  1. • to locate fellow cruisers (with their permission) • to crew chat rather than go up to Customer Service Desk • to view activities in Journey View although Ocean Concierge is a better platform for viewing patter. IT DOES NOT Reserve you a space anywhere. • to gamble (although I wouldn't do this)
  2. You can also do a quick check under payments and click crew appreciations. If you paid for plus, you will see this notice: Crew appreciations paid for as part of the promotion. Crew appreciation included are in the ship's onboard currency. Amount of crew appreciation paid on behalf of guest varies based on stateroom type. This amount is paid on the behalf of all guests in a stateroom. Crew appreciation does not include service charges added for beverage packages, drinks, specialty dining, private group functions, and other services or amenities provided that are not included in your cruise fare.
  3. Looks like you are looking for information for a Hawaii cruise. Do you have an iPhone or Android? I can only make comments for an iPhone. 1. Place iPhone on airplane mode while on the ship. While in any Hawaii port, you can turn your phone back on and use the same as if you were in the Continental US. 2. Turn on wi-fi calling. You will be able to make calls while on the ship. I don't know about receiving calls (never have). 3. iMessage on iphone will work if you have an INTERnet package. You can either log off the computer or it will automatically ask you if you want to switch devices. Pain in the okole, but you can survive with one device package. And funny you should mention a 12 year old. I was on facetime with my 7 year old grandson just a few minutes ago. He was walking me through several "issues" I was having by screen sharing. Last night I was chatting with his father who was "fixing" things for me. He is the one that suggested I talk to "the kid" to get more help. 2 engineers and a tech savvy kid. Nice to have my own tech support team.
  4. We are on page 197 with 4914 posts (yes....almost 5 THOUSAND). You would think Princess would "notice" that the app has problems. Ready for version Part 4?
  5. Yes, I misreported. It is NOT a closed loop voyage since it starts in one US port and ends in a different US port. It would be the same as going from Florida to Los Angeles. A passport is required. A passport may ALSO be required for some of the ports visited. Recommend getting a passport.
  6. I wish I could help you here, but I know nothing about NCL. You don't need a passport to fly into Puerto Rico to pick up the cruise, nor do you need one to disembark in New York. Don't know if a passport is needed for any of the other ports.
  7. Thank you for the clarification. Window Suites are nice but there are several issues: 1. They are usually sold out as soon as the voyage opens. 2. If you can still see availability, usually F301 (smallest/but still better than nothing). 3. Window Suites costs about the same as a Club Class Mini without a balcony. 4. If they book a WS, they will receive Suite perks, including Club Class dining. If you want to dine with them, then you would also need to be in a CC mini or a Full Suite. 5. Window Suites and Family Suites almost always have to be called in to "see" which cabins are available. I don't understand why they have lumped WS into this grouping. Option: Look into a Family Suite. Disadvantages: 1. Forward on ship 2. One queen bed balcony room/1 interior room with twins and pullmans/1 sofa sleeper. (sleeps 8). Advantages: 1. Less than a full suite fare for all 2. Everyone gets suite perks (specialty breakfast/CC dining) If cost is a factor, then I would go with a mini for the family and for you: interior/balcony I don't know much about connecting cabins. Other things to consider: 1. Is pre-schooler still taking naps? 2. Small enough to fit on an inflatable travel bed? (My 3 year old granddaughter is still sleeping on her crib size mattress)
  8. Oh, I read this all wrong (more reading comprehension issues/getting too old to multitask). If there are 3 adults and 1 child in one cabin, are you paying 4 full fares? 1. How about getting a balcony and an interior. Might cost less than a mini-suite for 4. Cabin 1: Grandmother/child (no single supplement for Grandmother) Cabin 2: Daughter/husband. 2. Even getting a mini-suite and an interior will cost you less than 4 in a mini-suite. Swap the kid out to the mini-suite once on board (sofa) and Grandmother can have the interior all to herself. 3. Get two interiors
  9. Princess threw out the baby with the bathwater. The coffee card was a very successful no nonsense package. The could have modified it. They could have changed the amount. They could have.....but they didn't.
  10. Don't know where to post this comment, so this seems like a good place. My sister complained about Medallion Class App as being difficult. I will admit it was pre web site days. She is an avid Holland America Mariner. HA ! She has to download their app now for a cruise coming up. She is able to do most of it on their personalizer, but will still have to upload docs. I have finally learned not to stress over the broken Princess App. Like the weather, it will change tomorrow and be fixed again. (most times). Once you get all of your information in, following cruises are a snap. BTW...you would think Princess and Holland America are twins. They are both not clear about anything such as Covid requirements for certain voyages. I really think Princess needs to have loyal passengers in a BETA group. Give us a free cruise and we will debug everything!
  11. I wonder if the kitchen has a rainy day menu? With only a few hours the menus were printed and food served. I witnessed CD Cole pull together a patter when the Grand was "detoured". Creative genius to pull this off.
  12. NOT the Caribbean Princess too ! ? Who's coming up with this hair brain ideas?
  13. As mentioned many times before, I am so thankful for my TA. She never lets me book non-refundable deposit cruises. I sometimes get so excited, I don't read the fine print. I have learned not to put anything on hold without "her permission/lol. If I do put something on hold...it never includes money.
  14. @Anemix Thank you for your thoughtful post. But I was too late. All 3 ports I requested guides could not find me any. I will continue on my own. I don't have any major agenda. A few things we would like to see, but hunting for Cherry Blossoms and food. Appreciate you chiming in for all.
  15. IF....EZ Air is "busy", it defaults back to a Princess Agent. Go figure. Good Luck.
  16. EZ Air flights should change instantaneously. I only had to refresh my page. When that didn't work, I called back and someone else had to "fix" what the first agent didn't do. EZ Air - 800-545-0008
  17. Caribbean Princess does not have "premium" rooms. Also, pushing the queen bed against the wall will make it really hard for the steward to fix the bed. I recommend an air bed or a mini-suite.
  18. Thank you for the clarification. Hopefully, you will see credit on your cc or the OBC will be in the form of "refundable" and you can ask Customer Service to hand over the money. I understand they are holding your money hostage until you board. That's not nice of Princess.
  19. When the Premier Beverage Package was introduced with 2 complimentary specialty dinners, I knew there were going to be issues! Pre-pandemic (Crown Grill was an excellent dining experience), it was already difficult to get reservations onboard….at a time you preferred. Now add 2 (4 as a couple) more patrons (one table/booth) to the mix x however many purchased the package) and you have a logistical nightmare. Size of restaurant remains the same. Throw into the mix the inability of IT to pre-reserve times (charge/no charge) and Princess has created a monster. Again, looks good on paper.
  20. If this is the requirement, then they would still need to purchase at least 4 beverage packages? cabin 1: mom + kiddo 1 cabin 2: dad + kiddo 2 Princess will get their $$$$ one way or another.
  21. I’ve always wondered why children are charged full fare on a cruise. On occasion, there are promotions that third and fourth passengers are free. But that would not help in booking 2 cabins. (They get a slight break in Specialty dining.) Let us know what you finally decide on….everyone is always interested in outcomes.
  22. Unless they are booking on kids go free. How old are the "kids"? I've never traveled with kids, but would have great hesitations if the two kids were under 5 in a separate cabin. If you book 2 cabins....make sure you are marked no upgrade.
  23. How current is this? Done deal? or in the works? Whew...Grand Princess is NOT on your list, yet.
  24. Lately, that is how I feel about Princess altogether. There has been so many changes that my head is spinning. I am one of those people that don't do well with changes (OCD???? tendencies...) One answer...10 more questions. Thanks to everyone for your "valuable" inputs.
  25. I am not discounting OP's experience. But as many have said, she (photo) is an experienced cruiser and been on CC since 2000. There have been many thread about this. I (usually) have a suite complimentary dinner the first night. As others have been able to book a dinner at a specialty dinner pre-cruise, I have never been able to do so. I just do it when I get onboard. I am not clear on why she was asking for a refund? Glitch that booked and charged a dinner to her cc without her authorization? Booked a complimentary dinner but was charged? Booked but changed her mind?
