  1. Not me...but thank you for chiming in. You are truly appreciated. Arigato Gozaimasu
  2. Summary: Ship: Majestic Destination: Crown/Sapphire Is that what you are referring to?
  3. BTW....Princess is not notifying you that medallions have shipped. You need to check the app to see if it was sent out. Then wait. No way of knowing if it arrived. One more "if not broke, don't fix". I ordered mine without the Plus Package (but before the increase). As far as I know, I wasn't charged for shipping.
  4. Now that the Diamond Princess is on her first cruise out of Yokohama (I should have taken this one!), I am not going to try to cut and paste the comments from @ringers0815. S/he is doing a great job of keeping us informed with important procedures. S/he is on their vacation so not asking for daily reports (not doing a live), but if you want more information about Korea or Japan requirements, keep a watch on this thread.
  5. Hysterical...Going to be a tough decision. I am not a Royal Class fan (smaller token balconies, no full promenade deck, too many passengers/not enough public spaces, Princess theater not enlarged to accommodate crowds...etc.). Balcony size shouldn't matter much for one person. From my understanding, the balcony is not not wide enough to face forward. I prefer the older Grand Class ships. Yes, they do have their problems and void of bells and whistles. Alaska is about scenery. Don't confine yourself to your room. Get out and about. Sit on the Promenade Deck. Walk out to the bow of the ship. Go up to Skywalkers...so many more public spaces on the Crown.
  6. @VibeGuy I get super excited about getting stamps on my National Park “passport”. Lucky you.
  7. https://www.kitv.com/news/local/powerful-winds-send-boats-adrift-in-maui-harbor-grounding-one/article_a60a3a34-bdfc-11ed-8ee2-472c62203df8.html This was a disappointment considering all of last year's docking was in Kahului. But I understand that just a few voyages before you, Lahaina was also missed. I was hoping you would head over to Hilo for the night. Wonder why he stayed at sea.
  8. I recently booked a cruise. I asked my TA to reserve the lowest inside possible. She "protects" me and told me that the lowest fare (forward) would be booked as a non-refundable deposit (even with my FCD). "But" if I chose a cabin aft (slightly higher bottom price), then it would be booked as a refundable FCD. I trust my TA to look after me.
  9. I have been through the canal numerous times (Ocean to Ocean) and have never had my passport "examined" and stamped. I made the mistake of renewing my passport with more pages. Then they "STOPPED" stamping them since everything is digital now. So disappointed. Now I am stuck with this clumsy thick passport until my next renewal.
  10. Yes, gone are: Kodak Hula Show, International Market Place/Don Ho's, The Pavilion, etc. Waikiki Sand is trucked in since the currents take the beach sand out. If you want to do Waikiki on your next trip, let me know and I will "find" evening entertainment for you. I can so identify with your sister. I don't do beach, sun, ocean, coconuts, and pineapple.
  11. You are not missing much in Waikiki. I actually did a "staycation" in Waikiki since I had a free Marriott room. First time I've been back to the area in DECADES. I've driven through. I've gone to specific events. I've never spent any time "walking the streets" in a really long time. Sad to see the International Market Place "re-invented".
  12. Well, then. Right in plain sight. Great going @Shelly97060. IF this doesn't convince them, nothing will.
  13. I just learned how to do "incognito" browsing. But then again, I am cautious but not paranoid. I have been hacked, scammed, and a victim of identity theft. You can be as careful as the best sleuths, but there is always someone who is better. I don't choose to live my life in fear.
  14. You have done more than is required as a friend. You alerted them to the issues they may encounter. Princess Agents are not always the best go to resource. There is nothing more you can do since they are willing to take the risk on their travel investment. https://help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-74?language=en_US "However, if you board a cruise ship in San Diego, California, sail through the Panama Canal (stopping at a foreign port during the cruise), and end the cruise in Miami, Florida, you have not taken a closed loop cruise. The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) requires you to travel with a valid passport (including infants)." What your friends do is up to them.
  15. I have a power strip from IKEA. Bought it from IKEA but it is also sold via Amazon. I got called down to the "naughty" room and pleaded my case that it WAS NOT a surge protector. No use, I lost. I now have "documentation" (printed from Amazon) that my power strip IS NOT a surge protector. Will see how far that gets me. Never thought of adding a note to my device. AND YES, Princess does not have enough outlets for modern times. A step in the right direction for replacing bed lamps with usb ports.
  16. This won't work since your room number shows up as caller ID.
  17. I prefer hard sided luggage. Travel Pro and Away have very high ratings. I like Delsey that is NOT a clam shell. It unzips, the top opens, and is so much easier to pack. I just purchased a great Delsey 19" hard sided carry on with a very user friendly front pocket. https://www.amazon.com/Titanium-International-Expandable-Spinner-Luggage/dp/B00MQEVGK6/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_w=Rot2t&content-id=amzn1.sym.bc5f3394-3b4c-4031-8ac0-18107ac75816&pf_rd_p=bc5f3394-3b4c-4031-8ac0-18107ac75816&pf_rd_r=X5GFFY57Z4Y0CN3BK797&pd_rd_wg=7Mnt2&pd_rd_r=1e959dd1-a78d-45bd-9632-0e205fff39ff&ref_=pd_gw_ci_mcx_mr_hp_atf_m
  18. This is a new and interesting thread. I don't have an answer but my first inclination would be that your husband would be the first one to take on the responsibility. I am sure if you asked your waiter, he would assist you. But I can't imagine the waiter standing over your meal waiting for you to take the next bite. Doubt the kitchen would send out a plate of cut up food (but I could be wrong).
  19. I will admit that I am a germaphobe. When refillable bottles first came on the market, I asked the vendor how sanitary this would be. I was attending a Tourism/Hotel/Hospitality fair. We had a very long discussion about the benefits of refillable bottles (and environmental uses). But representative did admit that this was not the healthiest and safest method for all. There was no way to control someone removing the spout and contaminating to fluid. There was no way to assure that the contents were "fresh" since bottles would be refilled from the top over left over/old products. Sure....the pump takes from the bottom. There were many other reasons that were discussed that convinced me that refillable bottles are not for me. So I just bring my own. I'm not in the mindset of removing the small bottles to take because "I paid for them". My reasons for small bottles were strictly for personal hygiene.
  20. The Grand Class ships do not have curtains separating the two areas. Easy remedy is magnetic hooks on the ceiling and a cloth shower curtain.
  21. And if you watch YouTube video's, the channel "learns" what you watch and offers you more of the same. Big Brother is out there. S/he is watching.
  22. One added step. But yes, he could ask for a card. Customer Service would ask him for his medallion. He could refuse to give up his magnet. He would have one that was active and the other not. Then he could chose to through it in the trash. When my medallion died on a back to back, I asked to keep my old one. No problem.
  23. You have a "valid" reason to be there. I'm sure your wife is contributing for the both of you. But I was just being cantankerous.
