  1. And where would you place these machines in an inside cabin where space is already at a premium. And the pods (disposal). And the maintenance. How much longer before the Sun Princess is up and running? How many modifications will be filtered through until she is online?
  2. In my opinion and experience (not counting for much), I am wondering why Princess is putting this on the passenger and Travel Agent. Princess cancelled this portion of the cruisetour. When I had to cancel a cruise (similar but not the same), my Travel Agent mentioned that she is NOT an insurance professional (only sells the PVP). She is not bonded. She is not (I forget the real terminology) an insurance person. Therefore, she really could not get involved with filing a claim for me with the insurance company. I would have to directly work with Princess and AON. Granted, OP's cancellation is much more complicated: hotel, air fare, food, etc. I would start a claim with the insurance company and let them sort it out with Princess. It would be slightly easier if OP had Princess Vacation Protection or maybe not.
  3. There are other things to consider (both are under the "legal" age as defined by Princess). You will need to get power of attorneys for both travels (medical authorization). Not sure about some kind of "authorization" to take the travels out of the country. Will they each have passport? Do they have their own credit cards (a long time ago, I got my 5 year old her own credit card/long story). Cabin assignments are a minor issue, but you will need to research the legal aspects of taking an unrelated traveler with you.
  4. Details, please. What did Princess do with you for those extra days? Bottom line, I hope everyone who travels has Princess Vacation Protection or some other form of insurance for situations like this.
  5. A rough estimate. Take the cost of YOUR fare minus cabin only fare (insurance/fees and taxes/ beverage package *if purchased) = cost of cruise tour. Then you won’t be in sticker shock when Princess finally sorts this all out. I noticed cruise tour is not available, at this time. You definitely have a unique problem. Good Luck.
  6. Thank you for the technical explanation. Maybe I should have phrased it differently. Both the card and the medallion will have access to his security photo (and other information). Therefore, both work similarly. Is that more accurate? Love it when others fill in the missing gaps in my thinking. Fingers, brain, and wording do not always sync.
  7. Why are these guys so much cuter than the ones sitting on the shelves in the store? Such personality. So darling.
  8. Sure, he can do without a medallion. I'm speculating here. Never tried it so don't have exact scenario. With his cabin mate have a medallion and checked in using the Medallion APP? Will he have a boarding time? Will he have pre-ordered or pick up at port medallion? • Stand in a line to get to an agent in the terminal. • Show the agent your passport and other documents that weren't loaded on to the app. I am not sure they have "ready made cruise cards" at the desk. They will have his medallion waiting for him if it was not sent to the house. • Stand in line to have security take his photo. • Stand in line at the Customer Service Desk to turn his medallion (that got him on the ship) for a cruise card. I hope you aren't checking in with him. Get on the ship faster, have fun, and enjoy embarkation lunch. Let him enjoy his desire to go medallion-less.
  9. Great suggestion. There are, soon to be, another class ship (Sun Princess). And with the different modifications to the Grand Class Ships, it is difficult to give ship specific information.
  10. The medallion IS ABLE to function just like the cruise card: It will open you door. It will get you on and off the ship. It can "pay" for your purchases and drinks. On the Medallion APP, he is able to turn off the "find me" locator so the medallion will not show where he is to his friends friends. You can "chat" with him through the Medallion APP, but he doesn't need to respond. His security photo will be on the cruise card or the medallion. It is a required function to get on and off the ship. Has he cruised before? Is he able to understand that Princess will track him when he goes in and out of the room or off the ship? If he buys anything from the stores or bars? Bottom line, he can stick with the cruise card, but it won't change the information Princess will gather from him. @Mike45LC did a good job in his post.
  11. I know exactly what @JimmyVWine (thank you) is saying. But to a new poster or passenger, Princess makes it sound like..."blah, blah, blah, blah". Princess Plus: wifi, gratuity, drinks Plus Beverage Package: drinks This is as clear as mud.....(below) Our "Princess Plus" fare includes our Princess Plus Beverage Package, Wi-Fi and Crew Appreciation!
  12. There is a little bit of confusion here (again...Princess uses the same language for different functions). OP said s/he booked with EZ Air. Then wanted to add a transfer from the port to the airport. Poster suggested EZ Check (convenience from some ports/airlines) thinking it would be helpful information. OP Mixes up the terms EZ Check with EZ Air. Not the same. I am not 100% sure that Princess would not help you with booking airport transport at the end of the cruise. You can do it while on board (space permitting) and it is more $ for Princess. Try chat to see if you can do it yourself. It is a mess. TA needs to cancel transfer before you leave on your cruise. Getting a refund is difficult now a days (you will, it will just take longer). When my TA did it for me...1. She took my credit card information and paid it immediate. 2. I received an updated invoice showing me the transfer as paid. Good luck in getting this straightened out.

  14. I didn't realize there were 2 kinds of scones. And yes, pub lunch is now being served in the MDR on a sea day. Really does conflict with Tea Service (also only served on Sea Days). But what are your chances of picking Pub Lunch and Tea Service on the one out of 10 sea days... Glad you were able to enjoy both. Do you have to request it the day before or the morning of?
  15. I extracted the post from another cruiser. It "seems" as though the shuttle is free (Princess) and will pick up at Yamashita Park.
  16. I'm lost. How did he book the transfer from the airport to the port if you are already on the ship? There is no way he could have booked for your second cruise. Princess would not have allowed that to happen (I would think). Easy to cancel. Easy to rebook. I'd find a new TA. You need to be in contact with your TA and get this straightened out ASAP.
  17. Did you find out via the app or onboard folio? Afterthought....you ARE able to account/watch for your 15 drinks. My reference is to a person who is unable to keep track of how many drinks they are ingesting.
  18. You have a much more serious problem IF you can't remember/keep track of how many alcoholic drinks you are consuming in a 24 hour period.
  19. Your travel agent "should be" able book your transfer at the end your cruise AND charge you the payment. I just asked mine to do the same. If s/he does not do this, you can make a purchase onboard...space permitting.
  20. Thank you @ringers0815 1. We are in Japan now and travel with our medication (prescription and over the counter) with no problem. I think if you have any “controlled” substances you need to declare them. 2. we use our own cell phones and have no problem with data. 3. Chinatown is very close to Yamashita park and pier (a 5 or 10 min walk depending on where you are in Chinatown) where there will be a shuttle picking up passengers to bring them to daikoku pier. Or if you take a taxi from Chinatown it should not take more than 15 minutes to the pier (depending on traffic). 4. the south Korean embassy in Canada told me we needed to apply for an ETA to visit Jeju island. So we applied using the K-ETA app. With the app it’s easy to do. I find it surprising that Princess has not sent out info on this so maybe they plan on doing something when passengers are on board. During our cruise from San Diego to Tokyo, Princess required all passengers to use the Visit Japan web site to obtain our “quarantine” blue screen. Maybe they will do something similar when people are on board ie ask people to apply for the ETA. Hope these answers help you. You might also find this link helpful. 21. I travel with a friend (not related). I was the only one getting CCL stockholder OBC. Could it be because we used separate credit cards and each had our own folio? Not doubting you, but I've never had to share any OBC with my cabin mate.
  22. Don't know where I read it, but Norman Love contract expired so they can't call it Chocolate Journeys by brand name.
  23. I am so proud of myself...I figured this out on my own earlier today. I did a Princess search about bidding. Opened the page. Typed in my name and booking number and it pulled up my "pending" bid. Now waiting to see how long it will be pending.
