  2. I checked the ones we got free from the feds, they're called "Flowflex" and also available at CVS. Those are RAT (Rapid Antigen Tests), so we're just going to bring our own tests and back up tests.

EMAIL I JUST GOT GUEST ADVISORY – REMINDER SAILING PROTOCOLS & REQUIREMENTS CARNIVAL LUMINOSA – 13 APRIL 2023 15 March 2023 Dear Carnival Luminosa Guest, We are looking forward to welcoming you aboard for your Carnival Journeys Transpacific cruise from Brisbane to Seattle. In preparation for this memorable voyage, we have a few reminders and updates. Admittedly, there is a lot to cover in this communication, but please read and follow these guidelines carefully to ensure a smooth start to your vacation. COVID-19 VACCINATION AND TESTING REQUIREMENTS You will be sailing on a 22-day vaccinated voyage which requires guests, aged 12 years and older, to be fully vaccinated. Additionally, we strongly recommend that guests get a booster, if eligible. All guests aged two years and above, regardless of vaccination status, are required to take a self-administered Rapid-Antigen Test (RAT) within 24 hours or a PCR test within 48 hours prior to boarding. Evidence of a negative result is required to cruise. If you receive a positive result, you will not be able to travel and can contact our customer service team at 13 31 94 (or 1-800-CARNIVAL if you are in the U.S.). Please note that a document of recovery is not applicable for this Transpacific cruise and ALL guests will be required to provide a negative test result. Vaccine exemptions are required for guests, aged 12 years and older, with medical conditions preventing vaccination. Conditionally approved guests will need to present evidence of a medical need at time of check-in. If you, or a member of your party, meet the criteria for a vaccine exemption, you may apply here. Guests who do not follow these required vaccination and testing guidelines will not be able to sail and will not be provided a refund. PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS All guests are required to carry a passport with validity of at least 6 months beyond the debarkation date for this cruise. To comply with immigration clearance requirements for some of the destinations on our itinerary, passports will be collected during embarkation and returned prior to arrival in Hawaii. VISA REQUIREMENTS Depending on your nationality, specific travel documentation may be required to enter the United States. Citizens of countries that participate in the Visa Waiver Program must possess an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) approval to travel. ESTA applications may be submitted any time prior to travel and must be completed for each qualifying member of the travelling party. Applications may be submitted here. Citizens from countries other than those who are eligible to travel under the Visa Waiver Program, must obtain a visa to enter the United States. Please visit the U.S. Department of State’s website here to determine your visa requirements for entry into the U.S. Alternatively, you may contact the nearest U.S. Embassy/Consulate or visit VisaCentral for more information. Guests must also check specific travel documentation requirements by contacting the appropriate embassy or consulate for New Caledonia, Fiji, and French Polynesia. While we will do our best to provide you with as much information as possible. Guests should always ensure that they are in compliance with all travel and documentation requirements for this cruise. Unfortunately, guests who do not have the required documentation will not be able to sail and no compensation will be provided.   MANDATORY TRAVEL INSURANCE To comply with destination requirements, all guests must present proof of medical travel insurance coverage for the duration of the voyage at time of check-in. The plan must include coverage for medical emergencies and carry no COVID-19 exclusions for cruise travel. Carnival’s Vacation Protection provides the required coverage for this voyage and eligible guests may purchase the plan up to 14 days prior to sailing (not counting embarkation day). ONBOARD PROTOCOLS We remain, as always, committed to the health and safety of our guests, crew, and the communities we serve. We will be sailing for 22 days, and it is our goal to minimize any possibility of COVID-19 transmission during the voyage, so everyone arrives in Seattle healthy and safe. However, masks will be required during the entire embarkation and debarkation process in the home port. Additionally, we recommend guests wear masks in public indoor spaces, outdoors when in large congregate events where physical distancing cannot be maintained and on water shuttles. In addition, we reserve the right to recommend more specific mask guidelines during the cruise if we determine it will protect the public health of all on board. To allow proper management of any potential spread of the virus on board, it may be necessary to conduct mandatory COVID-19 self-testing at various intervals during the cruise. If necessary, self-tests will be provided on a complimentary basis. Carnival Luminosa’s team will keep you informed during the voyage, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation. We will also be observing the following guidelines and protocols on board. Once we enter international waters, our smoking policy will align with our U.S. cruise guidelines. This will allow actively playing guests to smoke in designated areas of the casino. Smoking in undesignated areas, including staterooms and balconies, and discharging any item overboard, is prohibited and will result in a $500 charge, per violation. This applies to all forms of smoking, including cigarettes, cigars, pipes, vaporizers, electronic cigarettes, and marijuana. For the duration of the voyage, the minimum age to consume alcohol will be 21 years. All transactions will be conducted in U.S. dollars, so kindly plan accordingly. We encourage you to come prepared with U.S. currency (cash and/or credit) for your onboard incremental spending as our team will have a limited amount of U.S. dollars to facilitate currency exchange from Australian dollars (only). Recommended gratuities will be applied at a rate of US$16 (standard staterooms) and US$18 (suites), per guest, per day. These amounts are automatically added to your onboard Sail & Sign® account as a convenience (unless pre-paid). However, while on board, you are free to adjust gratuities at your discretion. No adjustments will be made after the cruise. Our shipboard team members work hard to provide exceptional and friendly service, so we hope you will agree that this is well-deserved.   5. A week ago? When was the last time Miracle was updated, more specifically, their casino? Maybe Miracle doesn't have that software yet?
  6. Where do you live? Are delays at your airport common? Tornado, snow, aliens? How long a flight? A hop or a long haul? If you're flying from ATL to MIA, in my opinion, yes, no worries. If you're flying from Greenbergtown, ND.....Nope, no way. If you can get up and get out early am and land in MIA (or any port) by about noon, without weather delay worries, go for it. Early morning flights are delayed far less than late day, why I always fly early morning. For something like this, direct only, no connections.

  9. Cafe Du didn't invent them, but they did get it down to a science. Not all of us have regular access to Cafe Du Monde, so those I had on Celebration were awesome to me

  11. Have them go to the kids meet up the first night, force them if you have to, then they'll meet people to hang with. I believe at their ages, they can check themselves out with your permission. My suggestion, give them freedom and let them know it's a test. Keep it together and out of trouble. (But still keep them on a short leash with Hub app and texting)
