  1. You have more patience than 100 passengers. I sure hope this is the last of the last. Time to get yourself a good travel agent (although not sure TA could have applied the promotion). I mentioned elsewhere that the “holds” are used to text the higher uppers. Really inefficient chain of command and use of personnel. At least you will have a fantastic voyage in your owners suite. Lots of promotions do not apply to suites.
  2. Time to update your thread. Guess you aren't going to sail on 2/18. Your heart was in the right place.
  3. Imagine getting off the plane to find out that your ship isn't going to sail.
  4. Don's Vacation mentioned his concerns today. The shipyard still had not turned the ship over to Princess as of today. It was 1.5 sailing days from shipyard to Rome. Even though all staff were board, he didn't think they had access for show rehearsals or any other prep work. Not good for Princess. They are burning the candle at both ends and is losing the battle. I'm sure these "new" inaugural passengers are even more upset than the last cancelled group.
  5. As long as there is no meat in the sandwich. P & B is okay. Boxed cereal. No fruit.
  6. It took 4 years to get the old app up and functioning adequately (never100%). Sorry, no confidence that this new app will ever be glitch free.
  7. It is similar to the future Cruise Deposit (FCD) without buying an FCD on your past cruise for $100 (cost to purchase). Key…”up to…..$125” will probably be limited to either length of cruise or stateroom category. Shareholders have length of cruise. Longer voyage/more OBC. FCDs will get you $125 if booked in a suite, I think. Another marketing ploy to get you to book within 60 days and get your monies. I prefer to just buy FCDs and have them available when “I” choose to book.
  8. 1. Use your credit card for both (ship/shore), order your medallion, remove card for shore. You will still be green but steps 6/7 steps completed. 2. Use your primary card for ship. I then found a rebate debit card with a few dollars left on it and used those numbers (Visa) for shoreline. It worked. 3. Yes...it is stupid to have it as a default and you can't decline. Good luck in ordering your medallion and getting free shipping. That's a whole other can of worms.
  9. I have been told by my Travel Agent, that "questions" are texted/emailed to somebody in the know. That's why agents ask you to hold. Seems rather inefficient. It's really sad when the passenger knows more than the call center. I really don't know how to respond when I am thanked for my Elite loyalty...haha.
  10. Those specials that were (not sure still) booked on board at 50% were a great deal. I didn't bite since neither my ships nor suites were applicable. Great fare for heavy penalties. You had to be really sure and it only applied to passengers onboard. I would not have been able to book a companion that was not traveling with me at the time.
  11. I "think" this is the same principle that Verizon works on (International Plan). Probably the same for iphone to iphone, but I'm not testing out these theories.
  12. Regardless if you book with Princess directly/online, with a Princess agent, or a travel agent, as soon as you are issued a booking number, you will receive an booking reservation invoice. All financial information is printed here. It will include your deposit (refundable or not), Beverage Package choice, if applicable, final payment date, and other pertinent information.
  13. It looks like the Jade is a better fit for you (anytime dining). I was on the Coral from LA to Alaska (rt/Vancouver) and also through the canal. I am not a buffet person. I love sea days and MDR. Princess does a fantastic job with Panama Canal. Guest speakers are phenomenal. "On the Bayou" production show is one of a kind. Granted, IC is very very small. No extra dining. The did offer a pop up Alfredo's in Sabatinis (not sure this is still happening). Plus all the other mentions for the Coral advantages. But you have to love smaller ships. I am not a fan of NCL (one and done). I have not been on the Jade.
  14. If this is all that you have, I don't see anything that says your deposit is refundable. Under the fare quote on your invoice/booking, you should see, in very small print: THE DEPOSIT FOR THE FARE YOU HAVE SELECTED IS 100% REFUNDABLE AND TRANSFERRABLE.
  15. @Steelers36 As always, you are my editor. Wrong thread, NEW app. Couldn't do it on my old app. Although, as far as I know, old app is still functioning. ONLY not for me. Haven't been able to do anything on old app. But it's still on my phone and unwilling to delete it yet.
  16. On the Caribbean Princess, I was able to pick up cans of coke under the plus package from any bar.
  17. Good point about international rates. Do some research. I know I can call OUT from US to another country. Not sure if it works in any other combination. I never placed money in my account but I have mysteriously had 10 cents credit since the start. Don't bother: Can you get a UK Google Voice number? It is a USA-only service. You cannot get a non-US Google Voice number.
  18. One rate taxi fares are only good Airport to City. You can take a taxi back to the airport for standard rates/min. Or you can hop on the train. Leave your bags at Canada place. I hear it wasn't too expensive. Enjoy the Gaslamp district or Stanley Park. Does Princess offer a city tour that will drop you off at the airport?
  19. Looks like the Coral will have a lot more sea days (you either are happy or sad). I doubt the Jade is a Panamax ship and therefore would choose the historic locks over the new locks (boring). Yes, it is slightly early for Alaska. Do take into consideration that flying home from Whittier (aka Anchorage) will be inconvenient and could be expensive.
  20. I guess I didn't win the free shipping jackpot when I tried. Looked everywhere. My friend even sent me a screen shot to "prove" that it was there. Not for me. Doesn't matter. Mystery solved, but did take more time out of my life than I prefer to give to Princess call center.
  21. Maybe true, but there is no where for all to sit. So they end up at the railings, along the stairs, crowding customer service counter, etc. I, for one, would love to see them back in the Explorer's Lounge on the Grand Class ships...oh, I forgot, it's for the Art Auctions.
  22. You are not going to like my reply. I did the same thing. Ordered my Medallion and when I was ready to check out, it showed that I would owe $10 even though I had Plus. Tried to remove order. Finally had to call Princess (yes, the dreaded phone call). First agent removed the order for me, but he couldn't create a new order without the $10 fee. So had to also cancel the one he tried. Next call (always try a different agent), agent tried to place order. Same result. So he had to cancel this THIRD order. I was extremely frustrated at this time and requested over and over again to speak to a supervisor. He was very patient with me and assured me that he would find a work around. I must admit that the second agent was very good. He did find a way to place my order by going through my cruise mate's account. BINGO...free medallion ship. Now...I have another friend on an android who previously (like within a few weeks prior) had the same issue....charge... but was able to cancel the first order with the click of a button. DUH? HUH? I didn't have a cancellation option button.
  23. I've done that from my watch in the theater and Piazza. Over 100 Decibels. Taken the results to Customer Service and they recorded my complaint in the log. Doesn't make a bit of difference. No changes.
  24. Does this mean you will be planning this cruise for 2025? Why not cruise 2024 when all kids will be 9, 11, and 12? Wouldn’t that place them in the same club age? I did not take into account that Princess “could” possibly regroup ages depending on how many kids are in the ship (surprise factor). Good advice to check in on the first day. Regardless, you/they will have a wonderful time on the ship.
  25. I have Google Voice. You will have to purchase Medallion Net and have it connected/signed on at all times to receive texts and calls. It does go through your phone. It will work the same as you do at home: airplane mode and cell phone/wifi calling turned on. Princess does not block VOIP service by Google Voice. It worked for me last fall when calling internationally to US.
