  1. This is a most important disclaimer: EZ Air is a third party travel agent. Cancelled/delayed flights are NOT EZ Air's fault. It is the fault of the carrier. The one complaint about EZ Air is that they have only purchased x number of seats for x number of flights and have to work with that inventory. If the price goes up/you are locked in at your fare. If the price goes down (and outside of 45 days) you can refare. If the flight is cancelled and the new flights are more expensive, EZ Air eats the increase. If you are stuck....EZ Air will get you there (not necessarily the most direct route). You can cancel, even if paid, outside of 45 days. The key is to be proactive and check, check, check.
  2. You can ask for early ticketing anytime after final payment. But why would you do that? Once ticketed, it becomes a restricted fare with no option to change (*there have been rare occasions). The benefit of EZ Air is the flexibility up until 45 days. If I request to get ticketed, it's when I am pretty sure I am at rock bottom prices.
  3. Does anyone else see this as a logistical/accounting nightmare? Will there be a program that automatically omits the $5 charge for Elite and/or Suite perks? Or will everyone have to ask Customer Service to remove each service charge? I know they used to do that with Elite/Suite laundry. On my last cruise, it just didn't get entered (manually and/or automatically).
  4. And after the last Pandemic holds (Grand/Diamond/Coral/etc), Princess added on their website to bring an extra week of medications. As mentioned above, countries have their own specific rules. I didn't have any trouble going into Japan and they are very strict.
  5. Why the huge gap in dates?
  6. @Jadn13 per recommendation…I have a few questions. My October cruise shortened AND changed our port hours. We will be in Halifax from 7 AM to 3 PM. I was looking at the tour you suggested. 6 hours, starting at 9:30. Not going to work. I will contact them by email tomorrow. But will anything be open that early? How much time did you have after getting back to the ship? I would guess all aboard would be 2:30. This is a little risky, at best. Thanks.
  7. @Steelers36 you missed the aka Sheldon Cooper post script. I apologize for putting you on the defense. At this point, I will "check back" just before my next cruise. For sure, there will be many alterations to these policies. In a month, I expect a 2.6.18 revision. (aka Sheldon Cooper)
  8. Sigh... Someone on my Roll Call suggested checking airfare directly with airlines. So I did. Found a fare $20 less than what I had paid for on EZ Air (Now between final payment and 45 days). Called EZ Air. Surprise, they are closed and it went to an after hours call center in Australia. She could not do anything with my account/booking number and was very cautious to say anything since policies may differ. I asked her if I could do it online (had it pulled up) and hit the cancel button. She said it "should" be okay. So I did. Keeping what @pompeii had gone through in the back of my mind, I checked, double checked, and checked once more just in case. Same flight numbers (actually somewhere down the line this was changed). Same times. Same dates. Same eCredit, AND I could pick my seats. Even with the troubles I had coming home from Quebec, I still have (present tense) faith with EZ Air. But given the chance to save some money and work directly with the airlines...that was a no brainer. The flexibility of EZ Air is great. From the day I requested EZ Air until tonight, I saved over $60. BTW, my flexible fare on EZ Air is not available now. Restricted fare is .. and less. But I would never do a restricted airfare.
  9. You are not alone. If...you go by what Princess has described, you will have to pay. It is being rolled out soon. Hopefully we will get some feedback from those cruising next week. I would love to be a fly on the wall in the Royal Class ships' concierge lounge.
  10. Currently, Maitre d' is Neville Saldana. He came on board a couple of weeks ago. He said he would be onboard for about two months (leaving by the end of September). Which port are you looking for EZ Luggage? I am hoping that FLL will have this service.
  11. It is the absurdity of Princess's "new" plan. Once again, they do not think things through before making blanket changes. There you go again, spreading rumors (aka Sheldon Cooper). I just heard a YouTuber saying something about free Medallion shipping no longer is on the "list" of beverage perks. Free? https://www.princess.com/cruise-deals-promotions/plus-premier-cruise-packages/ I don't know about anyone else, but I am having trouble keeping up with the changes. Today is one way, tomorrow is another. Not to mention 2 months away.
  12. I think it all depends on the port. Have and have nots (medallion in hand). Los Angeles: check in, security, elite/suite lounge. FLL: security, check in, elite/suite lounge. Post/post/post changes: Who knows? I believe the holder of the keys is the one who has/has not a medallion will be sorted out. Don't know when that will happen. My take: One long line until your are divided into privileged and not privileged. This must be a nightmare for the agents (who are NOT Princess employees). They are the front line and have to deal with the disgruntled.
  13. That's because Princess is keeping the Grand away from the West Coast. If she were homeported in SF or LA, you'd be booking her frequently.
  14. Too much time on my hands (or procrastination), but just ran across this youtube video. I like Don and he does a scathing review of Princess' changes. Worth the rant.
  15. Sorry, after thought without reading the first three pages. How much did you pay for the package? Is it worth while to cancel and then re-purchase?
  16. You've got to stop disillusioning me. I don't like pineapple and/or coconut either. I agree with you, island sunsets are beautiful.
  17. Are you working with a TA? Sometimes they are able to reach someone in Accounts/Revenue. Left the ship on Friday. Today is Wednesday. I received my survey, but not an "updated" folio. I do have printed copies and a screen shot.
  18. And here we differ....I don't need the sprinkles, but almonds are a must. But chocolate and peanut butter alone are wonderful, they do not belong together. Volcano may be gone from Kids' menu, but it's on the adult menu as make your own sundae.
  19. There's a lot to do there, but very expansive. Since it is a tender port, it will take time to get everyone off and on. It is not a Princess stop so they won't have the infrastructure to pull up excursions at the drop of a hat. Those who are adventurous: Coffee plantations. vanilla farms, macadamia nut farms. South point (furthest point south in the UNITED STATES/you lose Texas/Florida). Probably not enough time to get there and back. Gold Coast of resorts (Waikoloa/Waimea) If the ship can arrange an excursion to the City of Refuge, it is well worth taking. https://www.nps.gov/puho/index.htm Don't know anything about this place: https://www.seasaltsofhawaii.com/pages/kona-salt-farm-tours Have fun. Hulihe'e Palace may be closed on your visit. https://daughtersofhawaii.org/hulihee-palace/
  20. One more thought (with, I'm sure, many more will follow). Suites and Elites have free laundry. I found it surprising that there was no debit/credit entries on my folio for the 4 times I sent out laundry. That was a welcome surprise. Such a redundant accounting.
  21. Bureaucracy at its finest. Chatted with Medicare to get help in filling out my claim form. Got it in the mail this afternoon. Now it is a wait and see game. Up to 60 days for Medicare to review claim (to be denied), passed on to my Secondary Insurance, wait for them to send me an Explanation of Benefits...then upload to AON. Maybe I will know something before my 2025 final payment is due. Why couldn't I submit this online (rhetorical question/I know the answer)? Not sure if I will get FCC or refund for 2 days in isolation. Anything at this point is gravy since Medical Center visit was deducted from Non-Refundable OBC.
  22. Rent your car now. That's the only way to get around Kona. There are three National Parks on that side of the island. Otherwise, it's a trip to a Big Box Store or sit at a bar.
  23. @Rick&Jeannie Not so old school by oldER poster. Thank goodness for the scan document on iPhone notes app. At least I could do that. Then I air dropped to a folder on my computer. I knew that I could take a photo of each, but it would have been much harder to work with (editing, resizing, and cropping). Were you able to open and download the PDF links? If so, then this was a success.
