  1. Previously, the lowest full suite was an S7. Is an S9 a full suite? A signature suite (aka reserve mini)? Just curious. Not intending to book a cruise on the Sun.
  2. Iceland webpage says that they don't have mosquitos...but have no-see-ums. https://english.hi.is/news/learning_more_about_no_see_ums_and_fruit_flies
  3. Crew elevators are usually "behind" the midship elevators. Sometimes they are hidden behind enclosed areas. For instance: Public areas (decks 5, 6, 7): you will find them forward of public elevators. Crew use them to move art work, dishes, etc. A few new passengers will try to access them. You need a crew card. Cabin decks: you will find them behind double doors forward of midship elevators. I was "escorted" to isolation cabins using crew elevators and passage ways. If you are concerned about crew elevators, book a cabin aft of the midship elevators. Large white area...I recall but can't remember which deck...room service is located. Those near that area will get their orders faster. I believe there were 2 room service locations, but the memories are old. Which is better? Inside cabin across the hall or mystery white space? That's a toss up. I've had noisy neighbors across the hall...

    Refund

    You have an exceptional PVP.
  5. As of last summer 2023, Princess' policy was 5 days from (estimated) onset of symptoms. I didn't report to Medical for a few days since I thought it was just a bad asthma attack. I was in isolation (moved to a different cabin/cabin mate test negative). I was reimbursed for 2 nights (only spent 36 hours) plus for medical records ($28)
  6. Rarely, if ever, will there be crew access doors midship. I would be more concerned about steward closets. They normally are very quiet, but I have been in a cabin (not suite) next to said closet and I could hear them through the walls.
  7. I would cancel your current bid. According to bidding rules, once accepted, it is AUTOMATICALLY charged to your credit card. I wouldn't want to deal with trying to undo this. I am not sure suite to suite bid. But you could try to resubmit a new bid.
  8. Is this really a “sale” or push back due to the amount of feedback from disgruntled passengers?
  9. Funny story. I was once on a Carnival ship with a request for a Queen (two twins put together). One night, one of us ended up on the floor. The bed had split in half. Someone didn't secure the two beds. That was before mattress toppers. I don't think this happens anymore. One more thing to consider. Twin beds have the fluffiest most comfortable duvets. Queens have a thin/flat blanket.
  10. I don’t know how much the soda or other drink package cost . That’s why I suggested comparing. I have heard the packages other than Plus and Premier were not worth it.
  11. Do compare the soda package + crew appreciation to the Plus which includes all drinks + crew appreciation + one device Medallion net (that you could use).
  12. Pros: Weather can be iffy any time. Days are shorter...but you might...might get a glimpse of the Northern Lights. We had 2 chances at 2 AM Close out sales galore Less crowds
  13. You cruise too often. We were on the fall Canadian Cruise with your "both" your kids. Give my love to them. They were so kind to us.
  14. Love your long winded style. Glad I had an opportunity to sail with you. Thank you.
  15. Cancel your July 2024 commitment ... lol... sorry.
  16. I just looked up Majestic July 2025. I see 3 Iceland ports, but NO Greenland stops. That would be a no go for me. July 2024 stops in both places. Itinerary is on sale...really great fare. Join me on the CB.
  17. Sounds like a great cruise. I have to fly to UK for a round trip (ugh). But do get 3 ports in Iceland and 2 ports in Greenland. From researching YouTube and other sites, the weather may be cold and wet. AND there are lots of bugs in the summer. Greenland ports will be over-run by ship passengers (out numbered). Excursions are very expensive...buy early. Not much to do otherwise in Greenland except to walk the town or take a excursion out of town. I'm dreading the tendering process. The Majestic is too big to port.
  18. One of those coming in late to the game. Buddy has a booking number Buddy can see his cruise on Princess.com Buddy says he owes nothing (and final payment made) Buddy has booked and confirmed EZ Air (has it been ticketed?) Buddy has hotel reservations pre/post cruise (has this been confirmed with hotels?) BUT...Buddy is still being charged extras Buddy has two more cruises "booked" but not seen on Princess.com This is definitely a new issue. Never heard of anything like this.
  19. i just happen to know of a fellow passenger that has an Engineering degree and a PhD in Math. Dr. Math has no problem analyzing the data…or could it be the engineering mind? It really isn’t rocket science. Even this lowly math teacher can figure out Plus and Premier. But I will acknowledge that Princess makes it more confusing than needs be, especially for those not familiar with Princess. Thank goodness for helpful CC members.
  20. The transition happened last summer (2023). I only found out about it because I pursued the "rumor" (don't know if it was on CC). I questioned Loyalty and Events Coordinators on the Diamond and the Grand. They confirmed that the position would be separated sometime during the summer (like Princess, no announcement). Loyalty position would be turned over to ONE (Future Cruise Department). They would be in charge of Captain Circle concerns, Most Traveled Passenger luncheon, and anything else that involved "Loyalty" levels. A new position would be created for the Loyalty and Events coordinator. It would be an junior officer position and would handle weddings, Meet and Greets, etc. IN ADDITION, this person would also be the concierge (concierge services) for suite passengers. Of course....Princess would not announce this because it would benefit suite passengers without having any revenue. (aka sheldon cooper). When I boarded the Caribbean Princess, I was fortunate to have the Loyalty and Events Coordinator from the Grand onboard. We had already established a working relationship pre change over. Silviya confirmed the transition. We had several nice conversations. She asked me if there was anything that I would really like done. I joked about a few things and she said she would "look into my requests". I had to tell her I was only pulling her leg. She is the one that gave me her personal extension. I did contact her directly a couple of times. I am not suggesting that all Guest Services Managers (current title) will operate the same way as did Silviya and Malory. I can only share my experiences with these two "concierges".
  21. Here is where I partially agree with you. I have worked with Silviya (2xs) and Malory. Both have provided me with concierge SERVICES. They are Princess (junior) officers. Their official title is Events & Guests Services Supervisor and wear white uniforms. They are not Princess crew as are the concierges in the lounges. BTW....on Grand/GEM class ships, they have invited suite passengers to a private Meet and Greet the officers cocktail party. They told me it was a small compensation for not having a lounge. It was a friendly gathering where the officers mingled with the passengers and you could actually have a sit down conversations with them.
  22. OP will have access to the Concierge's Lounge while on the Enchanted. All Royal Class ships have them (Enchanted, Sky, Royal, Majestic, Regal, Discovery). The Grand/GEM Class ships (Grand, Diamond, Sapphire, Crown, Ruby, Emerald, Caribbean) DO NOT have a Concierge's Lounge, but do have access to a Concierge who will assist you if you can not get something resolved from the Customer Service Counter. S/he is available behind the scenes. No office, but if you ask to speak to Concierge, they will get back to you. Too be more specific: When I was in isolation, she tracked me down and asked if I needed anything. I did not inform her of my situation. After isolation, Silviya stopped by during breakfast in Sabatini's to see how I was doing. We worked together on another cruise before the split. So when I met her again, she gave me her direct extension. I am only speaking from personal experience to those that may not be on a Royal Class ship. I hope others will also benefit in knowing that they will have access to a Concierge (not readily advertised) when cruising on a Grand/GEM class ship.
  23. They are not part of ONE (Future Cruise). She is a Princess Officer that coordinates events AND services suite passengers. You may reach her (because I’ve never had a “he”) through customer service counter. I can verify position since I have worked closely with all three. Last summer, Princess separated the Loyalty and Events position. Loyalty went to ONE. Events became a new officer position. She wore a Princess white uniform.
  24. Yes, the Grand and Caribbean had concierges. They are the former loyalty and events managers (now called events officers). I have worked with 3 so far.
