  1. Yes....Exactly my reaction when I received the forwarded email from my TA that she received from Princess yesterday. I'm on a Diamond Princess out of Japan. Trying to comprehend exactly what is needed. This is my interpretation: 1. Take a self-administered (over the counter) Rapid Antigen (Home/free) Test 2. One day (24 hours or calendar day) before embarkation 3. Take a photo of a negative test results (the card/or test device) 4. With a time and date stamp (how do you do that?). 5. Would this image from my phone suffice? The sample includes: image/date/time. It is an over the counter test/not proctored. It also mentions that testing/test kits will not be available at the port. There is no mention of identification documents. produce at check-in a photo of their negative self-administered COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test taken within one day before cruise embarkation with a time and date stamp.
  2. So now I am TOTALLY confused (not hard to do). Received a recent invoice for an enhanced cruise down the line. Before this, it was a PCR, proctored rapid antigen, or even self test 72 hours and/or 3 days before (whichever invoice/web site your read). In addition, guests ages 5 and above must produce at check-in a photo of their negative self-administered COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test taken within one day before cruise embarkation with a time and date stamp. Please note that testing and self-tests will not be available at the pier. Face masks will be required indoors on board for guests 5 years and older. It is strongly recommended all guests are up to date with their COVID-19 and Influenza vaccinations before travel. Review health and safety information at https://bit.ly/pcl_chfaq. Princess needs to stop confusing me. I won't even get into the "non mentioned" documents that a passenger needs to fill out.
  3. I select all and copy/paste into a word document. It's not that I don't trust Princess, but do it all the time when it is something that is "critical" to my booking.
  4. So often OPs do not return to the board. Thank you for keeping us updated. Always nice to see that you were able to get this resolved.
  5. I am not sure what you mean by faux balconies? It a place where you can sit. It is shaded. It is unobstructed. You have privacy; there are very few passengers who will climb the stairs to get up to the bow of the ship. You will have beautiful views at night when it is dark outside.
  6. Welcome to Cruise Critic. Princess is not the company you need to go after. The Lotus Spa is a concession. They "rent" spaces on Princess ships as well as on other cruise lines. I agree that the best resolution comes from solving the problem while still onboard the ship.
  7. As always with Princess....It depends. I have been in a full suite for less than 6 days and have received specialty dinners....SOMETIMES. There is no consistency to this policy.
  8. Thanks for all of the updates. This seems to be one of Princess' more successful programs. It was the brainchild of Dave Cole, Dave Soreff, and Faline Leialoha Kini @Elua Kudos to Princess for expanding and keeping the Hawaiian Cultural Ambassador Program running.
  9. I should have been more clear. It was “obvious” that it was a “good will” gesture when it was FIRST offered. It is no difference than the “bonus” gift cards that are given when you buy Princess gift cards. They have an expiration date. Panera Or Oliver Garden gift cards bought at Christmas time come with $$ bonus cards. They expire at the end of January.
  10. From the standpoint of a business, Princess has no reason for extending "free" goodwill FCC to their customers. I do not know the reason for your goodwill FCC. There were so many different reasons passengers were given them. They may extend Future Cruise Credits that were for a cancelled cruise or other such reasons. Never hurts to try, but don't be disappointed if the answer is a "no". Good Luck
  11. Did you get one? How was it? I will NEVER know.
  12. I know people there too....I deal with Straub a lot. They are a very good medical group. Happy to hear that you will be home in your own bed soon. Now to find someone who will bring you room service when you get home. Safe travels.
  13. Hawaii is such a small place (even with over a million residents). My daughter's classmates are at Queens. One is an anesthesiologist. I know of a good cardiologist (2) there too. I am surprised you and I have never crossed paths (Hawaii or Signal Hill). You should have studied more instead of becoming a pilot. BTW...ever crew with Representative Kahele? My apologies to @sterling2. Don't mean to hijack your thread. Hope all is going well this Monday for you and your husband. Hawaii folks are so friendly.
  14. Beautiful wide promenade. Pathetic looking chairs. What a waste of real estate.
  15. Just out of curiosity (not necessary to share if you don’t care to), was he taken to Queen’s Hospital? Who was his surgeon? Who was his anesthesiologist? or privately communicate with me at princess username A T Gmail dot cxx Hope you have more question. I like sharing my island!
  16. You have a long flight home. See if you can request a portable DVT device. https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/treatment-tests-and-therapies/dvt-prevention-intermittent-pneumatic-compression-devices It will require a prescription and maybe a pre-authorization from your physician. Some insurance companies will cover it, others won't. I had to really work at my insurance company to pay (at least a portion of it) when I broke a bone near my baby toe. Glad he will be released soon. I think this deserves a first class ticket home. Too bad that can't be claimed to Princess. Hawaii has great medical support and care (even though we are short of doctors).
  17. I ordered the 4 device option via the computer. It is currently showing up on my phone app. I "believe" all you will need is your cabin number and birthdate to log on to any of the 4 devices. I've only had single device in the past. When I logged on, it would automatically log off the other device (or at least ask). With 4 devices. you shouldn't be kicked off any of the other 3.
  18. Often times, F301 (Grand or Caribbean) is not booked and used for upgrade or bidding. Even if it is the last one available, I would still take it! Depending how far out your cruise is, another WS may become available. Just keep checking.
  19. An afterthought. I did check this place out: https://ivyliving.com/theivyhawaiikai/ You would need to give them a call for up to date information. But when I checked out this place: 1. You could "rent" a room for you and your husband on a month to month rate, fully furnished with all meals. 2. They had a limited physical therapist but would probably drive you to the closest one. 3. It is a senior residential home that many snow birds use for months out of the year when they come to Honolulu. 4. I don't recall if they would ask you for a deposit or "registration fee".
  20. Gray whales migrate along the coastline. Humpbacks are on a different migratory path. No Orcas until you are closer to Seattle. Maybe a Blue Whale. Might see their cousins, the purpoises.
  21. You will see a lot of ocean on your trip up the coast to Canada. The captain will take the ship out to international waters to avoid the whales and open the casino. If you get up early enough, you will be able to see the ship travel through the San Juan Islands (both sides), Stanley Park, The Lions Gate Bridge, and dock at zero dark thirty.
  22. I am so sorry that your world cruise is being cut short by this most unfortunate medical event. I hope your husband is on the mend. I agree that you being disembarked in Honolulu was a good call. May I offer you a few options as he recovers. 1. If he needs to transfer to a rehab hospital. Rehab Hospital of the Pacific is excellent. Food is good. Equipment and physical therapy is excellent. Usually, this is just a intermediant location (less than 7 days). 2. Medicare will pick up most of the charges. 3. If he needs to transfer again to another location until he fully recovers enough to travel, Maunalani Nursing and Rehabilitation is the **** star "resort" of rehabs. It will not have a place for you to stay, can be far away for visits, but the view is outstanding. The physical therapy is on campus and excellent care is given. You will be able to have meals with him for a minimal charge. https://maunalaninursing.org 4. The staff at Rehab of the Pacific will work with you to set up a place to continue his recovery. Malama Pono as you begin this next journey.
  23. I did a search on Princess' site (I should know better). Since this thread was buried on page 3, I felt safe to resurrect @antsp Thanks. https://www.princess.com/learn/faq/onboard/keeping-in-touch/ Guests can choose to bundle unlimited Wi-Fi (along with other perks) with their cruise with Princess Plus fares. MedallionNet Wi-Fi is also available for purchase in the MedallionClass® app starting at $9.99 USD pre-cruise for a single-device. Platinum and Elite Captain’s Circle members receive a 50% discount on their MedallionNet purchase. https://cruiseradio.net/princess-cruises-hikes-daily-gratuities-wifi/ Also effective for voyages sailing February 20, 2023 and beyond, Princess Cruises’ MedallionNet wifi will cost $15 per day for a single-device plan, and $40 per day for a four-device plan. Currently, the single-device plan costs $10. Does this mean that I can still purchase wifi and gratuities if I pre-pay before February 20 even if my cruise is after 2/20? As always, Princess seems to present conflicting questions. And has anyone been able to purchase on day one. Do you pay net price or are you "rewarded" with OBC?
  24. Yes, you may exchange all the liquor for 10 beer (uses Dos Equis). You will also have to exchange 2 of the non-alcoholic cans/bottles for the extra Sprite.
