  1. I can only relay my discussion with the Food and Beverage Officer during a suite private event. This was confirmed by (2 different) concierges on the Caribbean Princess. I am waiting to hear from someone on Cruise Critic that actually has placed a MDR order via a phone call to Room Service. Isn’t it odd that no one has ever chimed in?
  2. I did not test this out, but the officer was pretty clear to me that I would be charged regardless of which plan I had. I had Plus. Someday, I may challenge Princess on this policy. I don’t sail on Royal class ships nor did I ask a concierge on a Grand class ship to advocate for me. So far, no need to. On the other hand, when I was in isolation, I was not charged $5 for MDR delivery.
  3. I have sometimes been the last one off the ship. Keep in mind that you will have to vacate your stateroom by 8 am. Princess will assign disembarkation locations depending on your time. The all clear (get off the ship) is generally sounded by 9:30 ish. Breakfast/buffet is usually cleared out by 8:30 ish. I have seen passengers walking off the ship with full cases later in the morning. It does hold up others.
  4. IF (I don't know) the Enchanted is leaving from FLL, you might be lucky to receive an invitation to that special lounge pre-boarding. I heard that you could reserve the sanctuary from this onsite lounge. Your morning coffee at Sabatinis/Crown Grill is complimentary. You may have as many cups as you desire: Americano, Latte, Cappuccino. One of the perks for suites is the ability to order MDR dining for your stateroom. BUT, this is where Princess really drops the ball. You need to pick up the phone and CALL ROOM SERVICE to place this order. Doesn't matter if you have PLUS or PREMIER, because you placed the order by phone, you will incur a $5 delivery charge. IF you order your meal to be delivered all at once, it's $5. If you want courses, it will be $5 for every time they bring in the dishes. Source: Food and Beverage Assistant Officer confirmed by his boss F & B Senior Officer.
  5. These are my prices for a 16 day cruise with PLUS (take number and divide by 16 to get daily rate). I am also in a suite so the crew appreciation is slightly more. I've redacted Passenger 2 to clean up the image. Add: Ocean Now one time delivery for $14.99 IF you don't have the package. $10 for Medallion shipping (free with PLUS). AND 2 casual dinner options for, I think, around $15 ($14.99). Sorry if you have to click on the PDF...don't know how to add just image. Of course, these are "OVER" inflated costs. Others have said that if you are considering: Crew Appreciation + wifi, then the Plus is worth it since you will only have to "use up" a minimal amount of drinks (coffee/soda/water/alcoholic beverage. I may purchase PLUS on a short 7 day cruise (why not) but may not on a port intensive itinerary. Bottom line....just makes life easier to have PLUS or PREMIER. And this is coming from an Elite member who would get 50% off of wifi if I choose not to buy PLUS. Think how much I would be saving (aka Sheldon Cooper). Plus package copy.pdf
  6. SMH...thanks @Steelers36. Not making excuses (yes, I am). It was early this morning and I did not really look at the image details. Powers that can and should remove post #3 since I was totally out of it. This is truly mind boggling since I've never seen any of these offerings for any of my cruises. Congrats OP. I hope you find the $900 OBC.
  7. There needs to be a little bit more information. Did you book your cruise as a standard then added on Plus? Did you book your cruise to include Plus? I do not see anywhere on your image that Plus was offset by $900. $60 pp/pd x number of days on the voyage = $900 for a 15 day voyage. You are paying Princess $900. Princess is not giving you OBC for $900. Do you have a travel agent that can walk you through this?
  8. This is a well thought out emergency plan. Would trip interruption/travel insurance cover all of these added expenses? Would Princess Vacation Protection cover you considering you are now OFF the ship? I feel for the OP. When you are not feeling up to your game, your thoughts are muddied and struggling to stay on top of the emergency. I hope you are on the mend.
  9. It's been a while since I wasn't Elite. So for memory...a very long time ago...they DID stock the refrigerator with a few items (water/soda) with a note that there would be a cost if consumed. I just stuck them behind the television. I'm sure, by now, this doesn't happen anymore since it would be additional work for your steward and more passengers are taking up Plus or Premier.
  10. You still have free access to some thermal spa areas. Hot stone bed, rain showers, and saunas, if they are there. Not many offerings.
  11. Sabatini’s can serve a table of 6, but like others have suggested, book 4 and visit the restaurant onboard to change it to 6.
  12. You will get charged for that. There's enough calories in Balleys so i order it with skim/2% milk.
  13. With Plus, you can pick up a bottle of water every time you pass by a bar and stash them in your cabin. You can even order them in the MDR/buffet when you have your meals. You will chew through the difference between with/without Plus in no time at all just by ordering coffees and waters (small bottles). You can bring your special hot chocolate packets and ask the barista to use it instead of the ones behind the counter. Then you can get your foamed milk? Bring a refillable wide mouth bottle for your lemonade. It is now also available in the MDR. For free
  14. I am sure you explain that your "condition" (without having to explain) prevents you from enjoying those wonderful desserts but could have the gelato, you may be accommodated (or speak to the Assistant Maitre d' up on the Lido Deck. One flavored ice cream is served in the MDR at lunch time (rotational) and gelato is served in the evening. Sometimes, you will find gelato in the buffet late in the afternoon. As far as the Premier Beverage package goes (+$20 x 2) will you take advantage of the reserve seating (not always in prime location), gym classes, photos, specialty dinners, endless pop up places, etc? or would you be better off paying the few extra dollars so that you husband can enjoy the premium drinks? BTW, it is unlimited non-alcoholic drinks AND 15 alcoholic drinks max with any of the packages. I didn't learn that until after a couple of voyages; not that I ever reached my limit since I am a non-drinker. Welcome to Cruise Critic.
  15. The Grand will not have midship/center stair cases up to Caribe deck. It's either an elevator ride or use the forward staircases.
  16. I booked an excursion using shareholder credits. I had to jump through hops to get my stocks registered (another long story) so that I could book my Princess excursions months out. I was happy that Princess processed my OBC outside of the 90 days. Not sure if I will have to "verify" that I still have the stocks. My excursion went from $254.95 (paid) to $334.95. I have always noticed that the rates will increase closer to sail date. But have never seen a 30% (or more) jump. It "used to be" 10% to 15%. I'm glad I booked mine early. Always good to book ahead. Let Princess "borrow" my money rather than risk the high increases. You can always cancel. I know, another can of worms.
  17. It's been a long time since I've not had a Plus package and had to request hot chocolate at the buffet. I don't frequent the buffet often so really don't know if there are now packets of Hot Chocolate. Thank you for the updated information.
  18. I've ordered as recently as October 2023 (Caribbean Princess) AND I am over 18 years of age.
  19. Sometimes, you do not have a choice of airports. It all depends which airline you are flying and destination. I don’t have a lot experience with New York, but did fly to Honolulu. Only option was JFK. It is a huge airport ! I stayed overnight at the Hilton since I was flying west (only direct flights are early morning). Stones throw from the airport, but it took about 20 minutes due to traffic.
  20. I agree with arriving a day earlier (good example of time change), but that just complicates transportation services unless you stay near the airport. Then you can use Princess transfers. Boarding/disembarking in New York (and Galveston) is difficult with the airports "so" far away with traffic.
  21. You can get chocolate milk (chocolate syrup + milk) for free in any MDR. I've even ordered hot chocolate in the morning. I have tried to get hot chocolate in the buffet. Because it comes from a bar, there is a charge. Haven't tried to get chocolate milk anywhere else except from the MDR.
  22. Thanks for posting the images. As far as I can see, the offerings are the same as before. It is now just window dressing. I did not see anything that promoted additional perks than what was previously offered with "Club Class"/"Reserve mini". Another name change to Reserve Collection Junior Suite....SUITE should not be included in the description. There absolutely no SUITE perks except for the MDR. Why does Princess continue to do this? I have to be schooled by my sister who is an HAL officiate....Their Vista Suite is not a suite either.
  23. I have no invested interest in the Sun's cancellation, but I do have some questions for those that were affected. When Princess cancelled my cruise on Grand and moved me over to the Regal then the Sky, I was not happy with the ship's "upgrade". So I cancelled the cruise. I was guaranteed the same fare even though the "newer" cabins were more expensive. From what I have gathered over the 89 pages is that a compensation was offered. Full refund and either 50% FCC or $1000. For many this is not going to be enough to cover the expenses due to the cancellation. In my opinion, and just mine alone, why didn't Princess offer a move over deal guaranteeing the same category plus FCC for the inconvenience? If the same passenger were to rebook the Sun Princess at a later date, I am almost positive the fare would increase. Maybe not as high as 50% (FCC coverage). But air fare would also be higher and other related costs.
  24. You will need to book: mini suite, Reserved Class mini, or a full suite to get a sofa on the Crown (a GEM class ship).
