  1. Let's add fuel to the fire: How is this any different that a smoker sitting on a slot chair AND not playing the machine. Been thinking of something to post ALL day. It's raining...and I am bored.
  2. Oops....When OP mentioned stationary, I thought they were asking about the personalized printed stationery that was in suites. Reading it again (reading comprehension issue by this OP), I see they are referring to the notepad. I received them on the Grand within the past few months. Sometimes you need to ask your steward. They can "find" things that have been eliminated.
  3. Are you selecting +1 before entering entire number without spaces?
  4. @chubbypiggy @Thrak Don't know how to add my email to my account...Maybe Thrak knows. Or others. princess user name a t gmail dot _____ No spaces. I'll share all about the islands with you. I don't check that account often, so may be a while before you get a response.
  5. While you are still on the ship, I would speak to the office in charge at the Excursion Desk and explain your concerns. 1. DIfference in what you booked and what you got. 2. Price 3. Having to leave the show early and still wait in the bus. 4. Considering that this was an overnight stay, there should not have been a rush to get you back. The least they can do is offer you refundable OBC or refund the cost of the excursion.
  6. Decisions Decisions Decisions: Where toplace this link. It includes the "cabana like cabins'' and the Coffee Pots. This is "how" the cabana cabins on a different cruise line (already in service works)...." The Sun Princess isnot for me. Considering I won't cruise on the Royal Class ships, it is even more doubtful that I will sail on the Sun Class ships. DIsclaimer. It is dreary and raining today so have spent a good portion of my day cruising the internet. Enjoyed videos by Canadian Don and other interesting YouTube.
  7. That is what I am planning to do. Decided it was too much work to taxi to free shuttle, unload/reload on bus. Walking is out of the question. PLUS....i'm going to beat everyone/crowd who is waiting on the shuttle. Embarkation lunch....is waiting for me.
  8. I have the most current app on both the iPhone and iPad. Everything is "finally" functioning properly. I would not dare re-install or do anything to allow Princess to mess up what is currently working well. Recently had issues with uploading document and credit card. More important to have those fixed.
  9. You had much better food at the buffet than you would have had at the Luau. But I agree, not fair to substitute buffet for Luau. I wonder if this is because they provided you with "Ha". Did the initial excursion include both the Luau (with Polynesian show) AND "Ha"?
  10. Not available for any of my four 2023 cruises. No surprise in the inconsistency.
  11. I ran across Don's YouTube channel. This might answer a lot of your questions.
  12. @chubbypiggy A quick google maps search says it is a 8 - 10 minute walk. Not sure I would like to do that dragging my luggage. I don't know how to travel light! https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Daiwa+Roynet+Hotel+Yokohama-Koen,+204-1+Yamashitacho,+Naka+Ward,+Yokohama,+Kanagawa+231-0023,+Japan/Yamashita+Park,+279+Yamashitacho,+Naka+Ward,+Yokohama,+Kanagawa+231-0023,+Japan/@35.4456658,139.641409,16z/data=!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x60185cfacdd6858d:0x394a2c75203ac6bd!2m2!1d139.6420281!2d35.4434633!1m5!1m1!1s0x60185ce2b1bb57b7:0xe3ba49f16272376c!2m2!1d139.6497793!2d35.4457655!3e2
  13. She's ready and waiting for her first Yokohama run. The sun is rising and it is 06:05 AM Yokohama time on 2023-03-15.
  14. Haven't looked it up, but it has been mentioned a couple of times. Families traveling together are able to have the adults in one room and children in nearby cabins or adjoining cabins. Maybe someone can chime in on this.
  15. I am surprised the port guides were not included. They used to be automatic (from Excursion Desk). I know I have stopped by to pick them up. They are no longer handed out on the way off the ship. I don't remember if there is a box on the app to request/not request them. Currently, they are on the app...but only visible when you are on the ship. At one time, they were available before the cruise...but too small to read. Thank you for taking the time to post all of the documents.
  16. You did your homework. A+ for all of your descriptions and language lessons. This IS a huge property. For those not in the know, part of the reason for building this tourist attraction was to allow students at the college (BYU of the Pacific) to share their culture and earn money to defer the cost at the college. So glad you had the opportunity to visit (again). Looks like you planned your time there efficiently. Isn't it amazing how different each village is/was.
  17. Where are you staying? I don't have an answer for you. Osanbashi Pier and Daikoku Terminal are not the same and about 2 miles apart. https://osanbashi.jp/ The shuttle is picking up passengers at Yamashita Park.
  18. The Diamond Princess is requiring everyone to wear a mask while in public spaces. Here is an article from a Hawaii newspaper that I thought might reflect the customs and mindset of Japanese people. They have been wearing masks way before the pandemic. https://www.staradvertiser.com/2023/03/13/breaking-news/masks-stay-put-in-japan-as-3-year-request-to-wear-them-ends/ Not opening this up to a debate about masks. Please do not go off on a tangent. This is meant to be non-opinionated and for information only.
  19. @mandapanda13Thank you for contributing to this thread. Diamond Princess will begin her first cruise out of Japan on March 15 (that's tomorrow for those already there). Hopefully, many will contribute their experiences here. So excited for everyone going out of Japan.
  20. Where have you been? Oh, yes, you were on a cruise. There are a couple of threads regarding this "new" program from Princess Promotions. Lots of people have chimed in...One person......has raved about it (one and only post).
  21. The "right" answer: Tables and chairs at Vines should be available for Vines participants. It is up to the wine server there and/or Customer Service to clear the area of non-drinkers/sitters. The alternative answer: If Vines is closed (no attendant) then it is a free for all. (same for Wheelhouse, Skywalkers, etc.) The problem answer: Princess does not provide enough open spaces for everyone to find a quiet place to enjoy themselves. IF something is happening in the Piazza...it's loud. IF something is happening at the Explorer's Lounge, those nice comfy chairs outside the venue ...it's too loud.
  22. It has been years (like when they first opened) that I've been to the PCC. Thanks for the photos. You are correct, 3 hours to visit all the villages just isn't enough time. I am surprised the tour didn't leave "earlier". In Kama'aina miles...it is a really long drive. My son-in-law drove from town out to Kuuloa (Chinaman's Hat) every day. He didn't think twice about it (grew up on the mainland). Looking forward the rest of your day.
  23. The skeptic in me is wondering why Princess is doing this? Not enough buyers? Get you hooked? Add that many more to the reserved seating area....Ha what a deal????
