service, I feel like I need to wait a little longer. I have another cruise on April 16 and definitely don’t want to visit those ports without a passport, so I think I will take that next step on April 6.
  7. With all due respect, two weeks is a very long time at Disney and that might be a large part of his reluctance. I would point out the differences between Disney and a ship: not outdoors constantly in the heat, not as hot at sea as in central Florida, the ability to return to the cabin within minutes, use of kids’ clubs for adult time, shows and activities that appeal to adults. He would be able to easily take some time for himself in a quiet place (cabin, solarium) if the number of people becomes irritating or overwhelming. A cruise ship is my absolute favorite place in the world, but Disney is pure punishment for me, even for a day. I also find more than a few days to be too much “extended family time”. He might have similar personality traits and find that he loves cruising for the same reason I do.
  8. I kinda/almost/maybe regret not paying for the expedited service. Many people cruise with birth certificates without a problem, I just don’t want to be one of them! Just curious - when do you use the card vs. the book?
  9. I applied for my renewal online on January 19, nine weeks ago. I still see the same message that appeared the first day, “In process”. The estimated processing time was 5-9 weeks at the time I applied. My SO mailed in his application on January 23. It took 32 days for them to cash his check. His is also “In process”. On March 27, for the first time ever, we are going on a cruise with birth certificates. Not happy 😢
  10. If I find one, I take it on my next cruise and leave it on a different ship or on one of the islands. There will be a pink duck from the Regal Princess on Freedom of the Seas sometime between March 27 and 31. Only one, though. After the first one, I leave them in place for someone else to find.
  11. It is possible that the cabin she was originally booked in was more likely to be booked than any other available cabin at that point (better location)? Other than that, my answer is “complete mystery to me”.
  12. Microfiber beach towels, towel clips, magnetic hooks, beach bag, book, snacks, hairdryer, clock, flashlight.
  13. I hope you are right! We will be returning on that date. Leaving on Monday the 27th, and I am a little worried. We will spend the night before in a hotel in Weston, well away from Miami and leave earlier than usual to get to the parking garage on the 27th.
  14. Mine is still showing in my cruise planner, with no email. And my Royal Up bids are stuck at “submitted”. Today also marks nine weeks since my online passport renewal application. I am in a hold pattern !
  15. Thank you so much! We hate that white-knuckled drive to/from Miami and the express lane will make it a tad easier.
  16. I am just a few months behind you in geezerhood 😂. My SO has had back surgeries and should not be lifting luggage, so I handle all of it. As the weight got to be too much for me, we bought the lightest luggage we could find, multiple small pieces 24” and under. We frequently use off-site parking and the shuttle drivers always comment on the low weight. Each piece has eight wheels, so it spins nicely. We also use luggage straps. When we pick up our luggage in the terminal, I quickly remove one strap and use it to strap two matching pieces together, with the handles adjacent, making it very easy to push two at a time. We have been skipping porters and just taking it on and off the ship ourselves if we have five pieces or less.
  17. I grew up long before backpacks were a thing and I am just too old (and uninterested) to try it now. I figure my carryon is going to take up the same amount of floor space whether it is next to me or in front of me, so I use it as a barrier to save my toes.
  18. We need to take Alligator Alley to the west coast. Does the express lane end soon enough to get on I-75?
  19. I stand against the side of the elevator with my luggage in front of me to protect my toes and avoid being touched by random strangers, but even that is not enough clearance to avoid being smacked by backpacks.
  20. You are right, the options aren’t great. The amount required for the Indy is way too high IMO, especially if you are doing that same cruise next month. I would go with the Celebrity Summit because it is five nights in a balcony, and because I would enjoy the differences in the ship, food, entertainment. You also might catch the eye of their casino program, if you haven’t already. My second choice would be the Hard Rock, but followed by something other than Disney.
  21. Thanks so much for another great review! And for the casino tips - I will play Double Bonus poker at the end of the month on a Royal ship and hope to find $.10 Ultimate X on the Magic in April.
  22. Thank you for that info! We are in 2220 on the Vista with the same set up - an interior room with two portholes, just two of those cabins on the ship. We have had porthole rooms in the past and really enjoyed them. Being so close to the water is another positive for us.
  23. Those kids moved quickly from “stranger danger” to trying to take advantage of adults they will never lay eyes on again.
  24. Double Bonus poker, thank you! And thanks for the tip that there are actually dime versions of Ultimate X. It is definitely dangerous, but I got four aces on the third spin last year and was able to build up enough points for a free cruise (Royal Caribbean).
  25. Would you please tell me the specific name of this game? I play mostly slots, but try video poker at times. I can never remember exactly which game I enjoyed in the past, but this one looks good! Every once in a while I treat myself to Ultimate X, but that is an expensive one during a dry spell.
