  1. I did not mention who owns the cat. I was just referring to the photo.
  2. The OCD (or is it the perfectionist) in me that screams your need to fix Oscar's orientation. That would drive me crazy.
  3. I don't eat Strawberries (just the chocolate), but my nearly minted cabin mates "seem" to be impressed. And like you, they magically appear as a separate order several times during the voyage.
  4. Between the "champagne" and canapés, it is a toss up to which is worse. I decline both. It was nice when you could substitute chocolate covered strawberries or profiteroles.
  5. What was I thinking! Whittier was THE in-transit stop. We had to walk off the ship and walk right back on. Then we explored the small town. Loved walking the shops. Met some very interesting folks. Talked to a Maui transplant for the summer working at an ice cream store. My experience was pre-Medallion days.
  6. The Grand Princess will have 2 - 3 production show during the 7 day run. They will be repeated. Princess "generally" hires the same entertainers for the season. They will board in one city and get off on the next or when it is convenient (some are local, most are flown in or alternate ships in the region). You can expect to see them repeated. The port talks/naturalists will probably be the same since they are hired for the season. I would be surprised if you don't have to get off the ship in Vancouver.
  7. If....Is it booked as Vancouver to Whittier/Whittier to Vancouver? Or as ONE voyage with different stops week 2? My best guess is that it is a 7 day cruise back to back. IF such....then the entertainment will be the same. Weather is not defined. It could have a heat wave or a cold front. Best to check a couple of weeks before your cruise for 10 day forecast.
  8. My thoughts/concerns/questions are the same. What would prevent me (not that I would ever do this/or book this ship) from having all of my friends and/or family from enjoying the secluded cabana area.
  9. Mis-named (as in most things). The Grand Class/GEM ships (except the Grand) have access to Thermal Suites (hot stone beds and saunas). The Regal Class ships have a small print disclaimer (not available). They do have the "Enclave" I believe? Not complimentary to Suite Passengers.
  10. Princess has a really strange place to select Standard or Plus/Premier. It is when you first enter the search window...yes, when you are setting your filters.
  11. The casino will be closed on the overnight stay in Quebec. It will not open until you are out of the St. Lawrence River and then some (an hour or more).
  12. Just curious…is approval in time to make adjustments to air fare? Could be cost prohibitive if approved while on your cruise.
  13. @runner2013 Thank you so much for returning to your thread frequently. I am intrigued by this subject. I am hoping for the best possible outcome. I forgot...has "friend" ever cruised before?
  14. There are very few flights from Quebec City to Montreal. Either early morning or mid/late afternoon. Agree with customs and immigrations if getitng off early.
  15. I am not familiar with Medicare Advantage plans. Medicare denied my claims but my secondary picked up everything except the medical history charge. AON picked that up.
  16. If you purchase this for the cruise, make sure she has a few lapse for practice. When I had my knees replaced (at the same time), I had to pass muster with my PT. Doubt Medicare will pick up the cost unless prescribed by a doctor. Even then, may only spring for a standard walker (I tried).
  17. I DID see a doctor. Actually one of the best doctors I’ve run across outside of my network. Not that it matters, but he was from Malaysia with quite a sense of humor. As usual, the nurse did all the pre-visit protocols. He even made a house (cabin) call to check on a medication I had brought with me on the trip but didn’t take it with me to the med center.
  18. Air Canada cancelled my flights on EZ Air. Princess EZ Air worked with me to accommodate my travels. To be honest, I had to do a lot of working with them to get back. Unfortunately, they could not get me home on a good schedule, but I did get home without any additional monies. Even the flight I booked directly with Jet Blue was changed 3 times. Each change pushed the flight back a couple of hours. I wanted to arrive by 6 PM. Arrived a little after 8 PM. The difference is that I purchased Jet Blue in November for a cruise in July. I had to pay Jet Blue immediately upon booking.
  19. This was my very first ever visit to the Medical Center (have cruised many times). I was very surprised at the visit cost of $49. The meds cost more.
  20. You may make appointments (very limited hour). Each office visit will cost you $49 ( and supplies?) billed to your folio. Be sure to request a medical history record. Cost is $28. Medicare will probably deny payment. I don’t know if cruise insurance will cover this expense. Be sure to ask your doctor for a written note explaining the need for services. I am not sure if this will fall under pre-condition. Might be helpful to know itinerary. Visits to urgent care on land?
  21. I have been fortunate not to be given an unwanted upgrade. ONLY once I dd I receive an upsell to a suite (this in itself was the start of other issues/lol). I could never understand....If Princess gives you and unwanted upgrade AND you couldn't get your original cabin back...why.... Princess couldn't give the returned upgrade to the person who stole your cabin. Wouldn't they be just as thrilled to be upgraded for free? That would make too much sense.
  22. I am a "get there/board early" passenger. Unfortunately, you will not be in the Green Lane since Princess does not ship medallions to New Zealand. The blue lane will need to pickup the medallions at the port upon check in. Some have said this is a painless process. What does does it say embarkation starts? I am usually at San Pedro (LA) by 10 - 10:30 and onboard by 11:30. Do you have any loyalty level perks for priority boarding? It is nice to board early and have a leisurely lunch in the MDR (on Deck 6 from noon to 1:30).
  23. I have watched a lot of YouTube videos on T3. Start there. There are places to eat before security in T3. Do you realize that the Aerotel has windowless rooms? A very basic in-transit hotel. Check out Hilton Garden Inn Terminal 2. It is about a 15 minute walk to T3 through connecting tunnels and walkways. The shuttle should drop you off at T3 (or T2) and LHR has free luggage carts for your convenience.
  24. Come on folks...VOTE...it's your right and duty. One grain of sand x thousands could make a bump in the system. Now to get rid of the Electoral College. I received my notice from my stock broker.
  25. Playing Devil's Advocate: Or it's Princess' way of making sure their are NOT a lot of kids sailing. I know it has stopped my daughter from cruising with her young family. And I do agree, if a toddler/infant was a "free" passenger 2, then passenger one would lose out on the dreaded solo supplement. But it is a give and take and Princess "should" allow the adult in this situation, to purchase Plus or Premier. I would like to give credit to Princess for being a critical thinker, but that's really not their norm.
