  1. Not always faff free when we returned from our last cruise we used CPS and when we arrived at the shed for keys at Ocean there was a couple with an official with the back end of there car all smashed in. So even with CPS can go wrong and are not perfect.
  2. No faff with Parking4Cruises they are virtually the same as CPS. Only difference drop your luggage off and take your car to short stay car park which is next to where you drop car off at Ocean with CPS. Simple, straightforward and they drive your car away to a secure compound exactly same as CPS but a lot cheaper
  3. Don't think that is correct when we have taken out pre- medical quote and paid for it and also the extra cruise cover supplement we paid UK Travel direct and when we claimed for missed ports we had to ring UK Travel direct to make the claim and they paid the money direct into my account. The only dealing we have with Nationwide is the £13 monthly cost which they take automatically from your Flexplus account.
  4. Not very impressed with 2026 programme nothing of any interest in the Spring for Southampton sailings. QA for the whole year seems to be very expensive, think we will hang on see if anything of interest on QV after Oct 2026 is released when hopefully she will return to Southampton.
  5. Yes sorry my mistake got Arvia on my brain thinking of our cruise in April.
  6. Is an option if allowed. We are due for renewal 21st May so will be with Arvia.and don't know if they will allow me to renew before 1st May and stay with UK Travel for another 12 months. If they won't allow will wait to see what Arvia charge for pre existing medical conditions and individual charge for every extra cruise cover and conditions because don't seem to have revealed that yet.
  7. Nothing to do with Consumer Laws in any country when if you book QG/PG in US you get free gratuities and drinks package. If you book the same cruise and from the UK you get zilch. That is down to Cunard and how they treat cruiser's differently from whichever country they are from nothing to do with Consumer Law.
  8. That is our only option is to cancel and lose deposit, which is no small amount, then rebook at lower price. Cunard's inconsistent treatment of differing nationalities is driving me away from cruising with them in the future. Already not booked a cruise we planned to book on latest 10% discount offer.
  9. Lucky you can do that, if it happened in the UK and we called Cunard all they would say is "tough".
  10. I must admit we took our free sparkling wine on deck on QM2 when we left NY and there no issues. Having said that I would never take drinks either brought onboard by ourselves or if provided in QG to bars around the ship after pouring them in our cabins.
  11. No they haven't given port times for a few years well before pandemic but they used to do it in their brochures for many years and the stopped it for 2 reasons 1) to encourage people to book P&O excursions rather than independently 2) because if they didn't arrive at time stated in brochure many people complained at reception and demanding compensation for breech of contract.
  12. No they are not the only ones Cunard are the same. Also if you have cruised with P&O for the past 25 yrs you can remember when they did give port time arrivals and departures. We first cruised with P&O in 2000 and for quiet a few years they used to give times in the brochure.
  13. The price of drinks and meals are very high and wages are also high so no need to tip.
  14. It is the straw that broke the camel's back as far I am concerned. We have spent last 7 days enquiring about prices from varying sources and thinking about booking a cruise in December under current 10% savings offering and triple OBC. But since this announcement we have decided not to book and instead have a pre Christmas holiday in our favourite hotel in Austria.
  15. Then that is a problem Cunard will have to sort out by giving them a decent wage instead of relying on customers as it is not our problem.
  16. Not under the impression that hotel and dining service charge increase as always been direct payment to staff when clearly it doesn't. Cunard should not take any percentage of that charge but I am convinced they do. Also there is the long held belief, told to me by member of staff, that they have a guaranteed minimum guaranteed wage written into their contracts and if it is not received in tips then Cunard have to make good that promise. Therefore it is in Cunard's interest that cruiser's pay the charges so they don't have to and so increasing profits. Unfortunately Cunard like many cruise lines muddy the waters about tips and is like a secret society. Why don't they just come clean add gratuities to cruise fare so we all pay them and then if staff receive extra from guests in cash they can keep it.
  17. I do not feel anything with regards to what happened 27yrs ago my point was to prove that Cunard do muddy the waters and make people feel guilty and have done for years because it is in their interest. The more that cruiser's pay the less they can get away with paying in wages and boost their profits.
  18. We have done numerous roundtrip TAs on QM2 at differing times of the year including summer and the Broadwalk Cafe has never been open.
  19. What everyone seems to be forgetting is also on top of tips, gratuities or hotel and dining service charge or whatever you want to call it is the charge of 15% on every drink and is also that to be increased as well which would not surprise me.
  20. I can assure you the words he very carefully used were intended to make me feel bad, wrong or guilty whichever word you care to use by me asking to remove them.
  21. I am grumbling and I certainly will not pay it. For the first time I will remove my tips and give in cash those that I think deserve it and at an amount I am happy with. Which at the end of the day is what tips should be all about even if Cunard cloudy the waters to confuse people by calling it Hotel and Dining service charge. They do this intentionally to make people feel guilty into paying it whilst boosting Cunard profits. Sorry but should do as partner cruise line P&O have done successfully in including gratuities in the cruise fare.
  22. It isnt what it is I certainly wouldn't pay over £400 tips on any land based holiday anywhere on the world. Why should cruiser's be made guilty to pay it because of the poor renumeration of Cunard staff while Cunard as a company keeps on making massive profits.
  23. I can see even more people queuing at reception to remove tips. Sorry but $450 for a couple of a 14 nt cruise is way over the top.
