  1. I saw giant bags of it on Horizon, so I don't know anymore
  2. I am taking their tip off next time since I can't air condition my balcony
  3. Was in sales my whole life and that's fair. They should commission any add-on's your PVP can hustle up, but order taking is not sales. I wouldn't commission, least not full commission a pre-done order by the customer. That's like commissioning the order taking person at the drive thru, just for taking the order. ANYONE can just take orders. A salesperson SELLS.
  4. Call and ask for a casino host, explain your points and so on and see what they say. If anything, might put you on their radar. On Celebration a few weeks ago they left a Casino Offer flyer in our cabin on the final night, and it was insulting. I get better offers online.
  5. That was the lesson I learned, the lack of stress if late. I knew it, was well aware of it and never had an issue, but my instance (above) I learned that it's the big city tours that can get you in trouble and if booking independent, always get tours far shorter than the in-port time, just in case.
  6. Finally got my whole itinerary done.... Fly to Perth, Australia from Orlando through Dubai. Two stops total. 14 hrs to Dubai, 10 hours to Perth. I've done the flight to Dubai before, you basically just eat, sleep and watch tv, in a few hour increments. Week in Perth w BIL then fly to Brisbane for a day visit before cruise. Excursions booked: Best of Noumea - Through Carnival Suva Forest Park & Waterfall Tour - Through Carnival Unique Tahiti Full Day Tour - Papeete - Through Unique Tahiti and the full day Dole Pineapple tour and lunch in Honolulu - Through Carnival
  7. I think we gain a day when we cross the international date line.
  8. We can only hope for this... https://carnival-news.com/2012/10/10/carnival-spirit-marks-equator-crossing-with-traditional-ceremony/ Carnival Spirit Marks Equator Crossing with Traditional Ceremony October 10, 2012 In a scene that has been played out since men first ventured to sea aboard ships, Carnival Spirit’s guests and crew witnessed a traditional maritime ceremony during their 16-day trans-Pacific crossing to Australia. The time-honored ceremony involves converting “pollywogs” — crewmembers and junior officers who have not crossed the equator on a ship — into “shellbacks,” or seasoned sailors. The crossing was achieved at 9:46 p.m. on Oct. 4 and the ship’s horn blared to announce the event and called guests to the Lido Deck for the ceremony. Stuart Dunn, Carnival Spirit’s cruise director, playfully explained why the captain sounded the horn: “Normally you can see the line of the equator in the water, but it was the dark that night.” A band of would-be pirates from the Carnival Spirit crew dragged the hapless pollywogs through the crowd and into the presence of King Neptune, who presided over the ceremony. The crowd booed, cheered and demanded the pollywogs “kiss the fish,” a dead specimen of which was provided for that purpose. The pollywogs then were soaked with a puree of “galley-left-overs” bisque. The crowd roared, cameras flashed and the captain and his officers signaled the end of the ceremony with gales of laughter. King Neptune spoke: “As you sail my seas, all guests and crew of Carnival Spirit have now crossed the equator and are worthy of the title Trusty Shellback.”
  9. Odd seafaring traditions... HOW SAILORS CELEBRATE THE EQUATOR OR INTERNATIONAL DATE LINE CROSSING https://randomwordstorm.wordpress.com/2015/02/19/how-sailors-celebrate-the-equator-or-international-date-line-crossing/
  10. Amazed no one (RE: Kid) taken a dauber and poked it all over the ship as a gag
  11. In Chittiviittici...whatever....Italy, we were on a Rome tour that due to their terrible traffic made us late back to the ship. It was the cruise line's own tour, so the ship was there and they LITERALLY pulled the gangway up behind us. No pier running though, drove the bus right up to the gangway. We were off, in and closed ASAP. By the time we got to our cabin, we were away from the pier and underway.
  12. Where Carnival falls short is late night sweets. Can get pizza almost 24/7, but can't get a piece of cake or pie w/ice cream.
  13. ON pre-popped or nuke popcorn? I know what it tastes like....pre-popped
  14. Book both at the earliest possible times, then go after the latest time together. Solved
  15. Right, it's not even fresh or good popcorn. It's pre-popped bagged popcorn that's cold and kinda stale. DIY Nuke popcorn is better and I hate nuke popcorn
  16. Watching pier runners is one of my favorite things on a cruise I watch videos of them to prepare myself
  17. I believe a lot depends on the next day's itinerary. How far to the next stop?
  18. Maybe I'll tell her she has to wait for fun
  19. If I am plat and wife is not, do both of us (cabin) receive plat benefits, like laundry, or is it only that card holder?
  20. Go early, be patient. For some unknown reason, at about noon, the port tunnel was closed, I can only assume a crash because the marathon went nowhere near it and once I got to the port (via surface streets and bridge....aka "the old way") didn't see cars exiting in the port. So, in short, no idea how to help you because a variable got thrown in
  21. When it comes to the steak house, it is actually very good. The cuts are good quality and prep is very good. IMO, the service in the specialties has dropped, but I thought this before Covid. It used to be a much more formal service, complete with white cloth and crumb brushes/scrapers for the table. They're all very nice and the service provided today most likely exceeds your regular local place. For the dollar, it is worth it IMO
  22. It's a matter of perspective. I play (gamble) for fun with little expectation of winning. I hope I win, I pray I'll win to every God I can think of in order to win, but it's all in fun. So we look at it this way....how much is a 7 day balcony cabin for two? That's what I play (+/-). So it pays for the cruise and I get entertained with it. I don't mind, I didn't plan to win.
