  1. I think one of their health benefits is to keep your sick coworkers at a distance during your lunch break 😂
  2. Why, oh why, do I continue to read Sid’s posts while I am eating?? I should know better by now!
  3. I am on my third one over many years. The blue light no longer works, but I am just using it as is.
  4. We don’t need internet every day of a cruise, but the combined four night D+ amenity isn’t quite enough for a 9-night cruise. What is the best combination of that and the Prime discount? Can the Prime discount even be used for just the last half of a cruise, or is it voyage length only?
  5. I leave them at home because we have photos on our phone, but still have that uncomfortable feeling that I am forgetting something.
  6. Gary’s much older sister has rented a place on the beach in Bradenton for six weeks this winter. Originally, she was going to have so many visitors that we wouldn’t have to be here for her 100% of the time. Several have dropped out, leaving us responsible and landlocked. That date was one that we could (almost) count on to sneak away for a few days. I haven’t missed a January/February cruise (other than 2021) in twelve years and am feeling a bit resentful.
  7. I know, it is January 30. I tried to book it as soon as I got the offer on Tuesday, and it didn’t even show up on the regular website. I booked something else instead, and when it reappeared on the website yesterday, I called to see if I could change my booking to the Brilliance. After 55 minutes on the phone, I found out that it was available for guarantee only and the casino cannot book guarantees. So the Freedom it is, and I will probably have to pay for the Tampa cruises.
  8. I live an hour away from the Port of Tampa and frequently look for cruises out of Tampa. I have yet to find a deal, and the cruises are always more expensive than those out of the other Florida ports.
  9. I think the number of times the word “independent” is used is a hint.
  10. The same thing happened to us on the Brilliance in February 2020. Booked a guarantee (only choice available) on Sunday, and received a call on Monday about the overbooking. We were offered a full refund plus any sailing out of Tampa for February, March, or April for only port fees/taxes. Thank goodness we chose the next sailing at the end of February, because we all know what happened soon after. You have a fantastic opportunity to cruise on the Wonder any time during the remainder of 2022 and all of 2023 for only port fees/taxes, plus a refund of what you paid for the overbooked cruise. It might be possible to use your refund for another cruise during the same time period of the original one and you will still have a free cruise on the Wonder to look forward to before the end of 2023. Sounds perfect to me!
  11. That is exactly what happened to us! We thought the ship just had a lot of vibration, then one afternoon we realized it was vibrating while we were in port. It was so bad where we were that it was comical, but didn’t really bother us. We did book a cove balcony far away from 14 aft on the Celebration, though.
  12. I get tired of all of the eating by the third day, so I go early in the cruise while I will still enjoy it.
  13. I didn’t say it was Carnival, because I can’t remember that particular cruise. Probably Royal Caribbean, or possibly Carnival several years ago. But a hint that might help someone else in the future in any case.
  14. If I didn’t know better, I would say my oldest son is due to be there. Every time he visits Florida from NC, there is unusually cold or wet weather. I guess it is possible that some people really are bad luck!
  15. We were in 14486, very close to your cabin, in September 2021. We could here (and feel) the Bolt running, could even tell when the “boost” button was pushed. It sounded like it was running through our closet, but apparently the white space in that area is where the Bolt is fastened to the framework of the ship. The hours it runs aren’t too bad and it amused us rather than bothered us, just curious if you can hear it or feel the vibrations?
  16. Our luggage was missing after a cruise around seven years ago. My late SO was not happy with the assigned tag number, so he went to Guest Services and obtained new tags with a lower number. He filled out and attached the tag to his bag while I completed my own. We got to the luggage pickup area and my bag was there, but not his. After searching for over forty-five minutes, it was finally located. When he got the new luggage tags, the number was not changed in our account. The new tag fell off his bag at some point. Luckily, his personal luggage tag with his name and address was spotted, our account was checked, and his bag was delivered to the area of the old tag number. Since that number was a lot higher than the new number, it took quite a while for the bag to be brought out and we were able to search that particular area. So, if you ever exchange your assigned tags for a different number and your luggage does not show up, look in the area for the original tag number. And never, ever allow the person who attached the tags to perform that task again, just do it yourself!
  17. I have never been questioned about my wine. I do wrap the bottle in bubble wrap, because I am an overachiever and a little bit OCD - we use off-site parking and I am afraid it will be damaged on the shuttle. The shape of the bottle remains but the label is not visible. It might be worth a try for getting not-quite-wine on board.
  18. I have to admit I am a little disappointed. I was hoping it was something new that indicated a winning bid. But at least the process is now working for you.
  19. I am not offended at all! I have absolutely no taste when it comes to wine and I admit it! I was 69 when I drank that Cruiser, so I don’t anticipate ever living long enough to become a wine connoisseur.
  20. I don’t care for wine, but I keep Arbor Mist on hand to mix with ginger ale and ice. I take a bottle of their blackberry Merlot on cruises to enjoy while I am drying my hair and putting on makeup. To keep this in perspective, I had one Cruiser on the Mardi Gras, made from three kinds of fruit juice and three kinds of alcohol that I mistakenly thought would be 1/3 shot of each. I don’t know how Gary got me to the cabin, but I woke up the next morning still wearing my formal night dress (although the strapless bra was on the floor), makeup smeared all over the pillowcase, and various body parts of towel animals underneath me or scattered randomly on the floor. Arbor Mist is the best bet for some of us!
  21. Does “offer received” appear in the email you received after you made the offer, or do you see it after you click on “modify/cancel” and the bid details appear? My earlier response referred to the bid details page, not the email. .
  22. Actually, the initial comment changed from “pending” to “submitted” a couple of months ago. “Offer received” is different, wonder if they have made more changes to the program. Maybe it means you are under consideration or have moved to the next step (whatever that might be). Please keep us informed!
  23. To use the escalator in the terminal, you must have one hand free to hold the railing. Guests with more than one bag will have to take the terminal elevator instead. Up until that point, there is no difference.
  24. We have been there twice. It is owned by the Nachi Cocom family and the food and customer service are the same. It is a tiny place, with just a bar, loungers, and a pool. The only access to the water is down some stairs into an area with rocks, so good for snorkeling but not wading/swimming. I believe that is why it is adults only. It is easy walking distance from the port area, peaceful and relaxing, with good food and drinks. And a great view of the harbor and ships. It was $29 when we went twice last year.
